Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
I would like to thank LXShadow on Youtube for discovering all this. His message is as following:
Hi yearofthe, hope I'm not bothering, but I was wondering if I could ask a favor of you!
Lately I've been doing a lot of researching into what the next Spyro game. I haven't found much, but I was wondering if you could spread the information I've found around. It's quite long, but I'd appreciate it if you could get this onto a Spyro forum or into the community somehow. I would do it myself- but I'm terrible with forums.
Here's the information I've found. It's not really that much... but it does make quite a long list!
------------------------------------------------------------
212.123.29.37/publicfolder/Prijslijsten/Prijslijst%20Week%2038.xls
This Dutch spreadsheet is a pricelist. A game called "Spyro's Kingdom" appears twice on the list - one for Wii and one for DS. And so far it seems apparent that he won't be appearing on any other consoles next year - 2011 - which is when it should be released.
------------------------------------------------------------
ru.willyfogg.com/p105418516/Spyro+-+The+Legend+-+Spyro%27s+Kingdom++WII+Verwacht%3A24_9_10/
This site, along with a few others that can be googled, has evidence to suggest that this game is going to be based on the Legend series. It doesn't say "The Legend of Spyro", I bet, because the trilogy is over (but they still want to use the same universe, how confusing!). To solve the confusion they've hired some people to do some title tests, as many people now know.

This one's interesting - a voice actor for the next game! I haven't the slightest idea who he'll voice though...but it looks like Activision might be done with the popular Hollywood figures for now.
------------------------------------------------------------
linkedin.com/pub/catherine-wolpe/5/332/b0b
Another mention of the game's provisory name.
-------------------------------------------------------------
linkedin.com/pub/mike-parseghian/5/b75/6a9
linkedin.com/pub/chen-shen/1b/459/212
Just a bit of assurance that the game's being developed (at least if it hasn't been cancelled! The pricelist suggests not).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again- if you could spread this around, that would be great. Thanks in advance! I just think the fans deserve to know what's coming.
Let me know what you think of it!
So what do you think?

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
OMG!!! Doesn't anyone have something positive to say?
First of all, "Kingdom" doesn't necessarily mean Spyro is king. All 13 console and handheld game imply some sort of dragon kingdom that governs the homeworlds and lands.
Second of all, what is so cheesy about LoS? The cartoony advetures from the original series (which are fun) have the cheesiest storylines. And besides, if you want a lean in the direction of the old Spyro, then this rumor should be answering your prayer.
I highly doubt they would leave sony consoles out of this one, unless they truely believe that all Spyro fans are young, watch Saturday morning cartoons religiously, and have a Wii that their parents got them two years ago because parents are suckers for pricetags on video game merchandise (Yes, Dad, I love football games, but Madden 2005 is six years old now).
If these rumors are true that Spyro will be Nintendo exclusive, then it must follow Shadow Legacy. It will be pretty upsetting if the game doesn't release on PS3 or Xbox.

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
It would probably be wise to go Nintendo-exclusive with a casual franchise such as Spyro. Wii and DS have huge demographics, while PS3 and 360 have slimmer demographics of older and hardcore gamers.
Activision would have to pay a licensing fee for each console (pretend it's $X). They pick the ones with large numbers in the target demographic. Nintendo seems to have a larger audience of kids and fans of colorful animal characters and casual gamers, so they feel safe in paying Nintendo $2X to license the game. ($X for DS, $X for Wii).
Sony and Microsoft, however, with their hardcore older gamers, probably prefer shooters, or realistic racing games, or realistically colored animal characters, so Activision doesn't want to risk $2X extra on the two consoles. Plus, it's somewhat likely that 360 or PS3 owners also have a Wii or DS.
In the days of PS1, they had a balanced library of games. Now, on the PS3, games like Little Big Planet are complicated, and even Ratchet & Clank is less casual than I would like.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

lol I like how people are already complaining about the game yet we haven't even seen screenshots, gameplay or even the story background. I just hope it will be good. I don't think the game should be judged so quickly untill we actually see something from it. Don't judge a book by its cover, as they say.

I agree completely. But I can't find out if the game is good if I don't own Nintendo's crappy hardware. Sorry if I offended the Ninny freaks.

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
Wow, they are actually going to be working on a Spyro game, that takes place in the Legend's universe... For more than a year?
Is anyone else excited? I mean, this may be the game that TLoS games should have been.
If this is true, the latest we will be seeing an announcement for this game is next June's E3 event. I actually hope we don't hear an announcement until E3, because I am willing to give them another couple months to work on the game.
Face it, quick production times make pretty crappy games. I am actually impressed that TLoS games weren't as bad as they should have been for under a year's development.
Activision made the mistake of waiting too long to continue their churning of Spyro games, and now that they lost all of their "quickie" fans, they won't be able to get them back. Hopefully this means longer development between each Spyro game.
Of course, I won't be buying it until the reviews are out... But I am pretty optimistic...

Actually it's been in production since June 2009 according to this.
So it will be longer than what Enter the Dragonfly was in, which was about 8-10 months.

I think you are wrong on this one. It has a list of projects she's worked on since June 2009. Doesn't actually say that she'd been working on Spyro Kingdom since June 2009.
Cynder's voice in DotD was done by Chrstina Ricci, and I think she did abetter job than people give her credit for. Tell me one bad thing about Ricci's Cynder.

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
Can we not get into a Cynder-based argument, please? This topic is about the new Spyro game, and we don't even know if Cynder is in it yet.
As far as the title goes, I'm actually pretty interested. It's weird; today I was playing Conker's Bad Fur Day, and as I watched the opening scene, I wondered what it would be like if Spyro became king in his newest game due to an unexpected twist in the storyline. I mean, King Spyro does sound a bit dodgy, but if it's because of a twist in things and not because Spyro's father is revealed to be the king of the Dragon Kingdom then things could be pretty interesting.
Anyway, I hope they make the game for fans of both series. So far, it's pretty hard to tell because Spyro being king sounds very Legend of Spyro - ish, but there were no hints of a kingdom in the Legend of Spyro; only in the original series. Hopefully they'll incorporate more characters from the old series into the new, like Elora and Bianca.

The Dragon Kingdom has existed since the very first game, everyone should know that's it's ruled by elders (guardians in LoS, I guess) and not an actual king.

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
I knew comments on Cynder's lack of true emotion would be made. I'm sorry about off topic but allow me to make a point.
It was revealed by Malefor that Spyro freed him, Malefor said Cynder 'brought him here'. How is that possible? When the two were shackled, it didn't show them being shackled together. And when Spyro woke, Cynder was already awake. What if she was in on it the whole time? Understand Cynder is a neutral character and doesn't know herself where she stands.
IF this is true, then Cynder's dialog would be mustard with insincerity and impurities, making Ricci's voice acting better than we give credit for. This is just one example of how deep the LoS story could be.

Re: Evidence of a new Spyro game. [video]
Malefor meant Cynder brought his spirit back from Convexity while she was still under his evil influence near the end of ANB, while Spyro accidentally freed when he turned into Dark Spyro in TEN, riverhippo.
Guys, this topic is about the new next Spyro game that Activision has been keeping hidden from us, not about Cynder.
