SpyroForum Member Awards 2008

Have you always wished for that certain member to be recognized? Here is the place to make it happen! The voting for SpyroForum Awards 2008 will be taking place from now until December 31st.

What is this?: SpyroForum Awards 2008 is an event where you vote for members in the following categories. The members with the most votes will win gems (amount depends on how many we have available XD) If you have any other ideas for categories, that's fine too; just mention them in this topic. smile

*Best Debater
*Best RPer
*Funniest Member
*Most Meaningful Poster
*Best Artist (Take a look in Spyro Pictures for some great artists you might not have seen before!)
*Best Banner
*Best Avatar
*Best Banner/Avatar Maker
*Best Writer (Check out the Spyro Fan Fiction Group!)

Member-added Categories:
*Most Spammy
*Least likely to win and award
*Biggest Flame War Starter
*Most Likely to be Banned

What are the rules?:

1. Do not nominate yourself.
2. Do not nominate moderators. (Edit: Since I don't want to have to have everyone who's sent in their votes redo them, OK, you can nominate moderators. =P )
3. You may only vote once for each category, but you don't need to nominate someone for every category.
4. Do not discuss your votes or ask people to vote for you. Results will be kept private until the end of the contest; it'll make it more fun, trust me. =]
5. Follow the correct ballot format (shown below). This makes it easier for me to read and process all your entries.
6. Do not send more than one PM. Send all of your votes in the same PM so my inbox doesn't get too cluttered. =]
7. Active members only, please. We wouldn't want to nominate someone who will never even see his or her award. Use your best judgement as to whether the member in question is active or not. This also means you may not vote for members who are perma-banned.

How do I enter?: PM Stormy your ballot (one PM!) with the following format:

Title: SpyroForum Awards

[b]Category:[/b] Member name

Remember, you do not need to nominate someone for every category.

When will the results be posted?: Whenever I get them done. This will depend on how busy I am and how many entries we get. Please don't pester me about putting them up; I won't forget. wink

eh, I would like more categories. Some really random ones would be funny, like "Most Spammy member" or "most annoying member"

I know these sound like insults but i hope everyone could take them as a joke and have a good sense of humour

It sounds good, though I agree with ratchet. On another forum that I know there were awards and some people won things like "Biggest suck up" or "Least Likely to win an award" nobody took any offence to it and just took it as a joke. I also like the categories "worst avatar" or "worst signature" or something like that.

Good ideas, everyone! Keep them coming. I originally thought of having joke ones, but I was worried that people might find it offensive if they won "spammiest member" or something like that. But if you think it would go over well.... How about if people can opt out of winning awards?

Good idea, Malefor, but I'm afraid that that might turn into something of a popularity contest.

Are we able to skip some categories? Some of them I really don't know about, such as "Best Writer".

Okay, the first post has been updated. The negative ones (or some of them) are added, so if people get mad, don't blame me; it's what you guys wanted. =P

Cool. Oh yeah, and on the other forum I'm on the people got a banner to put in their signature that looked like this:

So maybe the people that win here could get a banner as well? The runners up got a banner as well but it was blue and said runner up. Some more categories could maybe be Nicest and Smartest (Not as in Smart alec, as in clever) But that other forum is pretty big so we might not have enough people for very many categories.

She told me that she was thinking making userbars for the winners to put in their signatures.

I like the idea. It would be even funnier for the negative awards. =P
