And now for her sister, FINALLY. It wouldn't have taken so long but I decided to tweak her personality abit since she was honestly still more of a "stereotypical kind Princess" than I was comfortable with, and also my computer was screwed up for a good while so I got sidetracked quite alot. In this one I bring in yet another species never introduced or even referenced in the LOS universe, but I wanted to explore anyway in my story because I personally think they’re awesome. (Though like Gryphons, they are a confirmed creature in Skylanders atleast.)

Species: Dryphon

Personality: Avia is widely considered to be the polar opposite of her older sister, Velia. Whereas Velia is a curt loner, preferring to interact with others purely on her terms alone if she can help it, Avia is warm and bright like the fire she breathes, a caring soul whom can interact soundly with almost everyone she meets, provided they don’t try to provoke her upon first impression of course. Though also like fire, she has a temper that behaves like a firecracker, and when provoked can almost immediately go from calm and reputable to fuming, on top of that, she is also very stubborn in the name of what she believes to be right, and has a tendency to openly run her mouth when agitated, both of which occasionally overcomes her self-preservation instincts, which as you would expect, makes her liable to get into even deeper trouble in an already-bad situation.

She is also quite clever and resourceful, with much of her restless nature coming from having an inquisitive mind that urges her to learn all she can about the creatures and environment around her, and as such it’s not always enough for her to appreciate something just for what it is as a whole, but rather she likes to examine things and see how they work.

As for her relationship with Velia, despite how different the two are in personality, this actually does nothing to hinder her bond with the black-furred Dryphon, if anything; their differing traits actually balance eachother out. Such is the nature of siblings, they do have disagreements from time to time, particularly ones stemmed from their vastly different upbringings, but nonetheless the two are a true team, both royal Dryphons being formidable in their own right and in their own ways, and together they are even stronger.

Background: (Considering their story obviously overlaps at a point some stuff from Velias BG is copy-pasted here around the end of it, with slight alterations that get into the mind of Avias character so hopefully that isn't too bad on you guys)
The first memory Avia has is of looking into the deep amber eyes of a huge, red and gold bird with glowing feathers, cradled in its warm wings, which she would come to recognize as her adoptive family, this being a flock of Phoenixes.

It would also become notable to her rather quickly that she was not of their kind, rather than being a giant bird with glimmering, flame-colored plumage, she was a four-legged white and gold furred creature with deep blue eyes, with the only thing even slightly alike between the two being her own large pair of feathered wings. Because of this she wasn’t all too surprised to learn that she was adopted, what did surprise her, however, was who her biological family was.

While the Phoenixes were a species with a tendency to wander anyway, the scourge of Malefors reign forced them to travel even more often than naturally lest they be enslaved, while death was something they never feared for obvious reasons, the closest thing to this being to watch the young Driffon they had raised perish before it was her time. The firebirds also preferred to not interact much with other creatures, so they had nothing to leave behind when they would inevitably leave an area, and through this constant movement Avia quickly made a habit of taking the time to learn things about the places she explored, and if she could find any leads, about the places she would arrive in upon their next major flight. A particularly interesting thing being a kingdom called Ariva, inhabited by Dragons, Gryphons, and especially interesting creatures known as “Dryhpons.” Which she immediately noticed upon reading of them held a description remarkably similar to hers, and it didn’t take long for her to deduce that she was one of them.

And while it was entirely possible Dryphons resided in places other than Ariva before and during its reign, even more remarkable information confirmed that she was indeed from this very Kingdom, for while she could not find any illustrations of the Dryphons in question, as such information would no doubt be locked within the enslaved Kingdoms walls, one common fact amongst all that knew of Ariva was that its rightful heirs all had a common trait that separated them from the rest, and they were a pair of diamond-shaped birthmarks on the forehead and back of every direct descendant.

Despite her expected disbelief as the realization sank in, Avia knew this could not be a coincidence, after all, everything leading up to this seemed to add up. She was adopted, which she had eventually learned had been not even a day after Ariva had been taken by Malefors forces, she was a Dryphon, the most famous species of the kingdom that the royals themselves were known to be for every generation bar the very first King and Queen, and now this, this news of these “Royal Marks” that she plainly harbored on her own pelt for all to see. There was no plausible way she was born during that time and the way she was by chance, she was a Princess.

What she didn't understand, however, were the rare instances (mostly by word of mouth from travelers that had been to or knew those that lived in Ariva) were it would seem that Ariva had another Princess, one born before Ariva had been attacked and conquered, one with fur as black as night, and eyes that brimmed a sharp emerald, and it was even said she wielded the infamously rare Shadow Element, but had never been seen again after the raid that resulted in the death of the King and Queen, and the capture of Ariva, but instead just… Disappeared, seemingly lost to the darkness she had been said to create.

It was because of the fact that no-one had any leads on what happened to the hatchling that many dismissed the tale of the “Shadow Princess” as a rumor, and the few that believed in her existence assumed she had died, long ago. And Avia would've turned the stories aside aswell if the circumstances were different, for her logic was if she herself, a Dryphon Princess raised among Phoenixes that only realized her origins upon adulthood, could exist, then why not this mysterious female?

Unfortunately, true to her title as “Shadow Princess” Avia could find nothing else on her maybe-possibly alive older sister, and she eventually had to accept that she probably had died years ago, alongside their parents most likely, and the rumors were just that, rumors. She did have a flickering notion that perhaps she just didn't WANT to be found, but she quickly wrote this off as a thought of false hope, and stopped thinking about Ariva entirely.

Weeks later, she was taking a nighttime flight, lost in thought when her wing was suddenly struck by a blast of dark magic vicious enough to send her to the forest floor. She rose to her feet and saw that a pack of Dreadwings had been following her, she fought them well at first, but when one eventually struck her down she assumed this was the end, shutting her eyes as she waited for them to tear into her. But instead, a loud roar made her open her eyes in astonishment, for it sounded nothing like the Dreadwings attacking her, and almost out of nowhere a black and gold creature leapt forward and wasted no time in attacking the batlike monsters, and when they eventually drove them off she finally got a clear look at the creature, as it’s dark complexion and extremely swift movements made it hard to decipher anything beyond a dark blur throughout the entirety of the fight, and what she saw left her speechless.

She was a Dryphon, hardly larger than herself with a night-black coat and emerald-green eyes, and an obvious golden diamond-shaped mark on her back.

She knew right away that it was her, but Avia couldn't for the life of her think of what to say, ironic considering she had figured she would have so much to ask if this day somehow came, but now she could think of nothing, even as the “Shadow Princess” asked if she was badly hurt she continued to stare in amazement. Probably concerned for her lack of a response, the older Dryphon turned to ask her again and seemed to recoil the moment she laid her eyes on Avia, giving her a strange look of something between shock, disbelief, and even abit of recognition.

So she too regarded Velia in amazement, and after what felt like hours of staring, with a level of calm that surprised even herself she told Velia that she knew who she was, and, smiling in wonder, admitted that for all of her wondering of how this confrontation would potentially turn out, as anyone would upon learning they had a long-lost sibling, she never imagined she would actually meet her one day.

Velia didn't reply to that, and merely told her she knew a place to treat her wounds, and Avia curiously tried to get Velia to talk to her, only to be met with silence each time. She could see that the black Dryphon was timid, and if her personality was anything like she had heard from the rumors, she probably hadn't really talked to anyone in a long time, so she tried to take it as easy as possible when asking her questions, and even the most harmless things said in the most soothing way she could manage seemed to practically make Velia flinch each time. And the next morning when she had almost fully recovered, she asked if she would see her again, daring to hope this wouldn't be the only and last she saw of this famously-elusive female, in which the mysterious older Dryphon replied “It would be best for you if you didn't.” and disappeared into the darkness of the cave.

But rather than her words coming off as dismissive, indifferent, or even harsh, she just sounded… Sad, to her, infact, the entire time she attempted to interact with Velia there was always this somber yet resigned look in her eyes particularly when she tried to get her to speak, as if her presence brought up unpleasant memories. She understood that trying to coax at that current moment would probably end up with Velia forcefully pushing her away, so she gave one last glance back to the mouth of the cave and took off.

But she was far from done trying. To her, Velia was like a puzzle, a mystery begging to be explored and solved, she was slowly forming a presumption on how the Dryphon might be but it wasn't nearly enough. After all, this was her older sister, the last remaining member of the family she’d only just come to realize she had, and more-than-mysterious background or not that basis alone was enough to make her urge to get to know her almost unbearable.

So next morning, before it was even bright out, she ventured to the cave near where she had first met Velia, and after confirming that the other Dryphon was indeed in there she waited for the next few hours at the mouth of it for her to get up, not knowing how defensively the secluded Shadow-Wielder would react to being manually awoken.

When Velia awoke she was clearly surprised to see Avia waiting for her, and when Avia explained her resolve the older Dryphon tried to convince her that she was only invested in the idea of her, and she’d quickly grow to hate the black Dryphon after seeing that she "wasn't worth her efforts" so she may aswell not even try, but Avia would not be deterred, and finally Velia gave in, promising that she would secretly trail the phoenixes whenever they moved locations to see her, and would only leave permanently if Avia told her to, and this is the point where she finally gave her name.

Over the next several months, the two sisters slowly but surely got to know eachother, Velia eventually opened up to Avia completely and exhibited that behind her wary and distrusting front, she was very intelligent, kind, and even playful, and it was clear that the two would henceforth be inseparable. However, there was still the matter of their kingdom being under Malefors control, which concerned Velia dearly for she felt she was useless to do anything about it for she was only one Dryphon, and had never even been near her home ever since that night, but Avia was confident, stating that one day, the two would find a way to save their Kingdom, and people, and the two would take their rightful places in the Kingdom as a team, as things always should’ve been.

Strengths

She is skilled with her Fire Element specifically to the point of near-mastery thanks to the fact she was raised by Phoenixes, which are known as the Masters of Fire themselves, and was taught to use this element to the fullest the moment she was discovered to wield it, she can also raise and lower her body temperature at will, which she most often does to her claws in battle to render them searing enough to slice through steel, you’ll know when she’s doing this as her claws will set alight with a radiant blue glow. And just like Velia she can shoot plasma aswell, with hers actually happening to be somewhat stronger due to her sheer level of skill with fire.

Some tricks she learned specifically from her Phoenix clan is her ability to set the ends of her wings aflame, which scatters glitter-like embers when she flies. She figured this trick out somewhat early in her life to mimic the natural glimmering of a Phoenixes feathers when they themselves soar through the air, and in battle she can scatter several fireballs around at once by fluttering her wings in this state. Another is her attack in which she summersaults into a ball and surrounds herself in fire, dealing gracious damage to any enemies in her path

Her species is inherently excellent at flying, to the point where not too many non-Dryphons could outpace her in the air.

She is quite observant, and has a good sense of attention to detail, so it’s hard to put things past her even if she seems distracted, and this also means you’ll be hard-pressed to successfully lie to her aswell.

As mentioned in her personality section and backstory, she has a habit of getting deeply invested into and wanting to learn all she can about things that fascinate her, and is always eager to uncover new secrets, this makes her not only rather smart, but also a quick-thinker and great problem-solver even under stress.

Weaknesses

As said before, Avia can display quite an attitude when annoyed, and sometimes this overlaps her self-preservation instincts and makes her liable to openly badmouth creatures that are potentially threatening her. You can see how this would be a problem. XD

Despite her generally reputable and upbeat attitude, she actually has abit of a problem with accepting help from others when it comes to solving an issue, often convincing herself she just needs to tackle a problem at a different angle to eventually get the hang of it, and her stubbornness can even come off as downright haughty when faced with others telling her she can’t fix everything on her own. She is also, ironically enough, a total hypocrite about this as she often tells Velia a similar thing when the black Dryphon acts in a similar way.

She has a similar limit to Velia when it comes to shooting Plasma, so like her extended use of this ability risks weakening her mid-fight.

Her biggest fear is being alone and forgotten, and because of this may be prone to acting overly-coddling to those closest to her, and she often won’t notice it unless told directly.

She has a fear of failure, not so much the thought of not getting something the first than the notion of letting others down, particularly if she's already been built up by those very creatures, this also ties into her stubbornness during times where she feels her redemption after a failure is something that she alone has to accomplish.

Like many fire-wielders she has a weakness to water-based attacks.

Other:

Like Velia, Avia also has catlike behaviors due to her Gryphon ancestry, and on a side note she also preens.

The jewelry Avia wears was made and given to her by Velia weeks after they met, and she treasures them greatly, considering them a symbol of the first time her older sister truly opened up to her.

Despite her fire abilities, she quite enjoys swimming, she doesn't, however, enjoy the fact that water always soaks and weighs down her fluffy tail afterward, particularly because she takes pride in keeping it and her wings in good condition.

Some words Avias name is stemmed from mean “Trustworthy” “Serpent” and “Bird.” The first relating to her sense of loyalty to those she loves, and the last two relating to her Dragon and Gryphon ancestry.

Hello, don't mind me. I'll just drop a character here for future use and/or reference.

Name: Seren
Species: Dragon (Magic Crafter)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthplace: Alpine Ridge

Appearance: Seren is a slender-built dragoness, standing at average height for an adolescent specimen of her age (Somewhat taller than Spyro in the original trilogy). Her scales are teal, and her underbelly a yellowed white. Her eyes are a teeny tiny bit thinner than those of most dragons, and she sports golden iris. She has long, delicate, light-brown horns, which are only slightly curved to the back. Her wings are of average size, large enough to allow flight, albeit only because of her slender frame and meager weight. Between her horns, atop her head, begins a sort of fin/membrane that goes all the way down to the tip of her tail. There's no spike or anything at the end of her tail.

Personality: Seren is a calm dragon a majority of the time. She prefers to maintain a calm and collected demeanor, tackling issues with an analytical approach in search of the most efficient solution. At her best, she can be reliable, trustworthy, responsible, and patient. At her worst, she can be isolative, apathetic, rude and somewhat arrogant. Seren takes pride in her skill, and will go to great lengths to prove it, assuming she considers your opinion to be worth the effort. When there aren't any pressing matters demanding her attention, Seren prefers to find a quiet place to rest in where she can read and practice her craft. She has a few pet peeves too: Being interrupted while reading, bagpipe music, and jumpscares. These are three ways to get her very cranky, very quickly.

Powers: As a Magic Crafter dragon, Seren is capable of, well, crafting magic. With a natural talent for the art, the dragoness started out young, and has since developed commendable skill in this area, making her a very proficient spellcaster. Seren can cast various types of spells to shape the world around her, or aid herself or her allies in a conflict. These spells include, but are not limited to explosive fireballs, telekinesis (moving objects with her mind), and activating depleted power-ups. As a last thing, Seren can transform into an ethereal 'blue beam' for quick travelling (Think of Bianca's rainbow in Year of the Dragon).

Weaknesses: Seren is very frail of body, and will often succumb to physical attacks quite quickly. Her magic isn't without weakness either: Her spells take some time to charge and be ready to cast, and, depending on how advanced/powerful they are, they can exhaust her very quickly. She's not very athletic either, so she relies on her magic to move quickly. Being rather young too, Seren still hasn't completely mastered the art of flying, which means she sometimes has trouble with it.

Background:
Seren was born into the Magic Crafters clan of dragons, in the Dragon Realms. From a young age she displayed talent, and thus she was started on the crafting of magic earlier than most dragons. It was a somewhat uncommon thing, but nothing unheard of. She wasn't the first and she wouldn't be the last. Learning was slow at first, due to her meager age, but starting early helped her advance much quicker than the rest of the drakes of her age. At age 12 she was deemed fully capable of creating new magic by herself, although her small magical reserves were a little bit of a setback. Being so young, she couldn't hope to compete with adult dragons due to her much-smaller energy limit. To make up for it, she began to exercise herself, by spending her reserves over and over. In other words, she practiced a lot of magic to build up stamina.

By age 14 she'd accomplished considerable results, managing to pass a few tests consisting of moving several large platforms, destroying a few targets with fireballs, and pumping raw magic into a disabled power-up to energize it. It was at that point that she was officially left to her own resources. No more lessons, training or preparations. From that point onwards, Seren learnt new things and advanced by herself, through observation and replication of what she observed. Before long she found herself travelling through the many, many portals scattered all throughout the Dragon Realms, in order to see what the magics of other worlds were like. She's visited the Forgotten Realms, and she's visited Avalar as well. However, unlike some more heroic dragons, she did not get involved in any conflicts, simply indulging herself in her own, calmer adventures focused around learning new things.

To this day, Seren's interests haven't changed much beyond that. She flies from here to there, seeking new places to discover, more books to read, and strange magic to unravel.

Name- Troika

Gender- Male

Age- 20

Species- Tigsky (Tiger/Husky hybrid)

Appearance- Troika is a rather large hybrid, standing at just over three feet at the shoulders. He is smaller than most dragons older than adolescent but he doesn't particularly care. His coat is a beautiful sky blue with a ice white underbelly and jet black stripes all down his back and tail.

Power- Cold and ice, namely ice breath and ice shards

Weakness- Fire, fur isn't exactly fire proof.

Strength- Cold, it doesn't bother him one bit. He's also a rather excellent swimmer.

Personality- It varies from time to time depending on the situation but typically he's cheerful, playful and carefree. He loves to learn new things.

Home/Location- Somewhere in the woods

Background- Troika is a traveler. He's been traveling to new places as long as he could remember. He's seen many interesting things, frightful things, disgusting things and many others. He learned how to harness the power of ice when he was young and had to fend for himself when he got captured on Dante's Freezer. A useful skill to have really. He kept practicing, usually on liquids like water. He found that he could freeze it by merely touching it. It may have just been small puddles but that was a small leap for him. With time and hard training, he developed an ice breath, something that he'd only known dragons were capable of. This brought great excitement to the hybrid. Now he wasn't so easy to corner and capture. He could defend himself in a better way now.

After leaving Dante's Freezer, he found himself in Warfang, the famed dragon city built by the moles. While his time in the city, he made some interesting friends among some of the denizens, he even got to meet the ice guardian, Cyril, briefly. Before he knew it, the city was under attack. He tried to help but it was far too dangerous for the hybrid so he had to leave with many others. Now he's traveling again, looking for new friends and new adventures. Maybe he'll come across Cyril again and get some real training from the master of ice.

Hehe ^ w^; Thanks! I've been around the block a few times so I've got a few years of role playing experience. LoS is like one of my all-time favorite games so I pretty much just adapted my fursona to fit in that world, sort of. I'd love to get to know y'all and maybe rp with y'all sometime. Or now if someone's interested in brewing up an idea or two with me smile Let's bring back some life to the rp section!
