the problem with the legend....

hi after long consideration i bought the LoS series. BIG FAT MISTAKE. ok i will get this over with quickly...

Graphics: the graphics are incredible but spyro looks like a complete fool hes ugly now and you cannot deny also sparx was a huge WTF for me why does he look like a person with no legs? why is he now not spyros health counter?

Sound: Sparx has turned into a real jerk off, not just talking bout his voice either he doesn't seem tosupport spyro enough and where is his bzzzbbzzzzbzzzzbzzz form of speaking

gameplay: a lot of people had been drawn into the combat aspect of this with too much success the fighting is completely stupid for me the thing i loved about the classics is because of the platforming aspect and the enemies now though you get limited health and NO SHEEP how could you not torching those kangaroo sheep things

overall this game only got a 4.3for me there was no platforming and the only sign this was a spyro game was the horribly mutated version of spyro they should have left well alone...

Have you bought and played all 3 games through? because the 3rd game is better for platforming. besides this game is alot diferent because they are starting over. now they are going more for the epic journey story instead of the other games, which werent as serious. and sparx is the comic releif character. these games focus more on the story instead of the gameplay. i think that these would do good as books or movies because of how the story playes out.

if i was going to review the game i would give the story overall a 9 out of 10.
ANB gameplay- 4 out of 10. they could have done a lot better on the play and replay value.
TEN gameplay- 6 out of 10. more replay value with the added quills but could have done alot more.
DotD gameplay- 8 out of 10. they finaly figured out the good replay value thing. there is less fighting and more puzzles.
Final rating for game overall- 8 out of 10. not the best game ive ever played but definently my favorite storyline.

I liked dotd. the storyline was good overall the ending did leave me with questions unanswered but hopefully the next game can answer them. overall storyline i'd say 8 out of 10. not bad considering spyro had a change in developers from krome to EL

This quote is as good as being a troll yourself. You are pretty much welcoming the other member to argue with you on a thread about something that's pretty pointless. That's the exact same thing that Grievous kept doing and he is no longer allowed to access this forum.

Be a little more lenient when you post please, If you have to blurt out your opinion in that manner it's only going to cause arguments and that will result in this topic being closed. I really have zero tolerance for that kind of stuff.

Yes, Ratchet returns for another TLOS hate topic. This time i have to disagree with almost every aspect.

Firstly, I absolyely dont mind Spyro's new look. He looks ok, But the fact itself that they changed his look for absolutely no reason gets me. The look itself I do not mind. Sparx, I prefered the old sparx too, But I like new Sparx's personality, He points out flaws, cliches and things. But i really think that Spyro should of had this personality himself.

I like the combat too, but i think it is a bit excessive. I thinkk it is an excuse not to make the levels bigger. I dont like the linearity, The fact there is no exploration, and if there is, it really has no purpose towards the game (Like the feathers in TEN). Now you have limited health? Awat? I think the gems and powerups were a great idea, and Sparx really wouldnt help as a health bar for this kind of game. He could chnge colour sure, but you really need a surefire way to tell your health, even if you have a little ciombat. I guess you could have a health bar And sparx changing colour. But there is still the fact that it makes Spyro look like a wimp. I never liked that. How Spyro has to RELY on his dragonfly. Sparx should really only help with collecting gems, and using powers. and unless they explain how spyro's health is "connected" to sparx (Sparx displays spyro's health and changes colour), Sparx would not work as a healthbar anymore, even if they went back to the original games.

And therEe IS platforming, just they did it in completely stupid ways. They gave spyro too many powers, He just needs jump, glide, hover and charge, climb, swim and maybe headbash. THAT IS IT. I HATED the freeflight as it wrecked the platforming

From what I,ve seen of TLOS the plot leavse alot to be desired as it cansists of fantays game/film cliche like spyro being the "Chosen one" as opposed to the origional games were he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, twice.

The game was good, but it was a little off in the combat system and I didn't like it with some of the bosses ( Like Kaboos and using the same battle system with the Ravage rider. Or the earth god with the tree thing in TEN. I forgot his name. It wasn't that bad though O.o Sometimes, we have to accept changes in Spyro.

just because isomanic whatever it is called just quit making spyro it doesnt mean lgend of spyro series sucks...its awesome! the graphics r great and cynder and spyro and sparx look awesome in dawn of the dragon. and first time with 2 players and flying big_smile

No one's saying they hate it just because Insomniac didn't develop it. They're saying that because they, you know, actually don't like certain parts of the game. Not everyone's going to like every game that gets labeled "Spyro."

It's not because Insomniac quit that a lot of fans hate the Legend of Spyro. It's true that Spyro's best games were made my Insomniac, but bad as Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail are, at least they're true Spyro. Shadow Legacy (DS) shared lots of similarities with The Legend of Spyro but at least that was true Spyro, too. They didn't change a small yet arrogant and cocky who liked toasting things as a hobby to a wet, wimpy Gary-Stu with prophetic powers.

The graphics are great? I'm tired of hearing this! If the true Spyro had been continued into the next generation of consoles, the true Spyro would have had great graphics too! Are some people too stupid to figure this out?

Spyro still looks like Gnasty Gnorc's brother to me. And Sparx is ugly too. And they totally ruined Hunter! Cynder wasn't in the original series, but I hate her anyway for everything she's done to the fanbase.

Yeah, you could fly in the original games, and in was much less limited than it is in Dawn of the Dragon. He had free-flight - and I mean FREE-flight - in speedways, as well as in some other sections (remember Gnasty's Loot? And that section in Fireworks Factory where he had to shoot down the Chinese dragons?

Yeah, they didn't have co-op or multiplayer in the original series (unless you count that Bentley level in Frozen Altars) but at least it's not like Dawn of the Dragon. The game is more boring than usual with just one player. I'd rather have fun gameplay and being able to play as a variety of characters - Spyro, Sparx, Hunter, and all the other playable characters in Year of the Dragon and A Hero's Tail - than two dragons with virtually the same abilities, just with different colours.

And I think everyone is forgetting the whole point of the Legend of Spyro - the GAMEPLAY. It's just fight, fight, fight, clear a horde of enemies here, jump, clear another there. OMIGOD!!!!1!!1 Spyro got a new breath power! It's basically the same a before but with different colours! Clear out another horde of enemies, walk forwards, jump, glide, a few more, cutscene, boss, repeat several times, end.

At least in the originals you had some variety. Not only could Spyro do the basics, he could ride vehicles like rollercoasters and UFOs, fly and shoot down things, skateboard...and then you had all the other characters' abilities.

Sorry to rant like this, but I'm just getting really sick of people favouring The Legend of Spyro because of the graphics. It's not anything else, is it? The gameplay sucks and the story is ripped from the Lord of the Rings. Ugh.

I noticed a bunch of stuff from Star Wars and Harry Potter in addition to the LOTR stuff. I think the storyboard people just watched the first Bionicle movie and changed the theme from bio-mechanical island to medieval dragon country.
