A Dark Age Dawns... (Please read warning in 1st post)

The boy stopped himself from berating Zeel and bashing the dragon about the assued fact that being a slave in this city made him an expert on it's mapping. A small shred of decency and compassion stopped the boy from lashing at the dragon, odd for him, but then again, eveything about Zeel was odd for Colum. The boy disliked dragons, was stingy, was rude, and normally drove others away, oddly he liked Zeel, bought him (and diddn't treat Zeel like he had bought Zeel... as far as Colum was concerned), he diddn't constantly insult the dragon, and concidered him a freind (even though speaking it aloud would make it offical and that's something Colum couldn't allow).

The Boy insted tore off a hand sized section of his cloak and began muttering old words to it. The cloth would give off an eery light then go dim again, start glowing when Colum stated speaking, fade when he stopped, again and again this cycle repeated itself. After this cycle was colpleted for the umpteenth time, the boy called to Zeel.

"Can you hang on to this for me?" he asked, jumping from Zeel's back and stumbling from his not so graceful touchdown.

"Sure," Zeel obliged. "Strange thing to hold on to..." Maybe it has sentimental value? he wondered. "Okay, now we keep going down this way, and then it should be right around the corner."

A cold wind suddenly blew down the street. Lucy shivered and wrapped her arms around herself. She stood in a hunchbacked position, her back was throbbing like hell. It felt like someone was pouring scalding water down it. Urgh... if I was wearing a hooded cloak, I'd look just like an old beggar woman... She thought, scowling.

"Huh?" Lucy could swear she spotted movement in the distance. Bright in the lanterns, she gasped as she saw a large blue dragon... with a human man sitting on his back. The boy slid off his companion's back. Another human associating with dragons... So I'm not the only one! She stepped forward, hoping to get their attention. Looks like more and more humans and dragons are pairing up... Could it be something to do with Ulkna and his ways?

"Not exactilly sentamental value" Colum thought, "more of a gift with strings attached." The boy grinned and clamberd back onto Zeel. When he was comfortable, the boy looked about and spotted a girl at the far end of the street. He snickered and pointed at the girl thinking," It's a begger girl so poor she can't afford a hooded cloak!"

The boy rocked back and forith on Zeel trying to contain his merth.

"Stay still," Zeel ordered, "that feels a bit uncomfortable." He spotted a human, a girl, and continued.

They were coming this way. Towards her? Lucy stepped forward a little more, shivering in the cold as another gust rushed down the street. She straightened herself up as best she could - always helps to make a good first impression. She smiled cautiously at them as they approached. "Um... hi?" She said lamely. She blushed and then turned to the direction they came from. The three centaurs had come from that way... Perhaps they had something to do with it? "Hey, did you guys see any centaurs pass your way?" She asked sweetly.

Lucy widened her eyes. "Absolutely not!" She gasped, hurt. "Do I look like I'm a servant of Ulkna? No, but I've just seen him being carried away by the three centaurs. He was badly injured..." She cleared her throat uneasily and asked, "Did you see what happened to him?"

Another one breaking the rules... Lexon tried to smile. "I'm my own boss. Ulkna will never be givin' me any orders." he said.
"...and I hate Ulkna as much as I can." Link quickly added.
"What 'bout ya guys?" Lexon asked, knowing it was the most stupid question he could ask.

Lucy looked at what Aura had wrote on the floor. She wasn't exactly sure what she meant, but she took a lucky guess and placed her hand on Aura's side sympathetically and patted her.

Aurgal and Aura are suffering as a result of Ulkna's actions, She thought, And by the sounds of it, Link has had trouble's too... Why else would he have attacked him like that? He almost killed him! Lucy shivered again and wrapped her arms around herself. Maybe... Maybe all those rumours about Ulkna are true...

Lucy turned her attention back to the human and the dragon, eagerly awaiting their reply.

Colum was caught in 2 revalations. The formost being the female dragon in front of him, he however diddn't notice the she was a she. He looked over her body for the mecanical arm the he had tryed to get his hands on before. When he couldn't find it, he asked, "Where's your arm?"

He also noticed the girl beside the dragon. She was rather lithe and slender, a little turn on for him. Also she was quite human, a huge plus for the boy, and lastly, she looked poor, and since he had some cash to throw around he felt his chance with her rise greatly.

Lucy happened to glance at the young man who walked beside the dragon, and realised that he was looking at her. While she was a little flattered that he (presumably) liked her, she was getting impatient waiting for their answer.

"Do you guys know Ulkna?" She asked again.

Colum sprang from Zeels back. As he hit the ground, he notched an arrow into his bow and leveled it at the dragoness. The moment he aimed this tool of destruction at the dragoness, he instantly found out a few things. One, this was not the iron armed dragon that had felt the need to dance on his chest. The next being that this dragoness was in fact a dragoness. Last being this dragoness was a spinning image of the dragon with the steel arm.

Coul tryed to use the little magic he had invested in only a few minets agao, thinking in a way that made it sound like his voice was screaming in his head, he focused the thoughts to Zeel, "IS THIS HOW DRAGONS HIT ON ONE ANOTHER OR IS SHE THREATNING YOU?"

Odd, I don't remember Colum saying anything of that sort before... Zeel thought. Or is this some form of magic? If it is, I don't know if this works both ways, but the second answer is more suitable. Or maybe his new freedom was just driving him insane. Why didn't he react fast enough? Ah, yes, he was still a bit used to just taking blows as a slave. But he wasn't a slave any more now, and he could do something about it.

Like lightning he jumped back out of the length of Aura's tail, using his wings to give him the boost back he needed. She looked injured - but she had just tried to kill him, so he had no pity for her. "Are you another one of Ulkna's soldiers? If so, I'll have you know I'm free, unless he has changed his mind and has ordered you to execute me..."

Colum shuffled back ever so slightly from the dragoness before him, now that his meat shield was gone, he had only a few inches of his oun skin blocking her talons from his heart. The boy bent his knees and prepared to dive to the right should she lunge or strike at him. He also let the tauntness of the bow relax a tiny bit, as holding the bow tight would quickly sap his energy.

Yes, scale brain, Colum announced to Zeel, [i]"this little bit of magic does go both ways... so no thinking dirty thoughts about this insane dragonness here. I don't want anything to do with your fanticies."

Don't worry about me, Zeel thought to Colum, I would be more worried about letting your thoughts about the human girl. I'll try not to let you get hurt too badly this time, by the way.
