Yeah, I remember watching that show with the kids I used to babysit. I was shocked when I heard the Wizard Peak theme in the credits. Pretty cool.

who (most everyone, i expect) remembers old Spongebob? and by that, i mean 199whatever up to about 2005. after that, there was some kind of change in the staff and the episodes turned to crap.

all the depth and spirit and REASON TO WATCH IT is gone. every character is a shallow cardboard cut out of what they once were. Spongebob doesn't have a personality anymore, he's just a programmed robot designed to run around and be annoying to everyone and make annoying faces. Patrick is stupid for the sake of being stupid. Squidward is a pretentious *bleep*. who is Sandy again? Mr. Krabs's cheapskate tendencies are accentuated to the point it's ridiculous. cheapskate conventions? i'm not making this up, by the way. every episode is a nearly plotless void of idiotic behavior done for the sake of being idiotic. there is no hidden charm to the show, no genuine humor, no "awesome" moments like the end of Band Geeks, the show can be seen as a building, standing tall, then they removed things like support beams and walls and melted everything that remained, and once it cooled enough for human flesh to touch it, Nickelodeon sent our youth to swim in it, to grow up one day and enjoy shows like Kendra On Top and Jersey Shore.

I keep hearing people say Spongebob used to be good. That really surprises me based on what I remember about it from grade school and what I know about it now. I remember watching it a long time ago and thinking it was stupid.

Usually I don't really mind too much when TV shows start to get worse. A lot of people complain about new episodes of Family Guy, the Simpsons, Spongebob etc. but although I definitely see how the show may have got worse I never really mind too much. I have to say that the newest episodes of Spongebob are pretty awful, though.
