"That's the idea of the game Sparx!" Cynder giggled. She jumped in a pile of flowers and rolled around playfully. She sat up, brushed the petals off her head and said, "So. What shall we play now? Fancy going exploring?"

Neo sighed as he watched. "Don't get yourself into too much trouble." he muttered to himself while walking around the group while still not being seen. "If only it was that easy. Kids will be kids, but some day they would learn the truth about things."

Rilup (a member of Sepher's pack) watched Ulkna. "Who is talking too?" Rilup jumped off his perch and free fell off the fortress.
After falling to a safe distance he spread his wings and flew off. "I gotta find Sepher............"

Cynder POV

Cynder gave Sparx a sly look, then said, "Um... The river! I like it there. Let's go!" She bounded ahead of the other two. For some reason the Silver River held some significance for her. She didn't know why...

Ulkna POV

The dark dragon's belly rumbled. There were not many decent meals going round in a place like this, and Ulkna didn't really want to have to try and eat a filthy, mangy old ape.

He sighed and took off towards another tower nearby. As he passed it, he addressed Galvore, his right hand ape-dreadwing...thing. "I am going hunting." He said, "Watch the tower." Then he sprinted forward over the large blue crystals. Galvore had to be one of the most gruesome half-breeds he had ever seen, yet for now, he was a useful tool.

Ulkna flew quickly over the silent landscape, making sure to stay far away from the thunder clouds - lightening was the one thing that REALLY hurt him. He headed to the forest - plenty of helpless mammals to slaughter there.

Neo watched as Cynder ran ahead to the river as he followed, making sure to keep all three in his sights and keeping himself hidden until the time came.

He followed Cynder while smiling , but kept some toughts about more exciting places to explore...The forbidden cavern came in his mind , but the advices he received about it still have the upper hand , so he let this thought besides and kept following Cynder , letting all doubts apart.

As Neo was moving onward he nearly stepped on the tail of a very surprised member of Sepher's pack.
Rafe stayed still as Neo passed on. Rafe had been watching Spyro, Cynder and Sparx play for sometime now, and was getting ready to head off, and alert Sepher to his discovery, but the arrival of Neo complicated things.
What the devil? A fully grown dragon? Alive? Here? Hmmmm..........interesting........

"Say, Spyro..." Cynder said as she skipped ahead of them through the forest, "Do you want to go to the cavern after this? I know you like it there." She turned and winked at him and smiled.

"That was exactly what I was thinking ! But Sparx won't enter in it , the thing is that he'll be too scared by the monsters inside to follow us...It's not for cowards , hey."
He stared at him like if he was challenging him , of course Sparx wasn't going to refuse...

Ulkna POV

As the dark dragon landed in the forest amongst the mushroom-shaped trees, Ulkna snorted smugly. Well this place is weird.

Creeping through the undergrowth, he kept his one eye peeled for something to torture and kill - his favourite game. Suddenly, he saw it. A small, brown rabbit nibbling on some grass. Ulkna's eyes grew wide and started to glow, a mad grin creased on his face. Using his mind, he grasped hold of the rabbit and lifted it clean off the ground. The creature squealed and thrashed about in midair, trying to break free of Ulkna's psychic grasp.

Suddenly, the rodent's body twisted right round, as if an invisible hand was wringing it like a sponge. A loud *CRACK* could be heard as the rabbit's spine snapped in two. Ulkna grinned maniacally, and as a final blow (as if snapping the rabbit's spine wasn't bad enough), he psychically tore the dead rodent clean in half and dropped the remains on the floor.

Walking up and examining his handiwork, Ulkna smiled in joy. Killing, to him, was his version of innocently teasing the creature. He felt no guilt, no remorse. Just one great big thrill. After all, horrific killing was what he was built for.

He scooped up the rabbit's severed top half and lay in it's blood, enjoying his meal.

Cynder POV

"Well, we all know that Sparx is completely fearless! He's NEVER ran away from anything." Cynder remarked sarcastically, playfully jabbing at Sparx gently with her tail.

Neo watched closely as Spyro and Cynder talked. 'There is a reason why that cavern is forbidden...' he thought. 'Yet, they would go there anyway. I have a gut feeling that the time has come for them to know.'

Cynder still trotted ahead of the group eagerly. She was looking forward to going to her favourite place, but she was aware that the river wasn't Spyro's favourite.

She stopped and turned to him. "Because I'm in a generous mood, let's go to the cavern first. I know you like that place, Spyro." She grinned, and then headed off to the left into the undergrowth. "It's this way, right?"

Spyro smiled , but still hesitate , then said :
"Emmm...Okay ! After we'll go to the river , no problem ! Let's go !"

He ran forward , in order to not get too much behind her , and possibly be the first to explore that exciting place.
A secret , hidden inside ? A treasure , a monster ? Who knows , he thought , while running at her.

Neo POV

Unfortunately, Neo knew why the cave was forbidden in the first place. There are just some places in the world where some people just hang out for the heck of it. It wasn't what was in that cave that was forbidden, but what was beyond it.

'And they wouldn't know.' thought Neo. '*bleep* apes would slaughter them if they didn't know how to fight.'

Ignitus POV

The dragon elder made his way down just one of the paths leading from the Dragon Temple, saddened by the lose of the place. The other Elders left to rally the remaining dragons, those who survived the siege on the Dragon Temple years before; but Ignitus feared they were captured. A day after they left, the Dragon Temple was attacked again, causing Ignitus to flee until he could get help from another dragon or (hopefully) find Neo again. He doubted he would find the later.

He looked up just in time to see the silhouette of another dragon land in the forest away from him, the very sight causing him to step back and get ready for battle. Luckily the dark dragon didn't notice him when in flight. He sighed in relief, but he remained cautious as he made his way to the forest up ahead, not knowing who else was in there.

Cynder POV

Trotting ahead of them, Cynder looked around the forest in search of this cavern. All she saw was trees, bushes, flowers... some more trees...

She sighed and stopped. "Spyro, you don't happen to know exactly where this cavern is, do you?" Looking around again, she spotted a flash of red scales ahead. She trotted over and gasped as a huge, red dragon towered over them. "Err... Excuse me, sir? Could you tell us where we are?"

Ulkna POV

After devouring both halves of the rabbit, Ulkna licked the blood off his lips and grinned with satisfaction. Now, back to Concurrent Skies. He crouched and outstretched his wings and prepared to take off. Suddenly, he froze. Very distant voices could be heard. One of a young female...

I might as well kill one more helpless creatures before I go back. He thought to himself, creeping through the undergrowth towards the sound. Why not? Killing... his one purpose...

Sparx watched nervously. "Maybe we shouldn't do this..." He said shivering.

Galvore growled at his new assignment, it wasn't watching the fortress that bugged him. It was who gave him it. He hated Ulkna, even more than he hated Malefore. He couldn't wait for the time when Ulkna fell and this fortress was his.
