Possible Reason Why The Wait on Spyro Games...

I'm sure someone brought this up, but did anyone consider that maybe the reason there are no Spyro games is because the company is waiting for the release of the nintendo 3Ds?

Most of the reason believed that we aren't hearing anything is because Activision only cares about games that will make them millions, which Spyro can no longer do sadly.

Agreeing what Rad said.

Video Games are very unbalanced. Why, look at a different game in Activision, it has an over-rated game (you guys know what game I'm talking about), making other game series (including Spyro) in that company look bad.

nah, i really think someone somewhere is trying to help all spyro fans like ourselves get a new game. i mean, he is an effing dragon. he could kick any military soldier's butt. i'm just saying.

Activision is just being a hermit with Spyro. Only showing information on their other "popular" games instead of the games they retained from Sierra, and not letting the producers tell us some info.

It is really unfair that there was a Crash Bandicoot game made this year (OK, so it is not a console game but it got really good reviews) but no Spyro games. Not even for the iTouch/iPhone.

But Crash Bandicoot was given a chance this year. So should Spyro.

Are you referring to the new Nitro Kart? For the Ipod? I don't think Spyro would be good on the Ipod. I'm basing that off of the fact that all the handheld LoS games were terrible. However, the handheld Crash games were good.

Trufax. ActiVision wants to bring Spyro back to the days of the originals. They're still in what I'd call a corporate battle. Sierra and I believe someone else owned the rights to Spyro during the new trilogy, but they sold them to ActiVision, and now they want them back before the next game console is released... so much annoyance tongue

Actually, Aura has a point. I forgot where I found this but I'll look it up again. It was a very good rumor that a game site had. I think it was GameSpot. Anyways, Insomniac surprisingly might still have rights to it. Which was the reason Activision didn't base it off the originals. Insomniac denied them the rights to Avalar, Elora, the original Dragon Realms as well as Gnasty Gnorc, Rhynocs, the Sorceress and Ripto. Thats supposedly why Activision made it differently. The game site did not understand why but they had some good facts about it. I read it when they began the legend of Spyro series and the sight said that was one of the reasons for the change. Also, Sony owns the classic three. Even if its redone it would only be for their console. I'm not trying to start a rumor or a fight. I will look for evidence tomorrow.

i dobt they will bend over for 1 consoul. spyro just shoves games out ASAP thats why DOTD was so crapp.

But then, Sierra did make AHT, featuring the original Spyro - Before changing it gradually to TLOS. And they still technically used Avalar too.

True, but we have seen others - Such as Agent 9, Professor, Sgt. Byrd, etc.

They probably forgot about her, seeing as she almost disappeared in YOTD.
