I forget who else was going, but I had to cancel the trip since the Manchester airport was closed from all the storms.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Activision has already talked about Black Ops and *shudder* DJ Hero 2... But nothing about Spyro yet. And there probably wont be.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Activision is just being selfish on not revealing any information on the next Spyro game. Only showing their other popular games in E3, and new ones that are being made.
I don't even think there is a confirmed new game to release any information about.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
The producers confirmed that they're making more Spyro games since 2008. With Activision cancelling the Spyro movie to make the Spyro series go in a different direction what more proof can you get? Even if we did ask the people of Activision, they'll just say the exact same thing "We can't reveal any information about it at the moment' or something like that.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
go in a different direction.
I believe in your email they may have just been referring to them going in a different direction simply by cancelling the movie. And the confirmed information about a new spyro game two years ago was in a forum that is now gone and before Activision merged with Vivendi. They have had ample time to nearly complete and confirm information about a new game. So my guess is they're probably trying to look for someone to develop a new Spyro game.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
This is most likely a TBA (To Be Announced) game. It could be a 2010 game or a 2011 game, I don't know, I hope a 2010 game.
This is not the only series I'm concerned. My 2nd game series ever (A skateboarding game) is also an Activision game.
So I'm concerned on both game series. But, I rather see my 2nd ever game series go than my first game series (which is Spyro).

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Or they're probably already working on the next game and won't bother telling us until they feel like it.
But really though, when Activision merged with Vivendi, Bobby Kotick became the CEO of Activision Blizzard. He claimed that Vivendi's game division Sierra "did not meet Activision's requirements and won't likely be retained." That's when Sierra closed and the forums were no longer available. That meant that Crash Bandicoot and Spyro would be retained by Activision. That is the point where there stopped being any information about any new Spyro game. So Activision is either looking for someone to develop it, or they've just given up on Spyro for new games that are more popular.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Crash and Spyro are already owned by Activision since 2008. And from the previous questions of the people who worked with Spyro gave us clues that there really is a new Spyro game being made, and that Activision is making a lot of changes, such as not letting the composers of the LoS trilogy return to make the music.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
I went through the same issue last year with Activision, but it was a different game series.
At e3 2009, When I heard that they'll release another Tony Hawk game (another game from Activision) they said that a game was in development, but wouldn't tell when it'll be out. Then a few months later, a new Tony Hawk game came out.
But for this series, the release date can pop out of nowhere (They can announce it in August or September).

I agree. Activition ((IMO)) are just a strict "Lets get money" componey, so i think they think making a new spyro will be a waist.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
One of my friends went to E3 and talked with one of the people who worked at Activision about Spyro, but he didn't reveal anything and this is what he said,
"Listen, I don't know that much about spyro, it isn't even on the big profile list, and all I can honestly say is yeah, I have seen some guys in the back working on some spyro stuff, but again I haven't seen enough, or cared enough to take a close look."

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Some news is better than no news - that's for sure. I had a feeling that Spyro wasn't going to be shown in E3. Activision just threw a "party", not an E3 booth. Sigh. Let's just wait for 2 more weeks.
In my world, I believe that there are many, many ideas that are waiting to be created; by inspiration, renewing an old idea, or just by accident.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
You can ever trust activision. Thats why i have a vendetta against them....
But no most likely greedy little Activision will not only never mess with Spyro again, if by chance anyone want to buy the franchise, or anything in that area (like making just a small comeback game or something) they will decline saying all this crap about how there planning on doing something with him.
Also they'll say how they will show it at E3 in <MAY>.
Dirty liars my friends...Not even good at it either...
I have no memory of this place...

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Activition are not good for there fan base. saying "its not very imporetent to us" just shows there going to not give mutch off a damm and be realy a$$s to work with.
That and they just said they don't realy cear to see mutch off it...sounds like sloppy developers if you ask me...

If my boss told me that the company wanted to "go in a different direction," I would assume it wasn't good news.

Re: E3 2010 and Spyro?
Whatever the case may be, it's not worth me running aimlessly across the internet searching for a taste of rumors for a new Spyro game. Ihave been doing that for about a month and found little validation. E3 2010 was pretty much my last attempt to get information for Spyro today and beyond, and nothing has come up.
I'm positive a new spyro game will eventually release, but for now, consider this my last post for a while.
