Yeah, I see that, but I don't really find it notable.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I think I get what you're saying.
It kind of makes you feel smarter, doesn't it, that you can see flaws that other people apparently can't? I know what that's like. There's not always an identifiable reason for liking stuff, though. Took me a while to figure that out. Also took a while for me to figure out that my attempt to "convert" people to see what was wrong with stuff I didn't like wasn't doing any good and was pretty much just annoying people.
I'm not trying to preach or anything btw, just trying to say that I'm not holding anything against you.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Latias fan: Who cares whether you like or dislike a cartoon show? No one here is going to treat you differently because of it either way, I don't think any of the bronies here are the kind that take the 'lesson of the show' too far and think that all people are their 'friends' just because they share in a common interest in liking a show, which personally I find is one of the more annoying aspects of the fandom (ponychan is pretty guilty of this). Of course there's nothing wrong with being nice, but some people really take it too far.
Also Stormy, I don't ever recall saying I thought the show was stupid I think my response was more "WTF O_o" to finding out that you and Mikey watched it (sorry if I'm taking your words too literally XD).
You, Lambda, and Mikey need to get back on the IRC as a side note.
Oh, and I'm with a group that will be streaming the whole of S2 live as they air, from what I've seen on the test runs there'll be no lag, and quality is at least SD (HD possibly). You may want to give our IRC chat a miss though as it's going to be pretty crowded when S2 starts, 4000+ at least for the fist 2 episodes.
You'll find the link to the site on EQD not long before S2 starts.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I could've sworn most of ponychan is taking the messages to heart for ironic purposes. Allows them to fill up on their irony quota, that is left woefully short because of pony obsession.
That said, I do like to think that bronies are merely a warning sign of a future shift in the public mindset. I have a feeling it could be pointed to in future sociological journals as such. Not a cause, you understand, just a symptom.
I remember watching ponies for the first time and desperately straining all my hate muscles in a bid to find fault. I didn't like the theme tune much. That's what I came up with. And I should imagine that even greater men have fallen.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Of course, you can post the link wherever you want (INB4 4chan), though we'll be switching domains to a .net soon.
Aceedwin: Hmm, maybe, but I've talked to other bronies who feel similarly to me, while I like ponychan it can often be pretty full of e-drama.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
LOL.
So we have fans, closet fans, and devil's advocate fans. Not really that uncommon.
I have still yet to meet and talk to a RL brony. my roommates still think I'm crazy for liking the show, but I don't care what they think.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
This just in: members of a website about a purple dragon admit to liking a cartoon about colorful equines! Will they be ostracized by their community, shunned by their friends? Will the shame utterly destroy their lives? Full story coming up on the 6:00 news.
Srsly guiz, it's just ponies. Although this is pretty amusing to watch.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Oh, yeah, I can admit I was in denial for a week or something Stormy, and then The_People demanded that Lambda watch the episodes, and the rest is history.
Edit: Hm, I know one brony who lives a train stop (about 20 minutes) away from me, RiverHippo.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I have a brony friend in the next dorm room, a potential brony across the hall, and another one two doors down. When the 17th comes, it'll be a party.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

i call *bleep* on Neotyguy's picture. normal, non-editable text doesn't have red lines under it as though it was being edited.
