I've actually never seen the dynamic between Spyro and Ember. How does their relationship work?

She and Bandit can go and have their armadillo/dragon hybrid kids. SpyroXCynder forever! Yes I do love the pairing it's sweet and cute! And probably my only favourite Spyro pairing before Hunter and Bianca of course!

Yup. I think Cynder's one of the few that actually suits Spyro. She's perfect!

Haha, didn't expect an actual shipping discussion to start here. tongue Basically, Ember had a one-sided crush on Spyro that was shown for about five minutes in A Hero's Tail. Then in Shadow Legacy she got a love letter from an armadillo named Bandit and started dating him instead.

Also I totally ship gnasty x cortex

Really though, I think part of the reason Cynder had so many teenage fangirls "back in the day" was that her doom and gloom made her relatable. You know, teenage angst and stuff like that. And no girl who plays video games and uses internet forums wants to be girly like Ember, like, eww!

anyway, it depends what mood i'm in. sometimes i want to play a game or deal with a character who's happier like Ember is, recent months have been like that, but sometimes i hit a Cynder kind of mood, and i can understand her feelings pretty well.

i don't prefer either, really.

I think Cynder could be cool if they had written her better. I have nothing automatically against characters like her, but if there's not much else to them I won't be very interested.

I guess maybe part of her appeal is that her character isn't that complex, and that you can kind of make up stuff for her. Same with Ember. Could be part of why there was so much fanfiction and art about them.

probably after Gekoncze's last post near the beginning, actually. a few of the posts after that are kinda spammy, but not many.
and yeah. it's strange, they had a lot of character traits, but not a lot of *character*. they never really built on the two characters much. you don't actually know that much about them; it's like, Spyro feels kind of like a friend to me, in a manner of speaking, whereas Ember and Cynder feel more like people i see around, but have only had a couple conversations with.

I've developed the relationship between Spyro and Cynder in a way that makes it unique to my writing style, and I think that's what a lot of writers do with this couple

Ember was just a background character, we know nothing outside she has a puppy crush and Spyro...

as for Cynder...well...she was evil...once, and she...didn't like the evil guy? so...really what do we know about Cynder? she might of been in the games longer but we still hardly know anything about her either!

Yeah, Ember was never meant to be all that deep as far as I could tell. That's why I liked her more than what I've heard about Cynder though. tongue
