Re: Games you've been playing
Ehh, I've been playing a lot of Minecraft lately. At first it was because I wanted to imagine the Isle Islands single player seeds as portions of a Spyro world (and I probably would've built a 1:1-scale-replica of a probably Spyro world), but then I got addicted to minigames on multiplayer servers. Hypixel's Skywars is one of them, but I've been playing on this one smaller server lately, one that is actually a network of even smaller servers that you can manage to your own will. The best part is that you don't need to advertise your miniservers on Planet Minecraft in order to get other people to play them.

Re: Games you've been playing
I've been wanting to try Monster Hunter for a while, but I feel like it wouldn't be that great on my tiny original 3DS screen.
Started Dark Souls III recently. After 3 hours, I've only made it through the tutorial and the first area. Super fun and beautiful-looking game though (and seemingly well-optimized on PC!)

Have you finished it? I'm still just starting since I have no free time anymore. I just made it to the tree boss which kicked my *bleep*.

haven't finished it yet, I think I'm pretty close to the end, though. the tree is nothing compared to some of the later bosses.

Re: Games you've been playing
Ori and the blind forest definitive edition finally came out on pc, played it literally all day today. Was definitely worth the wait, although I wish they were a bit more honest about the process of "porting" it from xbox one to pc. Xbox one and pc are basically synonymous. it does not take a month and a half to mess with an executable file. Probably not their fault, though, they almost certainly had an extremely restrictive NDA from microsoft telling them not to pull the trigger on telling their fans they need the game to be xbox exclusive for a bit so anyone has a reason to actually spend money on one.
Either way, it fixes basically every minor annoyance I had with the game, and adds an amazing new area with two new skills, new soundtrack, and also adds a difficulty select, and concept art/videos. I'm actually very surprised they did not add in keybinding support-- considering that it was a major complaint about the original and they're running on Unity, literally the most easy-to-use most customizable engine in existence (many games in Unity have a launcher where you can change the keybindings immediately.) If you own the game already, it only costs $5, and it's definitely worth it. If you don't, it's replaced the old version with its price being $20.

Ori and the blind forest definitive edition
I like everything I read about it other than the addition of fast travel. Running to the objective manually was a nice part of the game and just felt natural. Even having the choice but not using it feels weird.

Re: Games you've been playing
I thought so, too, but I haven't really felt like it's detracted from the game at all, and I've used it a few times. The new abilities completely change the way you play the game after you get them; in a good way. They're really fun to use.

Re: Games you've been playing
Ooh, I'll definitely pick up the definitive edition of Ori.
I liked traversing the levels in that game because the movement was so fluid and the art was fantastic, so I never minded the lack of fast travel. But having the option is nice.

I would say it's definitely worth it; already put a bunch of hours into it, and if you own the original, it's only $5.

Re: Games you've been playing
As much as I would like to say that I dedicate my free time to games, I usually end up with the intention of games but eventually is just watching certain users let's plays on youtube. Though when I do play, lately its been the first Spyro, Rugrats: Studio Tour (I found it for the emulator and was so excited!) Stardew Valley, The Sims 4 (which I only play to record speed-builds for youtube) and I just got the first Gran Turismo (spelling?) for the emulator.

Re: Games you've been playing
Stardew Valley seems really cool. I'm hoping it can fill the void in my gaming life where Rune Factory used to be. It's not compatible with OSX, though, sadly, and it's a pain having to dig out my falling apart and overheating Windows 10 laptop.

Windows 10 laptop huh? That's what I'm running... sometimes it gives me troubles. I'm worried that one of these days it's just going to croak, and its not very old either.

If your mac is halfway decent, get WINE and try to run stardew through that; it's more compatible with Linux, but I use it to run stuff on my Ubuntu laptop all the time, it works well for games that aren't very intensive, and I don't think Stardew is very intensive
in other news, Overwatch is way more fun than it has a right to be.

I'm in the same boat I gotta get back to playing the game's absolutely incredible fresh, unique, and innovative and a new favourite series of mine my fifth actually so I look forward to it. Right now I'm playing Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Pokken Tournament. Pokken Tournament is action-packed, fast-paced, and intense fun 10/10.

It's too bad that there's no Mac version. Though it's probably not fair to blame Windows 10 since I know your laptop is at least 6 or 7 years old... I haven't had the urge to pick up Stardew again recently, but that's mostly because of Dark Souls 3 and my lack of free time. It's a super chill game to just relax and play on weekends though.
I really wanted to solo all the bosses in Dark Souls 3, but ended up summoning for the Abyss Watchers tonight. :\ Hopefully I can 'git gud' soon

Re: Games you've been playing
I've been playing a bit of Doom 4, I was actually 99% sure it was going to be terrible because of the campaign stuff they showed at e3, and getting to play the multiplayer when they had the open beta for it. The campaign is much faster and more intuitive than the e3 stuff made it out to be, but the multiplayer is still pretty bad. It's really trying to be call of duty, and I don't think that's quite what Doom is supposed to be. Campaign is pretty great, though.

Re: Games you've been playing
I would actually be interested in playing DOOM if it wasn't $60. If it goes on sale I might pick it up, since the campaign gameply I've seen looks pretty fun.
Dark Souls 3 is still slowly plodding along for me still. I wish I had more time for games these days

Re: Games you've been playing
I've been playing an extremely addictive mobile game called Summoners War. It's a turn-based RPG where pretty much everything is determined by RNG. The goal, as far as I can tell, is to be able to complete all the dungeons as quickly as possible on auto mode so you can get the best stuff. I have some great luck with monster summons after only playing a few months, but I still suck. It's great because while I don't really have much time for video games anymore, I can still play this game passively while doing other things.
