Re: Games you've been playing
Still MGSV for me but I'm getting close to the end. *bleep*, that game is fun. I'd recommend it to everyone, but it's tough to recommend if you don't already love the MGS series like I do as the story (despite having a much less in your face story than previous Metal Gear games) really relies on knowledge of the whole series.
I'm trying to decide if I want to play Shadow of Mordor or Fallout 4 next. Also I'm planning on getting Fire Emblem: Heroes for my phone when it comes out in a couple days, so that should be fun.

Started playing Clicker Heroes about a month ago. It's really fun if you're into incremental games.

Still playing Splatoon despite the awful latency and connection issues.

Yeah! I think it offered some challenge without getting frustrating or not enjoyable. I didn't do the time attacks in Sly 1 or all the challenges in Sly 3 though. But the story was interesting to keep me playing through the whole trilogy in like 1,5 weeks or something like that Sly 2 is my favorite of those games. And I think I will get Sly 4 a somepoint now.

Re: Games you've been playing
I don't play any horror games because I get scared too easily and don't find that at all enjoyable But I did hear RE 7 was received very well. Supposedly 4 is the one to play if you haven't already.
I've been playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (lol) and just started Shadow of Mordor on PS4. I'm enjoying Shadow of Mordor so far, but I really don't like it's tutorials and how it teaches you to play. Just give me some subtle button prompts rather than throwing a bunch of paragraphs of text at me for each ability please. And instant fail-states for failed stealth kind of suck too. Guess that's what I get for being spoiled by Dark Souls and Metroid game design.
oh I played ddr too

Re: Games you've been playing
I wanted to experience RE7 since I heard it was so good and I loved 7, but I really really hate being scared. So I tried watching a playthrough of it on youtube and stopped right away because I was freaked out. I'm also really turned off by that level of gore, though I do realize it's important to what that game is.
I just finished MGSV last night so now I'm trying to decide what to play next. Probably gonna be Shadow of Mordor for me too. I also am finally finishing my playthrough of fire emblem awakening because I finally beat the stage I've been stuck on for forever

Re: Games you've been playing
I did end up playing through Shadow of Mordor. The nemesis system is freaking amazing... but without it that game would be so dull and repetitive. I found myself getting increasingly bored of the game with each new game breaking ability I unlocked. I still really appreciate the game for such an innovative system, but I wasn't as impressed with it as most others seem to be (nor did the announcement of a sequel excite me).
This is all not mentioning the way it messes up the themes and lore of Tolkien's work, but honestly I don't care since it's not canon anyway and it's just a video game.
I have Fallout 4 to play but I think I'm just gonna hold out on games until I get Breath of the Wild. I am so excited for that game. I'm instead spending my free time watching videos about video games, which I am making a thread for some of the really interesting ones that I think you guys should all watch.

I couldn't finish Shadow of Mordor cause I got bored
Been playing Breath of the Wild on and off all day... Super fun, but the Wii U version has some framerate issues which really puts a damper on an otherwise fantastic game so far

Re: Games you've been playing
I bought Tombi! 2 recently, and I've been playing it since Saturday. If you haven't heard of it, (It's called Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return in North America.) it's an RPG/platformer hybrid. I've been trying to get both Tombi! games since January, but as they're quite rare, they're expensive, so I've been waiting for complete copies that I'm willing to pay for to appear on eBay.

these games are a lot cooler / more entertaining on paper than they are in practice

Re: Games you've been playing
I have been playing lots and lots and lots of Breath of the Wild (85 hours so far). I've been immersing myself in it as much as possible: pro HUD, no fast traveling, etc. and it's been so fun. I love exploring the world and finding new things, even if it's just a unique environment. This game makes me feel like I'm actually going on a grand adventure more than any game I've ever played has before and I can't say enough how much fun I've been having.

Re: Games you've been playing
the original Legend of Zelda. this game is proof that you can suck at a game and still enjoy it a lot, defeating the classic argument, "you just don't like [insert game] because you're bad at it". there are plenty of easy games that suck, and difficult games that are fun.

I got Ape Escape for Christmas 2015. I decided to give it a third chance recently, and I've completed it 100% now. I got Ape Escape 2 earlier today, and I'm enjoying that, as well.

Re: Games you've been playing
A similar thing happened to me. I tried Dark Souls YEARS ago and hated it because I just kept getting frustrated after dying again and again. I have been slowly convinced to give it another shot due to my yearning for games that encourage exploration and don't hold your hand so I bought Dark Souls 2. I am loving it so far despite sucking and actually have a lot to say about it but not enough time to write about it right now. I'm really looking forward to playing the others considering 2 seems to generally be considered to be the worst. I'd like to play either 1 or Bloodborne next, whichever goes on a really good sale first.

I can't really bring myself to play a lot of games since I've dived in into some serious projects, I mostly play Blizzard games, with the addition of some classics like HoMM, Rayman, Spyro, etc.
