Spyro and Cynder discussion
Well heres just a place where you can talk about spyro and cynder (didn't know where to put this)
I simple think spyro and cynder are the same age because remember in ANB Spyro and Sparx were both the same age and born on the same day but they werent brothers and cynder hatched the same day but problly wasn't spyro's sis or cousin
Im on DeviantArt if anyone else i know on Spyro Forum thats on DeviantArt heres my gallery http://hero58.deviantart.com/

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
The game does make it very clear that Spyro and Cynder are the same age. They're from the same clutch of eggs. It's possible that Spyro may have hatched a little sooner than Cynder, but he would be at most a month or two older than her.
I guess since we're on the subject of these two, I like to think that they'll hook up when they get older. Cynder has a lot to work through, but Spyro is such a nice guy (in this universe ) and I think he's willing to help her out (and vice versa).
So tired... Must resist urge to fan ramble...and bring up bizarre story ideas...

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
I think the two will emerge as a combat duo who fight together, and the relationship thing is used as a comical side to it, where one of them tries to get involved with the seemingly-uninterested other. However, at the end of ANB, Spyro and Cynder seemed more serious with each other than interested.

It is very possible that would happen razz but we'll have to wait for Eternal Night to come out and see what happens

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
The fighting duo thing would be a great idea, LoneKnight. But I think that, referring to their relationship status, (I do think that they'll use it as a comical side to the game, yes) that they will both deny liking each other, thus adding awkward moments and whatnot in the next game.
Kind of like Ang and Kitara in Avatar, but that's completely off topic. xD
Even if they don't add that to the game, I think it's a brilliant idea! =]

Don't forget this is a kid's/young teen's game. They might stray away from serious relationships.

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion

Basically yes. I also don't think Spyro and Cynder are literal siblings, but you could think of them as cousins or even as metaphoric siblings because they came from the same generation of eggs.
Will there be a relationship? I would like to think so, as something that start out as quiet but genuine and deep, and then eventually emerges as affection, even romantic affection. I agree with Razz in thinking that he will care and help her (and probably reciprocated as well), as it would extend from his pity of her after hearing the complete truth from Ignitus and saving her life afterwards.
I also like the combat duo idea, but I think the relationship will be serious, probably very serious. I would think it would be "thicker than blood", and I'm sure you understand what I mean by that.
at the end of ANB, Spyro and Cynder seemed more serious with each other than interested.
This is because of context. Everything has changed and is changing for both dragons, and during transition times (particularly for such a huge transition) everyone naturally becomes more serious and somber. Think about how you would respond if you were in the situation.
They might stray away from serious relationships.
True, but I think if they are tactful in what and how much they show, they may not have to, and if they can be tactful, they shouldn't hide the relationship. It makes stories (and games that they are built on) that much better.

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
SpyroATrueHero summarized my thoughts pretty well.
I have a rather complex theory as to why Cynder and Spyro are not blood kin, so a romantic relationship between them won't be that disturbing. I doubt the games will go into the sort of detail that would explain any familial ties, but they don't really need to.
As for the games delving into a more serious relationship between these two, I think it's very likely. The series is fixing to get very dark (which it already was for something that's a kid's game).

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
Im thinking really dark, because if they tie these games into the old series, I never met a Ignits, Zerrador, Cryl, Volteer or Cynder...>)
Unhappy ending but makes sence [in a horrable way....]

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
Razz does have a point if they do have a romantic relationship it wont be disturbing well at least I hope not lol but anyways just because cynder and spyro came from the same place doesn't mean their brother and sister or cousins

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
I don't think they're going to tie this new Spyro series in with the old one. It's like what they did with Tomb Raider: it's a completely clean slate that has nothing to do with the original series save that some of the characters are the same and they're trying to revive it. However, given what Ignitus said, it's possible that the Spyro of the old games is a far future purple dragon of prophecy (in an age where even the prophecy has been forgotten).
My theory about why Spyro and Cynder aren't related uses a lot of basic world building detail from the original game. I spent a lot of time this summer sorting it out (because I'm a sad, sad fangirl who likes to do this sort of thing for fun ).

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
Us fans can still connect it to the originals, but in the 'canon' version, this is a different version of Spyro. I know that Jamieque mentioned a few times that he is under the theory that Spyro from ANB is actually the predecessor to the Spyro of the older games. That would make some sense, too, as maybe ANB Spyro was the first, but in the future, purple dragons born in the prophetic year are named Spyro?

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
It could have easily become a tradition after ANB to name purple dragons Spyro, though the Spyro of ANB was certainly not the first (Ignitus himself says that every tenth generation a purple dragon who is destined to do great things is born).

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
Okay, I'm just gonna give my theory about how these two aren't related to ease everyone's mind.
This was originally more complicated, but in order to go more closely with the canon story, here's the simple version.
All the dragons we have met so far living in the dragon realms have been male (except. of course Cynder). Obviously, this means they can't lay eggs. Ignitus says that in the Year of the Dragon the Dark Master attacked and that it was up to the Guardians to tend the eggs. Well, clearly, the Guardians didn't lay those eggs, they came from somewhere else in the dragon realms. My theory goes that there are a few different kinds of dragons but the ones we see in the series are the protector race, the Guardians. I imagine that no matter what race a pair of dragons are (I figured there were four, modeled after the original races of the first game) their eggs are going to hatch dragons of different races. So even if two parents are, say, Beast Makers/Caretakers, their offspring will be a mix of races.
I think that the Caretakers know what race a dragon is when it's still in the egg and they send all the eggs of the same race to the dragons who are best suited to raise them. So Guardian eggs are sent to the Guardians to raise the hatchlings. Therefore, Cynder and Spyro are not related because their parents are likely to be different dragons (I figure dragons don't lay any more than three or four eggs at a time).
Er...did that make sense? I can explain further if you guys want.

Well, if they do become a couple, how do you think it would happen? My ideas I've put into my story here, and there will be more stories about their relationship, so be on the lookout!

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
I think the relationship between Spyro and Cynder is likely to develop as a consequence of their friendship. He saved her life and freed her from, essentially, imprisonment (albeit, the prison was her own body, but still). It's likely that they're going to go through a lot of tough things in the upcoming games, which will hopefully cement their friendship and possibly push them into a deeper relationship. It also doesn't hurt that they're the only surviving Guardians their own age. When the next Year of the Dragon comes around, Cynder is likely to choose Spyro as her mate for reasons of friendship as well as not having any other options.

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
Brain hurts from so much facts!!! My thought on this is that Spyro does show some affection for Cynder at the end of the ANB. He Saves her from that portal thingy and caries her all the way back. I dont think it was just that she was being used by the dark master, but that he also felt something for her. I do support the fact that the dragons do have different races and that Cynder and Spyro are not related, but yet again Spyro knew something familier about Cynder when fighting her that one time so in a way they have been together for a period of time when at the temple place.
I hope that made scence, if not then my head ack has messed up my whole train of thought.

Re: Spyro and Cynder discussion
The thought that Spyro might have been attracted to Cynder when she was trying to kill him disturbs me greatly. I figure he saved her out of kindness (and a bit of shock; Ignitus did tell him the truth, but it's hard to believe some things until you see them), but any deeper feelings wouldn't have started to develop until later, after he'd actually gotten to know her.
Hee, sorry for the mini-fact dump. There's actually a lot more to all that info than what I posted. It takes up about five pages in my notebook.
