Is this game worth it?

I'm 16 and I've liked Spyro since I was about eight. Lately I've been less than enthusiastic about the new, so-called "Spyro" games that Krome has been spewing out. Needless to say, I was not too impressed by ANB's new "combat" gameplay style, and I was wondering if TEN is the same concept or if it's even worth buying if I didn't like ANB.

Now, I want honest reviews, please, so none of this ten-year-old fanboy/fangirl "OMG its the best game ever!!!! LOL!!!!!!" stuff. If you really think it's the best game ever, an explanation as to why would be appreciated.

Okay, it definately is a step up from the previous installment in the Legend series. There's the same amount of good storytelling as was in the previous, combat is definately a lot harder, the enemies are more like enemies and less annoying, and there's less mobs to fight. There's also collectibles, and the game itself is much more interesting and climactic than the first.

On the same note, the combat is still the same, so it's just the same way as the first, but a definate step-up. So, if you liked the first Legend game, you'll think this is much better - if you didn't like it, it's in the air. There's a good chance you will like it, as it certainly is better, but it's still your personal liking.

It's pretty much the same combat. But the game was overall better than ANB.

Its pretty much the same, but theres a few improvements. Except you know how ANB was sinch? None of that here, TEN is Hard hard hard.
Improvemets:
Dragon Time- Slow motion is cool
Training stages- somewhat better
difficulty- sorta a god thing but sorta not
collectables- All they do is unlock clipart and they are just really placed in random spots (and once you beat the level you cant go back to them until the end of the game), but they're a nie addition
Platforming- theres a fare bit more though its as tedious as AHT and there isn't THAT much of it

Even after this game, I'm still quite a fan of the older games. But this one was still fun. Still tons of fighting with the same style with a few added elements, but at least this time it was a bit more challenging. TEN is better than ANB in every way in my opinion; from the fighting, to the storyline.
Worth the buy? Most definitely.

you gotta have paicents with this game. it take longer because of the difficulty. but the unlockables are awesome

Thanks for your opinions, guys. I'm surprised I got some mature ones here. ^.^

I might end up buying it, but I'm a little short on money at the moment, so I'll wait to get a used one at Gamestop or something. Pokemon Sapphire and Diamond (and school of course) are keeping me pretty busy.

I belive the TLOS series in general had a great step up in plot style, I mean it gives it a way darker more serious plot, makes you feel the emotions in a more stronger way. the game play is... fine you could say, but for me, its all about the plot.......

I agree. When old Spyro comes back, i hope his Plot is as good as TLOS's. Eurocom did an... OK job on spyro, but Equinox were the real true blue ones. Sure ETD was a glitchy, short mess, but it still had that Spyro Feeling, aswell as the gameboy games. TTales would be AWESOMe with Spyro i recon.

well even though i liked the story, i would have much prefered it if it was the original spyro there. I kinda like a serious plot because it keeps you in suspence, but a semi-serious plot like the originals is good too. I also liked it how they had one character for comic relief (Sparx), Except i would have rather if there were many CR characters like The originals.

To be honest I don't think Billy West does as good a job of Sparx as what David Spade can do.

I mean to say David being a really great actor that he is, is practically made for the role, if you want someone that can be smart sarcastic cynical with a touch of humour about it - that's David for you.

But Billy - I would tend to think I'd Stimpy-fy him (Yep that's Stimpy as in Ren & Stimpy) he can't deliver those kind of lines as well as what David can.

I found DAvid spade better too, but i think they cut him either:
1.Many didn't like him
2. They found that Billy was better
3.Spade wasn't available
