I like to cheat the game because if I don't then grinding down the enemies' hp is a pain. Therefore:

Lightning: toss enemies with 50 hits worth of hp off a cliff.

Fire: wide range plus a second of breathing room to launch an attack against non-huge enemies.

Ice: for enemies near ledges and lava pits before lightning or when I'm feeling creative. XD

Earth: stuck in non-use because it uses more mp than it's worth.
