Indigo is still a shade of purple, thereby destroying the whole "only one purple dragon every ten generations" (approximately two-hundred-and-thirty to two-hundred-and-fifty years) rule. Malefor is a Persian Indigo dragon, a very deep purple. Yet he's still a purple dragon.

I love how people make a big deal out of something so freaking simple. I'll make it simple. Krome once made the games....her character model was black as it was suppose to be....Krome was kicked out....then EL started to make a game in THEIR OWN style. Obviously she is meant to be a black dragon still but EL used different model and coloration methods then Krome did thus making her shade appear in a more reflective black rather then deep black.

Seriously it's not that hard to figure out once you take the love of Cynder out of the equation.

Clearly we all can tell by now there were numerous graphical issues with the EL engine for the game. I don't understand why people can't just see Cynder's off color scheme as another one of these technical issues. <.<;

Does it really matter? They say she's black, and even though she looks purple in game and on the box-art, that's not what matters when you look into the canon.

If you want to make another point, it could easily be argued that the 'purple' dragon Spyro is more commonly seen as being pink in the earlier games, especially in well lit areas. Still, since they make a big scene about him being purple in the canon, that's the way it goes.

Guys, lets not forget that Purple (a combination of Red and Blue), is a color that is needed in order to create Black....

this is why, in certain lit areas, the purplish aspect of the color black may show every now and then...
