Re: The Dragon Way
The creatures advance, first a few smaller ones flew over the fences, then others began pushing at the gate. Dio stationed himself at the hole in the wall, scratching at any who tried to make it through.
You could stop it. How? They are trying to rescue you. What? They want to take you from this place. I- Listen! If you stay here, the battle will never end, not until everyone is dead. Save you and me. But-
Flashes of the village destroyed, bodies strewn everywhere, blood stench polluting the air for miles. Flies suck at-
Dio lunged at the next attacker ripping it's head from it's shoulders and throwing it back. The cheetah were shooting down the airborne grublins, while the spearmen held the gate shut. There was a harsh caw. Suddenly there was silence. For a few seconds everyone stared at the gate, where the sound came from. Then the gate pretty much exploded.
What happened next, Dio didn't remember, because a splinter the size of a cheetah spear had torn it's way into his shoulder.
You can stop it! No, I can't, not, not yet...
OOC: Okay Dio is their main target in case you haven't guessed. If they take me, they will retreat. Of course none of you know that! Aren't I just the meanest!

Re: The Dragon Way
The pair's effect on the grublins was considerable, although several cheetahs were hit by some of the attack, they were thrown back, while the grublins were distorted. The convexity attack had taken out about 25 enemies, but it was hard to be sure, they wouldn't stop.
Dio was still unconsious, a pool of blood forming about his impaled shoulder.
The trio were fighting well, holding back the grublins effectively, but the horde had no sign of stopping, and they couldn't fight forever.
Step by step, the horde advanced, sustaining heavy losses, but never retreating, ranks never seeming to thin.
OOC: Check it out! Commentary on a battleground! Bet no-one ever thought of that. Anyway, time to bring in some big guys!
IC:
The ground shook as a duo of moss giants (great beasts, about the size of two fully grown dragons, walk on all fours) slowly headed for the gates.
About a dozen archers preceeded them shooting resistance. They aimed a hail of arrows at the airborne pair...

OOC: Ummmm... Might I suggest evasive action? Or you know, you could be shot down and die, it's totally your choice.

Re: The Dragon Way
Drae was caught in the volley of arrows, 3 hit him, one piercing his chest, the other two making light wounds on his arm and leg. The arrow in his chest was painful, but muscle has stopped it form being leathful.
The twin giants split up, one coming for Dio, the other attempting to hold off the trio of warriors...
OOC: Okay riku, if you are going to completely ignore a volley of arrows for a while, you deserve to die, but I'm feeling merciful, so I'll let Dragolf live. He will be out of action though, capable only of thrashing from wherever he lands (because he won't be able to fly with an arrow in his chest!)

OOC: "I've had more arrows in my arm, but NEVER as bad as this!!!"
Seriously? Or are you being all macho?
Anways, the battle's almost over, I have two conclusions in mind. Neither of them include character deaths, to put your hearts to rest. My little minions aren't intrested in killing.

Re: The Dragon Way
OCC: God-modder. But I gotta admit... it's rather amusing, watching you and Riku argue. If you can call that arguing.
Cecile had managed to get a firm grip on the grublin's throat. It was rather disgusting, but she held on. Suddenly, she uttered a blood-curdling scream, for an arrow had pierced her forearm, near the base of her wing. She tried to flap it, but seemed to have lost all control, and spread out her other wing to try and slow her descent. Luckily, an arrow had pierced the grublin too, and it fell to the ground, dead.
OOC: Yay for gore!

Re: The Dragon Way
OOC: Godmodder? Well, you try to help make the story more exciting by taking control of the baddies, and this is the thanks I get! My archers weren't even aiming for Cecile... Oh, and by the way, your trio down there is about to get crushed by one of my behemoths. Unless you're up to the challenge.
IC:
The battle was nearly over. Almost all grublins lay dead, and those that had survived were retreating under cover of the archers, 2 of whom had died. The two behemoths still stood. One stooped to pick up Dio, while the other blocked the defenders, cutting them off from the other behemoth's path.
Only a few cheetahs had fallen, and only one dead (for now) but their arrows had little effect on the behemoth, who shrugged them off, swiping at the spearsmen.
The enemy archers hailed arrows at stragglers, seperated from the main group. But all in all, the enemy were retreating. Only minutes remained before the attackers would disappear into the night, taking Dio with them...

Re: The Dragon Way
OOC: Nobody actually did anything... Hmmm...
IC:
The behemoth threw Dio on his back, and charged at the gate, the rest of the attackers following in quick suscession. The beasts left the cheetah village, but not without its consequences.
The attack had not been unsucessful. The attackers got what they wanted, so they left the village for dead.
OOC: Yeesh, isn't that typical. I introduce the most exciting thing that has happened in this RP and all of a sudden, only three people are here.
