The Legend of Alexi: Evolution of Evil

Chapter 1: The first day

Alexi stood on a ledge, overlooking the valley. The chains around his forearms reflected the sunlight, his shortish brown hair swayed in the breeze and he opened his eyes revealing one perfect eye and one ruined eye. His ruined eye retains the colour in his iris and pupil but the rest has filled with blood and has gone red. He wore a breastplate with brownish pants and combat boots. In the centre of his armour is an amulet(much like the prince's armour in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, except he bears no resemblance to him) and around his neck is another amulet. Two identical blades rested on his back.

"Another day." he murmered.

"They always laugh at me."

His face was scarred, a scar ran down his face over his ruined eye and another ran diagonally down his lips. His arms were also slightly scarred. He fell off the ledge and went into free fall. He landed perfectly unscathed. He leapt off into the distance. Meanwhile there is a gathering outside the temple. Spyro and Cynder were greeting the students. They called out the roster and everyone answered except for one. Suddenly there was a figure appeared in the distance and he landed in the middle of the crowd. There were audible murmurings.

"A human!"

"What is he doing here?"

"What is wrong with his eye?"

Alexi walked to the front.

"Sorry I'm late."

"It's alright Alexi." said Spyro

"Wait, HE is Alexi?" asked a female student.

"Yes he is."

She just scoffed and walked off.

"Alright, we'll be inside sorting out who is going to dorm with who. Now I want you to treat Alexi with respect after all if it wasn't for his effort Cynder wouldn't be here. Take this time to get to know each other."

Everybody started to talk to each other. One dragon walked up to Alexi.

"Ignore those f**kers, I'm Nightshade." he said extending his paw.

Alexi shook it. The same dragon who complained about him walked over to him.

"Humans aren't welcome here." she snapped.

Alexi just stared a-emotional. She was a white dragon with and ice blue chest.

"Are you even listening to me?"

"Hey just leave him alone, Tanya!"

"Get lost Nightshade!"

Alexi stood up.

"Excuse me."

He walked past. He could hear the two argue. They backed away from him. Somebody else walked towards him.

"Greetings, I'm Hermann."

He was a greyish dragon with a german accent.

"Hi, I'm Alexi."

"Attention! We have reached our decision." shouted Cynder.

Spyro started to read out names.

"Nightshade and Lurker."

"Fiona and Adrian."

"Tanya and Alexi."

"WHAT?!" shouted Tanya

"Oh dear God help me." muttered Alexi.

Alexi walked to his room and stepped in. Tanya was unpacking and making her side clean. He just lay down in his bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Are you going to unpack, because I'm NOT unpacking for you!"

"My life is simple. I have no need for material possessions."

"What about that necklace of yours?"

"I need it."

"Really?"

She walked over and snatched it off his neck.

"Hey hey what the hell?"

"It really is quite pretty and now it's mine!"

Alexi was enraged but bottled it. She just put it on her bedside table(and when I mean bed I mean a circular nest in the corner, Alexi actually HAS a bed cuz he's human. Her bedside table was a small pedistal next to her nest). Alexi just lay down again and prayed that she doesn't put it on. The chain that it was around repaired itself. She was surprised.

"How?"

Alexi said nothing and just stared at the chains on his forearms.

"Hello!"

"Hm?"

"Never mind."

Alexi shrugged and ran his hand down the chain on his left arm. He stood up and walked out.

"Where are you going?"

"Out."

He walked through the halls and into a dojo. He opened a door in the back and there was a shrine and there were pictures of dragons on them.

"I will find the one who did this to you. And I will make him pay."

He kneeled for a while and stood up and walked back into his room. It was empty, he got into bed and slept.

The Nightshade in this one is different to the one in Rivals. So nothing was stolen. I just like the name Nightshade. Feckin' awesome.

Chapter 2: A student/teacher

Alexi got up early, he saw that Tanya was still asleep. He walked into his dojo and prepared. He kept the back room locked at all times, he only ever unlocks it when the room is empty. After a few hours the door opened and he heard groans, sighs and gasps.

"Morning class."

"It's not funny Alexi where's the teacher?" said one student named Tundra

"You're looking at him."

"This is defence against humans, you're a human, it makes no sense." said another student named Raven

"It makes perfect sense, I'm a human and I know the most about humans and how they work. Spyro said it was the perfect job for me."

"But aren't you a student?" asked Lurker

"Yep, but I'm also hear to teach."

They all murmured.

"Now, humans, they are brutes. They are greedy, stupid and heartless. They will continuouesly expand their dominion until there is nothing left. Also, humans are very cowardly when threatened they'll beg for their life."

The lesson ended after about half an hour. Lurker met with Alexi. He looked identical to nightshade except a little larger.

"Hi, I'm Lurker."

"Nice to meet you."

"You know Nightshade?"

"Yeah."

"He's my younger brother."

"Cool."

"Yeah, sorry that you are stuck with that banshee."

"Is she always like that?"

"Oh yeah. But she can be nice. Sometimes."

"How often is that?"

Lurker opened his mouth, paused, thought about the question and replied with,

"Almost never."

"I was afraid of that."

"Listen I have to go, I have some errands to run before the next lesson, are you coming to shadow training?"

"I could but I don't think I would learn anything."

"Why not?"

"I'm not dark, the only abilities I have are Veil, Mire, Shield and Empower(Ironically, Apoc has the same abilities)."

"Oh, okay."

"But I'll come and check it out."

"Awesome, it's in 2 hours."

"Cool. See you."

"Cheers."

He returned to the dorm and was confronted by Tanya.

"I haven't got time for you." he said as she was about to speak.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me. Leave me alone!"

She just scoffed and flipped him off as he stepped into the bathroom.

Chapter 3: The Nightmares Persist

Alexi had finished showering and was combing his hair. Tanya burst in without knocking, thankfully his still had a towel around his waist.

"Hey hey, haven't you heard of knocking?"

"Haven't you heard of locking?"

"Does it look like I have a f**king key on me?"

"Well that's too bad isn't it."

"F**K'S SAKE!" he shouted slamming the comb down.

He walked out and slammed the door. He looked on her side table and saw that his amulet was missing. His heart began to race.

"Where's my amulet?"

"Tundra has it."

"WHAT!?"

"It's just a necklace dude."

"Just a necklace. Don't you know what you could've done!?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You won't understand, just don't put it on!"

"Why?"

He was gone, he stepped into Cynder's dojo looking really annoyed.

"Hey Alexi. What's wrong?"

"Tanya has got my f**king amulet and gave it to somebody else."

"The one from the Oracle?"

"Yep."

"Has she put it on?"

"No, thank God."

"Just make sure she doesn't."

He nodded and sat down. Lurker leaned over.

"What happens if she does put it on?"

"She'll die."

"You kidding?"

"No, she's not meant to wear it, it's got my blood on it, only I can wear it. She'll be deharmonised and die."

After the lesson Lurker and Alexi ran to the dorm. She was about to put it on. Alexi used Mire to slow down time and grabbed it out of her hand. Mire wore off, he stood up.

"DON'T EVER PUT IT ON!"

"WHY NOT?"

"BECAUSE YOU'LL DIE YOU FOOL!"

She snatched it out of his hand.

"Fine, I won't put on your precious amulet. But I'm still keeping it."

"Hrr! Fine." Alexi grunted.

Later that night, Alexi was having a nightmare. He saw the dead dragons and his hands were covered in their blood, but he didn't kill them. He also saw his dead parents and the man who killed them. He awoke when he saw himself slitting the Oracle's throat with tears rolling down his face. He screamed and woke up. Tanya woke up but she didn't get up. He panted and stumbled over to the bathroom and threw up into the sink. Tanya peered through the crack in the door. Afterwards he sat down on the toilet, the seat was down so he just sat on it.

"Why me?" he said to himself burying his head in his hands.

"Why do these nightmares persist?"

He got up and walked to the door, she ran back to her 'bed' and climbed in and pretended to be asleep. He climbed back in and slept.

Chapter 4: Invasion

A man ran into a dark room and kneeled in the centre.

"Master Warlock. We found him!"

There was a man in a black robe floating in mid air, he landed softly on the ground.

"Where is he?"

"At the temple."

"Finally came out of hiding. Have you notified Lord Fontain?"

"He was the first to know."

"Good."

Meanwhile the next morning, Alexi woke upand saw Tanya was still asleep the amulet on her side table. He put on his breastplate and walked outside, breathing in the cool morning air.

"I wonder when I'll be getting that amulet back." he muttered to himself.

Spyro and Cynder were up, he walked over to them.

"Hey Alexi." greeted Spyro

"Hi Alexi. She still got you amulet?"

"Yep, she tried to put it on."

"Did she?"

"No."

"Good."

"I had another nightmare."

"Again?"

"Still the same one?"

He nodded.

"What are you gonna do?"

"There's not much I can do."

"Just take it easy, okay?"

"Okay."

Cynder brushed his hair out of his eyes with her tail. He walked back to his dorm and had a shower. There is also a bathtub but he's prone to falling asleep. He got out and saw that Tanya had left. He went to his lessons and got back to the dorm. She was there.

"The unevolved ape has returned."

Alexi shook his head.

"Aww. Did I hurt your feelings ape?"

Then he snapped.

"Now listen here, and listen good! You've been on my case since I've been here! What's your *bleep* problem with me? Huh? What the f**k did I do to you?!"

Tears rolled down her face.

"All my friends, my family, everyone was killed by humans. YOUR people!"

She ran out the dorm. He was still a little frustrated but was starting to feel guilty. He ran after her. She was lying on the ground in the field. He walked over to her.

"Tanya?"

"What do you want?"

He kneeled by her and put his hand on he back.

"I know how you feel."

"How? How can you possibly know how I feel?"

"Because the same man that killed your parents, killed mine too."

She looked up at him, tears still rolling down her face.

"His name is Leo Fontain." he said wiping the tears from her face.

She got up and rested her head on his chest. He rubbed her head.

"Isn't that sweet." said a voice.

He quickly stood up and saw the man in the black robe.

"Warlock!"

"Who is that?"

"Leo's sex puppet."

"You flatter me, Alexi."

"What do you want?"

"Special favour from Lord Fontain. He wants you and your little friends DEAD!"

He stepped back shielding Tanya.

"Why don't you use those fancy blades of yours?"

"Fine."

He pulled them out and the chains on his arms wrapped around his hands.

"Let's dance!"

Warlock chuckled and Alexi's arms were outstretched.

"What the?"

"After years of studying you I've finally found the souce of your power. Those blades."

Alexi started to howl in pain as he could feel the chains being pulled harder.

"Now that power shall be mine and you will die!"

The chains were pulled off his arms, spraying blood everywhere. Alexi screamed in agony and the blades wrapped around Warlock's arms.

"The Gods have abandoned you. And now you will die knowing that yo ucould never save your friends."

As he said that the students, Spyro and Cynder were all cahined up and muzzled. HE looked behind him and Tanya was gone, she was with the rest.

"The Gods have not abandoned me!"

Warlock cocked his eyebrow. Alexi pulled out a large sword. IT was the legendary Drakesword.

"So, you have a fancy sword, I have the Blades of War!"

"Well then use them."

Warlock tried to swing them, but they stayed in his hands.

"What is this?"

"Looks like you were wrong Warlock. The Blades only work for me, why? Because they were given to me by the Gods. The Blades are cursed Warlock, can you feel it? The chains heating up?"

Warlock started to strain.

"The burning will only get worse."

The chains started to glow, Warlock was screaming.

"The pain is unbearable. Then BOOM!"

As soon as he said that, Warlock's arms exploded, dropping the Blades. Alexi jumped up and stabbed Warlock in the chest.

"You lose."

Warlock turned to ash. His minions fled and the chains crumbled. Alexi's nose started to bleed, wounds started to open of his face. The chains wrapped themselves around his arms again. Cynder and Tanya ran over to him.

"Are you okay?" asked Cynder.

"I'm fine, it's just that when the Blades are torn from my arms, I become weak."

Tanya licked the wounds on his cheek. Spyro walked over to him.

"Thank you, Alexi."

"It's what I do."

End of chapter 4

Chapter 5: Truth

Tanya was at Alexi's beside, dressing his wounds, his breastplate was off so she could see all his scars. She felt the chains on his arms.

"So, you can't take them off?"

He shook his head.

"How did you get them?"

"When I was younger, I was unaware of what people were doing to the dragons. After some time I stumbled upon a slaying. It was Fontain, I knew too much, so I was captured and tortured. The things they did to me left these behind."

He pointed to the scars.

"Anyway, I prayed to the Gods, offering my soul for freedom. I wanted to protect the dragons. They gave me this weapon and my abilities. After I broke out of prison I founf out that Fontain had killed my parents. So I've been hunting Fontain for years now."

"What about your amulet?"

"It was given to me by an oracle. She said that I'm I put my blood on it, I will be given eternal life as long as it's not broken. But I had to kill her."

"Why?"

"I don't know, she just told me to kill her. So I did. I slit her throat."

He rubbed his head.

"I see."

"I need to get some rest. Thank you for being by my side."

She smiled. While he was asleep she picked up his amulet, placed it in his hand and closed his fingers shortly before kissing his head. After a while he woke up and felt something in his hand. It was his amulet, he put it on and stepped out. Everybody greeted him and asked if he was okay. HE saw Tanya and she ran over to him and hugged him.

"Are you alright?" she asked

"Yeah, doing a lot better."

She saw that he was wearing his amulet.

"Thank you." he said smiling.

Meanwhile...

"Lord Fontain, Warlock is dead."

"Warlock.....dead?"

"Yes sir."

"*bleep* it! Alexi you are starting to p*ss me off! Send Goliath and Juggernaut."

"THEM!?"

"Yes, they should be strong enough to take him out and then we can focus on slaying dragons again. We're behind schedule."

"*gulp* Yes sir."

Back at the dorm, Alexi was looking at his amulet, Tanya by his side. He brushed it with his thumb. The gem started to glow, he heard a voice in his head.

"Hello again Alexi."

"Oracle?"

"Yes. You grow more powerful each day but I'm afraid that won't be enough for what is coming next."

"What do you mean?"

"You are going to need all the strength ou can get. Rest, save your energy."

"Wait, what's coming?"

There was no reply, the gem stopped glowing. He put his head down and went to sleep.

Chapter 6: Cynder and Alexi

Tanya and Alexi sat in the courtyard.

"You seem to be quite close to Cynder."

"It's nothing like that. We're just good friends."

"What happened?"

"Well...."

Flashback:

Cynder was being carried away into a fortress. Alexi was hiding in the bushes, he climbed with walls to a barred window, there he saw her. Chained and muzzled. He heard a conversation going on, the guards were talking about the executioner. He used Empower to bend the bars.

"Don't be afraid, I'm getting you out of here."

She nodded. He broke the chains and escaped. They were in the middle of the forest.

"They know you're gone. We have to keep moving, they won't find us that way."

After a while they stopped to rest. He was very quiet, never said a word. She eventaully asked him.

"What's your name?"

"Alexi."

"Nice name."

"Thanks. What's yours?"

"Cynder."

"I like that name."

She blushed

"Thanks. Why did you save me?"

"It's what I do. You could call me a vigilante."

"Okay."

Just then they were confronted by three of the soldiers. Alexi stood up brandishing his blades. He swung the chain and sliced them all in half. He sheathed them and grabbed Cynder and ran like hell. Soon afterwards he reached the Temple, completely exhausted. Using Empower to increase his speed drained him.

"Thank you Alexi. You must come to teach the new students how to defend themselves against humans."

"I'd like that."

End of flashback

"And that's how it happened."

"Okay. You're very courageous for going into a human fortress."

"Thanks. I think we should be getting back to our room now."

"Yes."

They walked back to the dorm.

Chapter 7: Juggernaut and Goliath

Alexi woke up. The sun's rays beaming on his eyes through the gap in the curtains. He grunted and got up. He took a shower and brushed his teeth.

"More lessons. Ugh God!"

He walked to his dojo and waited for the students. He was teaching them how to kill a human quickly. After the lesson he was walking back when he heard a loud crash. He went to investigate, there were two giants terrorising the students.

"Juggernaut and Goliath!"

He ran towards them, blades drawn. He extended the chains and they stuck onto Goliath's stomach. He swung underneath him and stuck the blade in the back of his neck, killing him instantly.

<Juggernaut won't be as easy as his brother.> he thought

"Brother dead? I kill Alexi!"

He stomped his foot and it sent Alexi flying into the wall. He pushed himself out and staggered a bit. He chuckled slightly whilst wiping the blood from his mouth. He ran to Juggernaut who picked him up and threw him into the ground. Alexi grunted and struggled to stand.

"Ha ha ha! Alexi weak. I crush little human boy."

Alexi dodged his foot but was hit by his hand. There was audible cracking noises while he bounced along the ground. He coughed, spitting out blood as he struggled to stand up.

"I end it quick, so Alexi don't have to suffer."

Alexi's chuckles soon exploded into rapturous laughter.

"STOP LAUGHING!"

Alexi was slammed into the wall. He fell to the ground lifeless. Juggernaut turned around and laughed triamphantly.

"Necklace was shattered! Alexi dead!"

Alexi did the same trick with Goliath but he landed on Juggernaut's nose.

"You didn't shatter the Amulet. I wasn't wearing it."

He shoved his blades into his eyes. Juggernaut and Goliath turned to ash and blew away. The wounds on Alexi's body healed. He went back to his dorm and collapsed on the bed. His body felt heavy.

"What...is......happening?"

"What is it?" asked Tanya.

"I......can't..........I can't.........breathe!" he gasped.

"Oh my God. SOMEBODY HELP! HE'S DYING!"

Alexi struggled trying to breathe, he started having violent convulsions.

"Help...........me! Dear.............God.............Can't..........Hold it!"

Chapter 8: Virus

The medics were trying to revive him, Alexi was trying to breathe. Eventaully he stopped breathing and collapsed and was lifeless. However his heart was still beating, the amulet was keeping him alive. The medics moved him to ICU and placed him on life support.

"Is he gonna be okay?" asked Tanya

"As long as he has that amulet, he'll remain in a comatose state, his body won't get any rest, so it'll be an uncomfortable experience, there's nothing we can do."

"Okay."

Tears were rolling down her face as she watched him through the window. She went back to the dorm, she started to weep.

"Don't leave me Alexi, come back to me soon, my love."

Alexi was dreaming, he was in a meadow and he saw the Oracle. His body felt heavy and hindered.

"Leo has implanted a virus into you, you're in a coma and you're body is not getting any rest. You are getting weaker."

"How? How did I get this virus?"

"During the fight with Juggernaut, did you notice a weird scent?"

Alexi thought back and remembered a stragne smell coming off of Juggernaut's shoulder.

"Yeah, it smelled like nutmeg, vinegar and almonds."

"You have inhaled a toxin that works like a virus, it's cyanide mixed with various unknown chemicles, it's harmless to the skin but when it enters the lungs, it works in half and hour and you die shortly afterwards."

"Is there a cure?"

"No, but you can expell the virus from your body."

"How?"

"I'll help you."

The doctors heard him inhale. They ran over and he tensed up and clenched his fists. Alexi felt the toxin working around his body and was forcing it out. The pain was unbearable he started to scream. The doctors tried to hold him down, he was convulsing and screaming again. Tanya went to check on him and saw him convulsing and screaming.

"Bear with the pain, it's almost over."

Suddenly a green gas poured out of every open pore and he woke up screaming. The gas was harmless now, he pulled out the life support and clutched at his head.

"Where is Tanya?"

She ran over to him and he held her close.

"I don't know what I'd do if I lost you Alexi."

He said nothing, he just kept on holding her.

"It looks like the problem is over, Tanya, he needs to rest."

"It's okay Tanya, I'll be fine, the virus has left my body."

She kissed his head and left. Alexi went back to sleep.
