"So you aren't this warband's leader."
"I am the leader of the town."
"I'm not here to debate that."
"Miss Mull, you are in a very risky situation are you not? Here we are, surrounded by soldiers, at my command, all ready to kill you."
"They're not soldiers. They're just boys." The men around her bristled. They didn't join up to be insulted, she was sure of that, "I will kill the first man to attack me, and I reckon I can take the second man as well. Any volunteers to be the third man?" They were boys. The men shifted uncomfortably.
"What did you want anyway?"
"I want to find the real leader of this gang."
"What for?"
"To kill him, what else?"
The old, but quietly muscular dragon smiled lightly, "I suppose you are some kind of leader for the resistance, hm? I play the game too."
Mull gave a vain attempt to stare the man down. Pretty useless. The guy could stare a spider till it evolved eyelids to blink.
"The man you are looking for is currently living in Warfang, in the imperial houses."
Mull hid her shock quite well, at the very least none of the other men in the room could have noticed. At least.
"Of course," he grinned, "It would be a poor show on my part to simply allow you to continue. Men, attack."
The guards stepped forwards, and then hesitated, remembering her words. Hesitation was good, she thought, and dove through the open window, and caught a tight current, flinging herself onto the roof. She watched as the soldiers burst out, scanned the sky, and automatically assumed she had taken the drop. Warfang, eh? Well, that was a turn-up for the books.

OOC: Bit of a failure ending, but I am le tired.

As Ophelia began to descend upon the town, she spotted the tallest building. Something was sitting on the roof. "Huh?" She sped up and the image became less blurred. "Mull!" She cried as she landed beside the green dragoness. "What on earth are you doing up here?" She glanced over the side and observed several confused looking soldiers looking around puzzled. "Oh I see." She said, quickly hiding herself. "Why are they after you?"

"Och, you do have a habit of turning up at awkward moments." Mull shook her head and peered back over the edge of the tiled roof. "I'm a rebel, to them. Frankly, I've always been a little pro-conformist. The world would be so much better if everyone was generally the same." She realised she was going off track, "Turns out the man I want is in Warfang. I don't suppose you realise what is actually going on here?"

"Warfang?" She had heard of the huge city to the south. "What man? The one who is responsible for all these attacks?" She clawed quietly at the roof and gritted her teeth. "And no, I have no idea what's going on. But there have definitely been more attacks than usual lately." She peeped over the roof at the soldiers, who had started to spread out in search of Mull. She looked back at the green dragoness. "Would you like me to go and distract them somehow? They don't know that I know you."

"You have no authoirity over them, so what makes you think they are going to listen? Of course, I can just assasinate them..." he added wit a glint in his amber orbs. It was hard to tell if he was joking or not, or if he was looking at her, as he had no pupils.

"Oh well that's your speciality isn't it?" Ophelia huffed, a slight jokey tone in her voice. "It's OK, I can handle it." She winked and glided down to the ground near the guards.

"Ugh, if she gives us away..." Mull turned to the black dragon and gave him a good flick round the ear, "Suppose I've got to babysit you murderers, eh?" She sighed, "Well, let's get moving. Time to go grab a few things."

"Go on then. You sort out that lot..." She gestured to a group of soldiers. "...And I'll sort out these." She trotted to a group of them. They turned and looked at her strangely.

"Can we help you miss?" One of them grunted rather impatiently.

Ophelia put on her innocent, scared face - big eyes, tilted head and a trembling lip. "It's terrible!" She cried. "A member of your police force has been murdered! In that house over there!" She pointed to the small house that the family of fawns lived in.

The soldiers dashed to the house. "But don't hurt the family - they are innocent!" She called quickly. She flicked her tail, satisfied, and turned to the others. "Works every time." She grinned.

"Yeah, real clever. You're lucky they're not decent soldiers. Now, walk and talk? It's just that there's only so much time you can spend loonig at a corpse before having thoughts about the person who "found" the body." Mull headed in the general direction of the local toolsmith, a rather shady character. Well, shady characters were really very useful when you had them on good terms."
