Re: power to the people's art thread
Awesome I'll print it out right now. Also I'll have to post either late tonight or first thing tomorrow because it turns out all day rain is shorter than it used to be. Sorry.

Aww, didn't Gaul get enough abuse from Spyro? ;_;
Well, I have no doubt you'll do it justice, even if I might not be able to look.

Re: power to the people's art thread
Wow, PttP, that is gorgeous! What size paper do you use? And how do you make such lovely layouts and straight lines?
Also, do you have an image editing program? Photoshop is very useful for fixing up dark scans.

Re: power to the people's art thread
To tell you the truth Razz I just use normal size paper and for the straight lines I use the corners of books so the line stays absolute. And I would like to talk about photoshop with you because I want my art to be consistent and I would like for that consistency to remain at top quality so answer back if you can tell me anything about it. And also... I... uh... have sort of a problem. I can scan the picture but I can't copy it unless it is saved under scan and I kind of did that by accident. :-[ So if there is any hold up I just wanted you all to know why.
And thank you all for the positive feedback. I really needed it today.

Re: power to the people's art thread
Wow you do really awesome comicstips!
I can't stop looking at the layout - it so cool! ^^ I'm so bad at doing layout I gave up on comicstrips...it's not my thing anyway.
But I gotta hand it to ya, your's are really AWESOME.

Re: power to the people's art thread
I am so with you, Pip! I can't do layout for beans anymore. I had to resort to a sort of strict pre-formated thing.

Re: power to the people's art thread
Well what I do is get a straight edge to trace out the box. I come up with the panel ideas "cough" during my classes "cough" so my mind is not so stressed on coming up with something and I can continuously enjoy making the comic because let's face it, my art wouldn't look half as good as it does if I didn't enjoy it. And I've really come to enjoy drawing teen spyro. About keeping things consistent, to tell you the truth I always guess at the physiology. Though I do have reference and my art is similar it is never exactly the same consistency and I don't like that. So feel free to post any constructive critisizm because I would like to give you all the full benefits Shade105s fanfic has to offer. Also I'll be done with the second page tomorrow.
Summary:
-only draw comics and/or strips layout when you are not so pressed to get the job done
-Make a profile of whatever character you are making so you have practice in consistency and a point of reference of your character in different positions
-Keep it fun. If you're stressed out over something don't draw out your anger. Paper has feelings too. Also if you're stressed your art WILL suffer
-Study the anatomy of whatever species of character you're drawing. For example, I got a drawing book on fantasy creatures and it shows you the direct layout and baseof dragons among other things.

Re: power to the people's art thread
Ooo, thank you for the tips, PttP. I'll have to experiment some more with my comics and such. And I never draw if it's not fun (which is one of the reasons my commission process is so bizarre and why I don't take requests).

Re: power to the people's art thread
Yes Guilty. I did add a couple of things to make the storyline portion easy on me. Yo soy muy perezoso. (I'm lazy) But you know how sometimes the movies differ from the books. Well I guess it's sort of like that only in comic format. And as a plus side it doesn't get worse like the movies do. It doesn't get any better but I'm gonna call average a win.
I'll have the next page up and running as soon as Saturday.
At any rate I suppose it was not nice to change without your consent first. I'll be better about that in the future
