Re: Problems with iexplorer

I have the same problem, so I don't think it is something with your computer. I tried to upgrade from IE 7 to 8. It didn't help hmm

Make sure Javascript is enabled. SpyroForum will not display at all without Javascript.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

As far as I know, I have Javascript enabled. The page is visible for up to 1 second before it turns white.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I'm in Firefox now, because I am encountering the same problem. I use IE regularly, and when I try to view a forum, I also get a blank screen. It has nothing to do with Javascript.
The bottom right of IE shows that there is an "error on page". On closer inspection, it appears that there are ads (or otherwise external sites) that might be causing this; as external sites try to open up, they're subsequently blocked. I'm guessing that the blank screen is the result of an ad link that isn't fully loaded then. Detailed error message says:
"Permission denied
URI: http://static.trafficrevenue.net/d.js "

This hasn't happened to me before. I'd like a closer look into the issue if anyone can help please.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I haven't tried my IE yet, but i've tried Chrome and Firefox, both seem to work fine. smile

Edit: My IE does the same thing, @ people it doesn't work for. Maybe try switching to Chrome/Firefox? (Chromes faster tongue)

Re: Problems with iexplorer

There's got to be a better solution than having people download a new browser. Even if this is the easiest way around it, this site would lose a lot of traffic for other IE users lurking the site.

I should note that with IE a page on this site may temporarily load, but will quickly become blank - further indication that additional sites (ads?) are being processed afterwards?

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I just don't use IE at all anymore, much more comfortable with FF and even Opera

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I don't use IE either; I just used it to test this. Usually I use Chrome or Firefox, and they work just fine.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

Contrary to Firefox's reputation, there are actually many other cases where people have this same problem on other sites using Firefox. Just search this on Google, and people with all different kinds of browsers have described the same problem of a web page loading, then turning blank shortly.
What someone said: "This seems to be related to pages with auto reload [e.g. updating and reloading items and ads]. A page that doesn't reload is likely to remain visible."
Some people have also suggested to disable some plug-ins, such as RealPlayer [I loaded IE without any add-ons, this didn't work]. If anyone still suspects it's Javascript, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I doubt that'd fix the problem.
After some research, I can't really pinpoint a single answer. As I kind of expected, people had all sorts of suggestions and solutions, and almost all of them were not helpful...

I think SR should go look into how this site loads its pages - is auto reload the issue?

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I found out that I can view the site with IE without problems if I am not logged in and don't have Protected Mode enabled. If I log in or enable protected mode, I get a white screen.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I have encountered the random annoyance withing FireFox now and then...but nothing compared to what I get every time I even try to use IE, that and the ones I find are usually pretty simple...but everyone else has different tastes I'm sure

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I downloaded Chrome.  IT works.  But somebody please let the rest of us know when the issue is resolved please.

Re: Problems with iexplorer

I, too, am having this problem. I have been using Internet Explorer since I
first began using the Internet [a bit over 10 years ago], and I'm a bit curious
on this problem. I have never had this problem before, until recently when
trying to log on to this forum. And it was after somebody sent me a PM about
me having unwanted things in my bio [downloading music]. Until the problem
gets resolved, I will use Google Chrome [which is worse than IE in my
perspective] only for the use of getting on SpyroForum.

Hope for the best...

I have Javascript enabled on my IE and IE won't work for *beep*! So I've decided to instead use Firefox instead! Screw Microsoft piece-of-crap Internet Explorer! Go Mozilla Firefox! LOL! XD!
