spyro dawn of the dragon question.

i wish there would be a spyro movie :'[

I'm pretty sure they don't. That would be rather odd, to be sure.
No, what actually happened, something you'd know if you'd paid attention to the melodramatic prose, was Ignitus was assigned the role of chronicler to document "the new age", and the original chronicler decided to spontaneously die in a shiny light rather than enjoy the world outside his cave.
To reiterate, Ignitus took on the role because a new age was dawning (honestly, you kill one meglomaniac and it's a new age all of a sudden), and the original chronicler had a hazy idea of a tradition that meant he needed a successor.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

I am pretty sure the he was like many before him..often a failure or etc one who longed for the knowledge after death of thier main death.
