what prior game don't have but starting this games does

In prior games before this game, the series was missing something which cause me to lose interest in the series (then my PS1 broke which started my 3-year absent [1 year with a broken PS1 and 2 years I abandoned the Spyro Series because the first 3 games was so boring]).

By the time that ANB came out, I got the game and the missing piece was found.

That missing piece was emotion

And the first 3 games don't have emotion, but ANB, TEN, & DotD has emotion, and I'm a person that want emotional games
