!!!??!?!!!??! Tuco the Balloonist!

After reading a Spyro the Dragon FAQ the other day, I discovered that if you talk to Tuco (the Balloonist in the Magic Crafters Homeworld) before you've rescued five dragon eggs, he will give you hints on where to find them. Upon trying this out, I discovered he will offer to give you a lift directly from his dock to Stone Hill, Dry Canyon, or Cliff Town!! I have played this game for years and still never knew about this. Did anyone else?

That'll explain the game shark code that gives the options to go to any level by baloon shown on Youtube somewhere. Why they expect the player to not find at least five dragons already at that point is beyond me.

They had that in Spyro 2 and it was more obvious. Pretty nifty never knew they had that in the first one.

Do you mean warping with the guide book or something else?

Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

If you talk to Elora at some point then she'll offer to show you a portal where you haven't gotten a talisman yet.

Re: !!!??!?!!!??! Tuco the Balloonist!

i tried this the other day, it's interesting to note that he doesn't necessarily start you at the beginning of the levels. in Stone Hill, he starts you right in front of the egg thief, in Cliff Town he starts you near one of the bridges, i think the only place he starts you at the beginning is Dry Canyon, because the egg thief's right there.

after that, he mentions either the homeworld or Wizard Peak.

That's really interesting. I'm learning new things about this game every day... I've actually been learning a lot about this game in particular lately, not only because of this forum, but because I've been watching any% speedruns of the game. Apparently it's possible to skip Twilight Harbor and get straight to Gnasty Gnorc; it's usually referred to as "Twilight Harbor skip." I can't find a video for it, but here's a much more practical but MUCH harder skip where you can skip past Gnorc Cove AND Twilight Harbor:

Edit: Here's one of the Twilight Harbor Skip:

This is on the PAL version, where it's easier, as the jump arc is a bit higher, but it is possible on NTSC. I watched a twitch speedrunner do it live and it was pretty awesome to watch.
