Found another video on the skylander's game that features detailed info for the main characters.

The guy is a bit cheesey, but the close-ups they got of the toys are the best I've seen.

And look at this concept art. What do you think of this!?

I find it interesting how that concept is not Spyro-ish at all, really. Even less so than the current Skylanders Spyro. Makes ya wonder how the went from original spyro to this thing, and then back to what they came up up.

Of course, there's the small chance that what we're looking at isn't Spyro at all...

The toys are so detailed. I was never expecting that.

I'm guessing the "element" is some kind of treasure chest toy that gives characters of its element bonus powers or something.

EDIT: Wait, does that article say "magic item" and not "element" to anyone else? As in, "you can have two characters and one magic item on the portal at a time."

That's how I read it, too. But I'm feeling like this guy wrote the article doesn't have all of his details polished.

Found a couple videos that shed light:

- Skywalker Sound is being credited for sound effects (not really a suprise, since they do EVERYTHING)
- He mentions a great V.O. cast. The only for sure voices we know are Kaos and interjections made by the characters, Spyro and Trigger Happy in particular.
- Trading cards and webcodes that allow you to play your character online. Where a portal fails, a webcode prevails. Still noted as seperate experiences. Really trying to sell the complimentary experiences, which will be interesting to see. Kind of cool to note that you can have a virtual adventure with a character and not have to buy the game.
- The ability to build your own world. WHAT!?!? Well, we'll just have to see...
- You can use the trading card webcodes to unlock different characters.

Also he says that playing the game on multiple platforms allows you to 'continue the universe.' LOL. So Activision has the "Save the World" button and they are giv- ahem... selling it to us. Oh, dear...

And the dramatic entrance Activision gives Skylanders. Look closely at the dramatic trailer and you'll see parts of the game you haven't seen yet. Looks really good.

- Snowy realm
- Antagonist introduced as an 'old enemy'
- Another humanoid character!
- Some kind of 'tank' toy is seen, might be a character, who knows
- There's this blue monster that looks like he takes on the role of a hero, which confirms some of our speculation. If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it.

Thats very intresting, the 3DS version will be a platformer whie the other versions are action games.

What?! No jumping? *frustrated noises while I think it over* Err... well... grr... okay, I guess I can accept that so long as Spyro can still fly. And Gill Grunt has his Super Mario Sunshine water jetpack thing, too. So I guess it's okay...

The no jumping sounds disappointing, but I guess it'll just be something to get used to.

Yet fans are automatically hating this game now because jumping wasn't included. Spyro can still fly, but the some of the ground characters only jump when they're doing their attacks. What about Zelda or the other games that didn't have jumping in them?

I don't think the intelligent argument is that a game where you can't jump is bad, but it's just that jumping is something Spyro has always been able to do.

They style of gameplay they are going for seems to relate more with LoS than the original trilogy, which I'm sure plenty of Spyro purists are happy to hear. (sarcastic)

Well they had to change the gameplay because of the free-flight.

Speaking of which, I'm wondering now how Spyro'll fly in Skylanders. If he can fly, can't he skip all the turtle-pushing puzzles? Is there going to be some kind of limit or flight meter?

I really was not expecting those gems. They look almost exactly like the PS1 gems! That and those sheep are two shout-outs to the classic games, so even if this game is a new continuity, it at least shows that the developers like classic Spyro.

Also judging from the gameplay video, it's looking like Gill Grunt, Spyro, and probably some other characters can fly over water and bottomless pits, but there's a height limit. Interesting... (I guess it's to make up for the lack of jumping.)
