Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
Where's the "both" option?
I personally prefer if they mixed it up. But, if I had to choose, I go with classic.
Who knows? My biggest fear is that the game would be the same style as Dawn of the Dragons.

They should hire professional writers before they do anything. Then, they can get good voice actors, make Cynder fat, and change Spyro's personality back to the way it was in the original three games.

Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
Lawl, exactly what I wanted to write like yearofthe.
I'd like to see a mix of it. A lot of elements were taken out of the classic Spyro games when we switched over to the TLOS ones.
What if they come up with something creative, finding both elements back?
I'd be surprised. but if I'd really choose between one of them, I'd say Legend series. I dunno, I just liked the more 'serious' games.

Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
As we have progressed many of us regret having to leave the original Spyro behind, but alas now we are older we can realize that those games were based for age groups for 3 and over, obviously not for teens. I would adivse the age group for the original games 3-8. However do not take my statment personally as it is stated on the cover of many of the original games, 3 and over, but of course that doesn't stop some teens from playing. The newer games have matured much making the game playable for a larger variety of age groups. Also the games graphics, art designs, ideas, and storyline have improved greatly making it more accessible for older people.

That's a great point.
Most of us, if not, all of us when the originals came out, we were around the late single digits or early 10's. now we're in our teens and early adult years.

I don't mind which path it follows. I love the Legend series and Originals equally. But it would be nice if it was an Original because I miss those.

I think they should go for a new approach, but make sure there's still an air of the classic Spyro in there. Like the style of A Hero's Tail, maybe.

Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
I always see someone post "Where's the 'Both' option?" when Original Spyro and Legend Spyro are the two options of a poll. I love both timelines, but I think they should not be mixed, like Live Wire Mountain Dew and that minty Coca-cola product from some other country that I can't think of right now (tried it at The World of Coca-cola). Both are great, but the two would probably clash. I guess it is possible to be done well, but I don't think having the same Ember or Blink from AHT in the game would help.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
making it more accessible for older people.
You don't mean the Call of Duty, Fifa, Fallout players, do you? I passed some good word about LOS to my classmates but they said that even LOS is not in their interests. And I moved schools a lot and no-one I know plays LOS but some of my friends (who are in their late teens) play the classics instead and are pretty content.
The newer games have matured much making the game playable for a larger variety of age groups
Only slightly. The Ratchet & Clank series have gone from 12+ to 7+ during their transitition to the Playstation 3. That is a big age rating change.
Also the games graphics, art designs, ideas, and storyline have improved greatly
Graphics - Yes, I am not going to argue with you on that.
Art designs - They are different and suit the LOS world. The art designs on both series are both good and suit the world that they try to portray. Even in games that hardly change their formula, the art designs adapt to the setting (*cough* The Elder Scrolls *cough*).
Ideas - LOS has potential that was not unleashed due to time constraints. Same with the classics. Why the heck did LOS Spyro did not go through underwater levels? Why doesn't Spyro have elemental shields?
Storyline - It is more serious than the classics and I enjoyed the LOS trilogy just as much as I enjoyed the originals. The storytelling has progressed very well but that doesn't make me like LOS more than the classics. They are both different and whichever series I play depend on my current mood.
If I had to choose, I'd go with Classic. But honestly, I don't care what universe Spyro is in, as long as it satisfies me in the end when the credits roll

Re: Should Spyro's Kingdom Continue Classic Spyro Or Legend Spyro?
The issue with this subject is that we are talking about two different spyros, the original and TLOS versions have what are totally different charaters, simluar looks but they arent and will never be the same. For those die hard fans that dont want to let go of the original, perhaps the creators will spilt the game into two different games, Original & TLOS, to fit the needs of both fan groups. If they refuse to do that, its game over for original, its not coming back, they bought the name and made a new franchise that has been very profitable and there is no going back, yes it may not be fair for the Original spyro lovers and yes it might not suite your needs but its the companys choice.

Yes, the problem with most of my classmates is that they do not care about Spyro in the first place. They could like LOS if they gave a thing about Spyro. But they don't - they prefer to play games like COD and Fifa. The only people who I know like Spyro only like the classics. I have yet to meet an LOS fan in real life.
I enjoy talking with one LOS fan (he's on Youtube, by the name of vgman94) and he has some really interesting ideas on how to expand on the LOS gameplay. And even though he hates the originals (except Spyro 2), he is really nice to talk to.
And about Activision working on both series, I definitely see that happening. Sega and Ubisoft work on two series of their mascots (Sonic and Rayman respectfully) and seeing that Activision seeks maximum profit, they would be really missing out on half of the fanbase if they didn't focus on both series. The problem of course is to get a company to develop the games (as you said, Whitewind) but there are definitely companies out there who could develop a Classic Spyro game just as much as there are companies who could develop an LOS game.
Do you always put ~Regards Whitewing on a post or is it your part of your signature?
