Trailer and information about "Skylander's: Spyro's Adventure"

this disappointed me beyond comprehension. this isn't even a Spyro game as far as i'm concerned. from what i'm seeing, this is just some generic video game with generic goofy-looking characters with generic levels and a generic series of 32 toys to milk money from, with a purple lizard thrown in to get more money via association. Spyro looks like a creature straight out of an 8-year-old's afternoon on Spore, and with all the new characters, i can't imagine this is going to follow the old or TLOS storylines. the gameplay, which looks... okay, can't save it.

i'm not going to go saying these opinions on other sites or other threads because i don't want these opinions getting out there before the game even comes out and has a chance to prove me wrong. there's a slight chance i could be wrong, but judging solely from what i've seen so far, this is going to be awful.

Well, when my boyfriend was looking over my shoulder and saw that picture the first thing he asked was "Oh, did someone make that on Spore?"

It really does look like a Spore creature. XD

Yeah, almost nobody that has prior knowledge of Spyro beforehand likes the character design of him. His feet in general are what got me... they are quite massive. o_O

The gameplay so far looks like an Action RPG/Brawler with character slots bound by lock & key. Quite an unexpected approach but I guess it'll be fun while it lasts.

Makes me wonder if they will reconsider his design. Not that it is bad but...ah....some things confuse me. I swear he has the same syndrome Ridley from Metroid has: Small as hell wings, large as hell body. Can fly regardless

Doubt it, on the certain element thing. Anyways, seeing that base that scans the toys, I can see why they are selling it for 70 dollars...it will need a bigger box for the starter pack. >>

TBH i think this is the game to ruin it IMO.

Making the toys won't come cheep, and spyro ain't the big seller he once was so I just see a lot of money falling down the drain.

Stop being negative. >.=.> Sometimes the big sellers are the ones you expect not to sell as well. Or sometimes the most fun game is the one you think isn't. Just saying.

Oh, and this is Activision were talking about, they can just use the money they got from selling Call of Duty.

This doesn't look decent at all, I'm sorry if some of you on here are excited for this, I'm certainly not and I'm not gonna waste my money and time much less brain cells playing this. At least TLOS looked like a dragon, this looks like a deformed baby.

Don't say so until you try it. Hell, some people on Epic Mickey only played the first hour and gave up, not even trying to continue on and seeing if it got better. They are just like 'oh, look, this game looks crummy for the first level. I hate it and don't want to play more.' Blah, not being offensive, but thats the mindset people who say bad things about games are. Mostly.

Of course you have the right to your own opinion. What we're trying to say is, that it's fact that you don't TRULY know what to think about something until you try it. It's like saying you don't like pizza because of the way it looks, but you've never tasted it.

there diffrent consepts. Im adventurus with food as it dos'nt cost a tonne.

this is just Activition grabbing your money

buy the game and the toys to go with it!!! it will be a ripp of im sure.

Also Cynder will now be Ugly enough to force her fans to Rage Quit :-P

Good point. Even if Cynder does eventually make an appearance, she probably wont be the dragon goddess of avalar, lol

I have been a huge Spyro fan since I was five years old. I got my first Spyro game in kindergarten and played it all the time. I didn't really realize until I got older and played the Legend of Series how much I missed and appreciated the first three games. Sure, I like the LOS series. I don't have a problem with it at all. I just always liked the classic Spyro better, and I always will. The fun music, cute characters, interesting worlds, and a lovable Spyro with hours of endless fun and gaming.
So, it all started today when I saw some fan art of the new, Skylanders Spyro. I saw some fan art and decided to look into it a bit further, considering the style was... unusual. I looked at the description, and that's when I found out there was going to be a new Spyro game. Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. At first I thought Spyro's design looked horrendous. When I read about the whole augmented reality, I thought: Crap. I'm not even going to know how to play it. And when I thought 30 characters, I instantly thought it was going to be characters like other dragons with different elements. And old characters maybe, like Hunter and Elora. As I thought about it for a while, the new Spyro design began to grow on me. When I saw the trailer... that scared me a bit with all the weird looking characters. But the landscapes and how fun it looked made up for it a little. Then the demonstration video with the augmented reality made me realize it wasn't such a odd and hard thing to do.
Now, with the popular views of the game. A lot of people like to say 'It's just a ploy for money.' Is it true? Could totally be. I'm not going to say it's not, because how would I know? It's not like I made the game. But when you think about it, the technology is new. So, it will be worth the money in my opinion. Throwing Spyro in? I actually do believe that it is likely they did that to get more money out of it. I wouldn't buy it if Spyro wasn't in it. But he is, so...
Another thing I hear a lot is, 'They've ruined Spyro!'. And yeah, they very well could've. But, it's not something you can really say until you see his personality in the new game and play it. I know I'm not putting Spyro to the grave without a fight.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, I'm trying to keep an open mind on this. I think other people should, to. And all of this is just my opinion. I'm not saying any of this is fact.
