One of the characters looks like the Ice King from ANB, or those skeleton people you had to kill in Gloomy Glacier in AHT.

And another looks like Typhlosion meets a shark...

Two things I noticed right away:

1. The character names. They don't sound like names so much as character species or labels. I mean, can you see one of these things coming up to you in game and saying, "Hi, my name's Trigger Happy" or "Hey Stealth Elf, how's it going?" This makes me think they're not really going to be characters with well-developed personalities, just excuses to sell more of the toys.
2. Spyro isn't in front and center. He's not even at the top of the page. They've just placed him off to the right like he's just another minor character.

in their defense, the site at least will probably be more interesting closer to the release date.

they probably need to add finishing touches to the Java, or images, or whatever they're going to do, plus there's the HTML, plus they probably just don't want much info getting out before it's even released.

Lolol, but don't freak out too much RDX, i actually think our hate for this game has brought the Classic and TLoS fans together! xD

Very well possible, but hey I suppose they were gonna turn back to the younger generation sooner or later. I've seen this toy concept used in other genres, but that's a little bit out of reach for me. I'm certainly not driving all the way to New York to buy little figurines for 20 bucks each just so I can unlock the full potential of the game.

I'll just read up on it on wikipedia.

You're in the minority, i think. The few people that have a positive outlook on this game are hoping for more characters and periodic DLC.

A griffon toy was among one of the 30 creatures in the game if you look at the teaser trailer carefully. big_smile

i don't care how many characters they have in terms of the story, but i just want them to have fewer characters for the sole reason that Activision would make less money off it.

because you know there will be innocent kids who buy into it and want their parents to buy all 32, and that's going to be countless dollars out of their pockets and into Activision's...

I noticed this too,and also Stealth Elf looks alot like a chibi version of a female night elf rogue from World of Warcraft too =/
