"Judging the Book by Its Cover"
Apparently, a whole lot of fans have quickly judged the upcoming game and deemed it as an upcoming failure, when they only saw screenshots and demos of the game that is still working in progress.
They also haven't even played the game themselves to completely judge it. Some fans have reasons for not liking the upcoming game. One of those reasons doesn't make sense, like 'because of Spyro's design being ugly in my eyes, this game will suck for sure!'. Character designs doesn't make a good game, yet fans seem to only rely on Spyro's character design to decide their decision, and not play the game in general to decide for themselves.
Heck, I'm willing to try this game and decide if I like it or not, instead of "judging the book by its cover" like the majority of the fanbase are doing.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
Lol, me as a hardcore TLoS fan, who had always been open to the change of everything, still see this game as pretty iffy. I mean Like i said, I think one of the things that will bother me is the lack of plot.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
TLOS was not really what Spyro is all about, it was an odd experimant for the series and I am glad they are going back to true Spyro. If you want deep stories there are plenty of other games out there.

not like we have an option. after the redicules amouynt of meney this game is going to cost, its not like were planning to get it.
also alow me to elaborate more...
-No sparks
-ugly spyro
-big money conn
-very exspensive by the look of things.
-32 charictors ((Redicules if we are paying to play em'))
-a game that was obviosly just labled spyro to drag us in
all the resons why we should be against it, its a descrace that there turning spyro into a "COLLECT THE WHOLE SET THEN BUY MORE AND MORE AND MORE OF USSS!!!!!" without any of the old cast ((as far as we know now anyway))
I would rather they just wen't back to TLOS rather than reboot him AGAIN.
One other rather odd thing is...
why are they making a game, based off the old spyro ((somthing the older fans would enjoy)) aimed at the kids who seem to prefer Tlos? seems funny if you ask me, you'd have thought they'd be making everything spyroXcynder in order the rake the cash in...

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
Well, most of the fans wanted a Classic Spyro game so badly, they got their wish. But they're now hating it because the game isn't like the Original Spyro. It's been confirmed that after Skylanders, if the game got enough good sales, Activision will make Spyro his own series again.

my main hate is that its NOT spyro.
I don't give 2 hoots about the design, i mean its ugly but mah i'm getting Tales of Grace F and the pinked haird brat on that anoyed the heck out of my by just looking at her.
but can you realy say skylanders was planed to be spyro from the start? realy its clear it was'nt.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
No I don't expect them to do that. But they seriously need to get their act together and control their anger, fustration, and hate on Skylanders, and not let it oout on other fans who like the game.
Internet trolls are all over.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
All that glitters isn't gold. :-|
I said that on DS I'll say it here. People can have a million and one reasons to hate or a like this game. To be honest, I find it perfectly reasonable for people to be turned off by this game just because of the price, and the cost for additional characters just so they can fully enjoy the game.
Having to spend $70 just to get the starter pack, then buy $290 more just to get all the characters. . . yeah, its not really surprising that people are raging at this point.
For now, the game still looks uninteresting to me. . . I'm willing to be patient and wait for some more gameplay videos and actually try the game out myself, but I don't have high hopes for it. <_<

Hmm . . . I guess that's fair. DotD wasn't what some people were expecting. Still I've said this as well on DS, its too early to sharpen pitchforks and light torches. Once September rolls around that's when things get interesting.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
if people bother to pay the over the top price.
anyway, it was'nt because DOTD was bad ((and IMO it was REALY bad)) but more of the sence that, spyro could R.I.P. now rather then become spyro the hedgehog.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
Guys, Aura24 is right. It's not like Spyro is the first gaming icon to be put in a series, specifically to milk out money. I'm sure you would recognise this game:
Rayman is no longer with the Rabbids. He is back in his own series now. So will Spyro. Just give it time.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
Uhh, I think you guys are missing the point here. Me, and possible others, aren't saying that there are games out there just to be there to get some sort of revenue going, what I'm saying is that I hate for Spyro to turn into something like that. Whether or not Skylander's is that game or not, will soon be decided once some of us have played Skylander's.
For me, I'm hoping its not, but from what I've seen. . . I'm not impressed. :-\

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"
If Spyro was turned into the worst thing ever, say a porn star...
I would not alienate Spyro because of the ties from the other 13 games. I would simply not involve myself anymore in the future games until I see the quality surface again. This situation is not bad enough for me to disconnect myself from new Spyro. And if I did disconnect, I could come back, just like when I left the games after EtD. What Spyro is doing now does not change what he did when Insomniac ruled the platformer world.

It would seem that way, but I don't think it will be that bad. I mean it's going to be bad that Spyro is attached to such a weak project, but I suppose worse things could have happened.
As another user already said, this game just appears very un-interesting to me. Perhaps because it's finally geared towards kids would put off any 22 year old....well at least ones like me, but hardcore fans will most likely play it anyways.
I simply imagined them trying to run off something that already had an image in terms of development and story, but they decided to go the reboot direction once more and this is what we get. Time will only tell if it's going to be a success or not, but I wont be investing any money in it when that day comes.

Uh-huh. . . So, if I read you correctly, your saying that because Spyro is surrounded by friendly woodland creatures teaming up against some ultimate evil that is threatening their world, is no different from AHT, and YotD? The motion of that yes, its no different, but how its done. . . yeah, that's where I see the problem. I got nothing against, Spyro having allies, but when its down from what they given us so far. . . I dunno, I really need to play the game.
I'm just not impressed from what I'm seeing. I hate to say this, but it looks like no matter what character you are, there isn't going to be a real dynamic change in gameplay. . . out of anything, Spyro, Stealth Elf, and all the other critters are just avatars, with a few little gimmicks thrown here and there.

I'm probably going to kick myself in the rear latter on with this game, or I might be overwhelmed with a serendipitous disposition just like when I watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, on youtube. Like you said, time will tell.

Yeah, Spyro isn't the only game franchise to have a different series featuring other characters, including himself. It's not the end of the world...
