Can I ask one question?
I know I just did. But anyhow, is this really a Spyro game as such, or does it just include Spyro?
Cause if it's the latter, I don't think I'll bother getting it.

Re: Can I ask one question?
Activision wanted to take a different direction with the Spyro series. Since Sklanders is aimed for a younger audience, Activision teamed up with Toys R Us to help support the game by selling the other figurines to play as the exclusive characters. It has been confirmed that the toy idea was to bring out "the imagination that toys have always unleashed with kids, and the imaginary world of a video game."
You only need Spyro to complete the game, which he is included with a few other toys in the Starter Pack. Some of the areas in the game can only be access by certain characters, but you can still finish the story without going into the areas.

Re: Can I ask one question?
There must be other fun platformers that you enjoy playing other than Spyro.

as it stands, this has no connection to the first games or TLOS, and has none of the characters, including Sparx, except for a purple dragon named Spyro. i don't consider something meeting this criteria to be a Spyro game in the slightest.

a ploy to get money.

Technically unless they're handing them out for free now, all video games ever are a ploy to get money. I spent more on my Yugioh cards than the maybe four action figurers I'll buy to play this game.
[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/5597209/spashthebandragon] I've got fanfics for Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Frozen, and Spectacular Spider-Man. Err, separately, I mean. Not some weird crossover thing. Those are all separate fanfics.

You don't even know enough about Skylander's Spyro to say that there is no connection. No one does.

that's why i phrased it the way i did; "i don't consider something meeting this criteria to be a Spyro game". i didn't just mean SA, i meant any game that meets this criteria. and as it stands, Skylander's meets this criteria.

Ok, I understand. But I can't imagine the group of people that would agree with that. What would you say IS the criteria for a game to be a Spyro game--if there is a criteria at all.

Re: Can I ask one question?
Spin-off. No doubt.
I mean, where's Cynder? how did Spyro change like this?
Okay, maybe It isn't a spin-off, but then there must be a reason for it that Spyro changed like this..
I mean, Dotd had it's reason for example. They were stuck for 3 years in the crystal, so their body matured. so their bodies were different..
it looks more like a spinoff to me.

This is obviously not a Legend of Spyro game. I'm pretty sure the question's between spin-off or original continuity.

Re: Can I ask one question?
More importantly than Cynder, where's Sparx? Unlike Cynder, he's been in every single Spyro game up until this one.
This does seem more like a spinoff than a Spyro game since Spyro doesn't appear to be the main character, just one creature among many, each with a unique story. I remember reading somewhere on here that Activision is making this game to gain fans for Spyro, and if it goes well enough they'll make a game starring Spyro. But that might have been speculation.

Re: Can I ask one question?
From what I've seen, it's neither spin-off nor main series.
I think it's only a Spyro game in the same way Super Smash Bros Brawl is a Mario game, or a Kirby game, or a Zelda game. And indeed can we honestly say SSBB was a Mario spinoff either? Or a Kirby spinoff?
The situation is admittedly complicated by the fact that Spyro is the only previously-known character there.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: Can I ask one question?
But Super Smash Bro's is awesome, hopefully this game can be as good. Maybe if it sells well they will make a second one with an all star cast?

Re: Can I ask one question?
I think I'd rather have Skylanders be a Brawler.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: Can I ask one question?
I'm glad that we have a more classic Spyro experiance in this game but a fighting game would be an awesome game down the road.

Re: Can I ask one question?
This is defently a game with Spyro a part of it, it's not his major game but it would attract spyro fans to play skylanders, and possibly skylanders would be perfect and would rise into fame after release. This is new to all of us.
