Anyone still play this game?
Does anyone still play this game alot? I personally think it's the best Spyro game, and never, ever gets old. What do you think? O:)

Re: Anyone still play this game?
It's considered a pastime to me now. Which means, I'd rather not play the game for a few years so that when I finally go back and play it through again, I can lament on how awesome the game was and the memories it jogs from my childhood. You don't get those feelings when you play it all the time.
Wake me up... when September ends is here...

Re: Anyone still play this game?
I fully compleated it again about a year ago so no rush to play it again.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
Yup.
Though the disc has a few marks on it that I'm unable to remove.
Other than that it's works fine. I really need to complete it again.
Bringing back those childhood memories, yes.
I agree. Certainly never gets old to me.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
Not really since I've played through it multiple times back in 2009 and 2010. I've moved onto other games now.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
I still play this game a lot actually. Especially now that I got an emulator. No matter how many times I play it, it never really loses its charm. Stormy and I bought the Collector's Edition trilogy on Ebay so I don't have to worry about skipping music and stuff like that either.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
I still play it time to time just for the atmosphere mostly as well as involved in speedruns and attempting to find this "Wave Reef" level someone reported. No idea how text is handled but I think it's based on model ID of the individual 3D letter. Sorry... just find that somewhat odd.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: Anyone still play this game?
Hate to go off-topic, but this is about hacking.. and it's technically the reason I still play this game too!

Insomniac just used standard ASCII to deal with this, and with that there's an easy way to tell there's no "Wave Reef" level. I'd post a screenshot as proof... but I haven't got the permission to do that on this forum. =/
There is something else to look out for, though... I don't remember much about it, but I was talking to another hacker about it over a year ago (time flies!):
(21:13) LXShadow: Debug menus? No debug menus!
(21:13) LXShadow: Oh wait.
(21:13) LXShadow: There was this odd string in your version of Spyro the Dragon, by the way.
(21:13) LXShadow: It was something like, um...
(21:13) LXShadow: "Thigh Masters"
(21:14) LXShadow: It's actually not in the PAL version.
I have no idea if it was actually a level I saw (even though it was on the list of level names)... either way it makes me wish I had the NTSC version! It's a mystery; hopefully some day someone will be able to solve it!

Re: Anyone still play this game?
You can just take the URL of your screenshot and put in some spaces in so the forum will let it through. that text activation thing is so pointless...

And intentionally leaving one gem in the Gnorc Gnexus so you can watch the portal to Gnasty's Loot open up. That thing taunted me when I was a kid but now it's incredibly easy. Fun stuff.
Once every few months I pull it out, get really addicted, and then stop again. The first game is still great and it has possibly the best music of the original three. Stewart Copeland, man.
I like the original Spyro trilogy.
I am currently ranking the 74 main levels from it.. which you probably already know if you're reading this, since my ranking thread is basically the only place I'm posting.

YES!
for me, personally i don't like how "realistic" the graphics are in new games. like, they look "realistic", but something just looks wrong, in the details. i don't get that with Spyro games; they look fine.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
I found a immortality glitch. In wizard peak at the end where is a dragon and enemy close each other the enemy hitted me and the dragon released at same time after that i didn't die, but i had to load the game again cause i fell down and just kept falling.

I am playing it! Decided to start recording Spyro and began with the first game.
Brings back so many memories but then again I forgot so much about the game itself it scares me!

Yup! This happened to me a few times as a kid and I never quite understood why. If an enemy hits you at the exact same time as you release a dragon, you become invincible, which makes the game freeze if you fall into a chasm, you get stuck if you step onto water, etc.. happened to me as a kid at Wizard Peak and also at Dark Passage. Ice Cavern is probably the easiest level to intentionally make it happen in - you can time it pretty easily to get a Gnorc to throw a snowball at you right as you rescue whichever dragon it is who says "Some dragons thought you weren't ready, but I knew they were wrong." It's a nifty glitch, albeit a game-freezing one.
I like the original Spyro trilogy.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
I still play it, and somehow, the graphics just seem to hold up great.
Kinda like Silent Hill 2 and 3.
Play them on Windows PC with an HDMI cord and HDMI TV. Trust me, they will look better in graphics and textures then most games currently on the market. I was amazed to see this. Those 2 were made in 2001/2003, and look better then 80% of games out today.

Re: Anyone still play this game?
It was so long ago that I used to play that game... Ah, the memories. But then again, the only thing I can remember is some kind of grassy place in front of a castle with a hill and a bull chasing me across another grassy place but with a red sky. And the way Spyro act's when you headbut into a wall. :-P
I'm Sear & Burst the twins. Sear, red dragon blue snout & wing flaps. Burst, blue dragon red snout & wing flaps.
I'm leaving for now. I'm *bleep*ed off at Stormy. I need my time anyway, and I'm getting no enjoyment out of this forum, which is what a forum like this was partly made for. For people to be happy. I am not happy.
