Voice of Spyro...

Now...I know this is supposed to take place when Spyro was young, but seriously...am I the only one that thinks that Spyro's voice changed a bit quickly between this game and Spyro 2: RR? Who voiced Spyro in the first game, again?

Carlos Alazraqui (the Taco Bell Chihuahua) and I completely agree with you. Spyro's second voice, Tom Kenny (Spongebob), was the best one in my opinion. Heck, I think he was better than Elijah Wood. But I'm probably just being nostalgic...

Carlos Alazraqui voices Spyro in the first game.

He is most known for doing the voice of the Taco Bell dog. He has also done Rocko from Rocko's Madern Life. More recently, he appears as one of the officers on the ridiculous Comedy Central originals, "Reno 911"

In Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (Gateway to Glimmer), Spyro: Year of the Dragon, and Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, Tom Kenny.

Tom is best known for his voicing of Spongebob Squarepants.

Tom Kenny's talent stretches far. In Spyro 2 alone, he voices Spyro, the Professor, and other various characters, like the Electrolls from Hurricos. In Year of the Dragon, he also voices Sgt. Byrd.

I don't know.

Some younger fans think some elements from LoS truly are better than the Insomniac. And while that is ignorant, it's also ignorant to say that nothing about the three LoS games had a single inch of bandwidth that improved from the original series.

I've always really liked his first voice, I think it does the most for his personality in the first games <333

I like his first voice the best. Wish Carlos Alazraqui would have stayed doing the 2nd and 3rd games, instead of Tom Kenny.. I mean, yeah, like riverhippo mentioned, Tom also voiced a few other characters in the 2nd-3rd games..which was really annoying, imo.

But I guess some time passed and Spyro grew up just a bit?
Hm.. Oh well, don't need to be complaining now since that's all in the past.

I thought that Tom Kenny was overall the best voice for Spyro. I really hated Carlos' voice for Spyro. Tom Kenny's just sounded the most fitting. I hated Elijah Wood's work too. I like Elijah Wood, but... eh. He just doesn't.... He doesn't. Good enough?

I dont think anybody even knows why Insomniac never brought Carlos back. I will never understand it either. Regardless, Tom did an amazing job on spyro in S2,3, and 4 and he will always be the most notable spyro voice actor (Apart from cry baby emo Wood)

I didn't mind Carlos Alazraqui, but I did think Tom Kenny was better. The fact that he also voiced other characters didn't bother me; I didn't even know they were all him until I noticed the credits in the instructions booklet.

As for Elijah Wood, given what he had to work with, his acting was good, but he just doesn't sound "like Spyro" to me. I can only hear Elijah Wood, not his character. I guess he has kind of a distinctive voice and never tried doing other voices like "real" voice actors would. (And before someone complains about this statement, by "real voice actors" I mean people who voice act exclusively and don't do live action movies.)

before i was even aware of how the voices were made and that there were such things as "voice actors", i always just thought it was Spyro growing up. by Spyro 2, he wouldn't have sounded like he did in the first game anymore.

maybe his voice changed a bit quickly, but i don't know. maybe it didn't even mean anything, maybe they just got a different voice actor and we weren't supposed to question it. anyone here watch the Fairly Odd Parents? .. remember what Chester's voice used to sound like before that one movie? no explanation there.

I thought Tom kenny as spyro really worked, and was definitely my favourite voice for spyro. Carlos was alright, elijah wood fit for THAT certain spyro I suppose, but i don't know if he'd fit for classic spyro

i just remembered TLOS Spyro's line, "Ignitus, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and i tried to imagine classic Spyro saying that.

I liked Tom Kenny's voice best. It's very weird playing levels like Hurricos where you hear Tom Kenny do another voice that you know is him but doesn't sound at all like Spyro's voice. I suppose I liked Carlos Alazraqui's voice as well, but it was a bit too... nasally?
