New Kaos Trailer

I don't think all sounds are annoying, just that the Skylanders ones sound like silly nonsensical grunts that are made for no reason. I know it sounds like kind of a minor thing, and it is; if I liked enough other things about Skylanders I could definitely ignore it. Just needed another item for my list, to be honest.

In your video, it's the enemies making the sounds, so you don't hear them constantly whenever you jump or whatever. That's another thing. It's not like I want complete silence or anything.

Anyway, yeah, this is a very minor complaint compared to others I have that didn't fit so well into rationalizing why I think the game is "kiddish" to Spash the Bandragon.

My Little Pony is "kiddish" and "girly", and look at their viewer demographics. Kiddish isn't a bad thing anymore.

If you'd read my previous posts you would see that I mention more than once that I don't have a problem with kiddish in itself. There are just some types of kiddish, like whatever Skylanders is, that don't appeal to me.

Maybe I should just stop posting in this section; I don't like getting into these arguments any more than any of you do, especially when everyone here is against me. XD

That was directed generally at people who think it's too kiddish. Friendly qualities are refreshing when violent games like Modern Warfare are everywhere.
We aren't really against anyone. Don't go all animalcrossingcommunity on us.

Just meant I seem to be the only person anyone here argues with, which makes sense because I'm the only one posting here who doesn't like Skylanders. Not trying to sound like I'm a victim or anything.

I enjoy being objective. So I can definately see your side of things. Don't mistake a disagreeing statement as a total disagreement. I guess I should note that.

Skylanders, like some games, have that kiddish annoyance that doesn't relate with older audiences. And like you, it's only a minor dislike.

i despise Skylanders, and yet people don't argue with me that much anymore. i don't know why, my posts have a much stronger and more (angry)passionate tone than yours.

that really, really confuses me. maybe it's the vocabulary, when i use words like "abhor".

Your vocabulary might have a lot to do with it, actually. With you they see complete dislike and no hope of changing your mind. I try to sound a little more neutral to avoid being inflammatory (isn't that ironic), so people think maybe my opinion can be changed because it's not as strong as yours. I dunno.

It might also just be that I'll usually argue back. I used to be terrible at letting things go and would continue to argue even if I was completely wrong because I wanted to always "win" every argument. There are probably threads buried somewhere on this forum where there are 10 pages of just me and one other person arguing. :roll eyes: I've gotten better at that, but I still haven't completely lost the habit yet.

Okay, okay, it seems to me more like you're more upset at me for being too sarcastic rather than anything related to Skylanders, Stormy. And if that's the case, probably there's some merit to what you're trying to tell me, because rereading what I've written here, I don't think as much would be started if I'd just been foreward about what i thought. Sarcasm adds a "I'm smarter than you!" vibe to what I'm trying to say, and that's not what I meant to get across.

So first off, let me apologize if I was rude. I'm not the best at handling getting frustrated. And I REALLY don't want to scare you away from the Skylanders section of the forums. (And I'm not being sacrastic, either, this time wink .) I also want to assure you I'm not attempting to "change" or "correct" your opinion of Skylanders. More like I was argueing for the sake of argueing, which obviously is a bad thing that discourages productive conversation.

I admit I wasn't responding in my posts as best as I could. If you'll accept the apology I would like to drop this arguement and get back to talking about Skylanders.

Oh, I'm not angry or anything. If I sounded that way it's because when I read sarcasm directed at me I respond with sarcasm, and I admit I was taken a little off-guard by the dramatic change in tone at the end. But yeah, no hard feelings.

I expected Kaos to be...well, chaotic. I expected him to be a giant monster in a big blue robe and like Aku in Samurai Jack.

But...he does remind me of Ripto so no problem for me.

It's okay to dislike the game. Your reasons are valid, unlike the ones on Youtube. Heck, I'm probably never ever getting any of the Call of Duty games because I think it is an overhyped generic shooter. And there are tons of FPS games much better than it, anyway. roll

you know what my main problem was? the fact that they made him swallow a fly. he has a lot of potential, don't make a fool of the man! Malefor doesn't have to be the only super serious villain out there. sad the closest we've got is the Sorceress!

Nah Malefor was more chilling then anything, in retrospect when you look at fridge logic he did what his doing because he thought it was his destiny

LoS was slightly different in terms of its main antagonists. We didn't even see Malefor until DotD, and even then, he didn't truly reveal his persona until the the last few cutscenes.

Kaos is a much more involved character who will try to ruin the world of not just one, but 32 characters that are essential to the storyline.

Kaos kind of reminds me of Ratchet and Clank's first antagonist Chairman Drek, a foolish but powerful villain.

Of course, what the writers actually meant to say was, "The Apes were getting boring so we wrote them out of the story and added a better variety of enemies." Same thing, really.

Speaking of which, that's something I'm liking about Skylanders. It's got a good, strong mix of enemies instead of just "small ape, medium ape, dreadwing, large ape."

So are there going to be other villains besides Kaos or what? Like lackeys or something? Maybe some sub-bosses like Crush and Gulp to Ripto?

We don't know for sure. The only known main antagonist in the game is Kaos.
