Gametrailers releases two new gameplay videos on Skylanders, one for the 3DS and the one for the Wii.

The game seemed much better than I eccpected and the graphics were perfect.

And do all these characters even have a backstory? Character development? ANYTHING?!?!

All Skylanders each have a backstory, Latias. Spyro, Ignitor, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Flameslinger, Eruptor, Chop Chop, and Zap have a backstory.

I found this interesting. The 'story scroll' in the console interview said this:

Today there are dozens of brave Skylanders and in the past, hundreds more. But the most powerful of all Skylanders were the Elder Elementals. These giants possessed powers of Light and Darkness within their flesh. No one has seen an Elder Elemental in centuries, but there are rumors that they will return someday.

I wonder who they're talking about... roll

Wow. I thought Final Fantasy XIII had terrible names, But those just take the cake.

The Story Scrolls probably tells us of Skylands' history or something.

Story Scrolls? Elder Elementals? This is telling me that they're taking inspiration not just from past Spyro games.

EDIT: The lighting in the chainsaw level could use a little bit more work, imo. And the rotating chainsaws remind me of Hurricos from Spyro 2. big_smile

Awesome because of the Story Scrolls and The info about The Elder Elements I'd say That Skylands has had generations of Skylanders protecting the Skylands. Long before, Spyro and co were battling Kaos and his baddies.

After watching those videos, I'm more interested in the 3DS version than the console versions.

There is, Jazz. The game for the console will come with the 3DS Starter Pack, along with Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf, and Ignitor.

I think you can rename the characters, like in Pokemon. Not positive, though.

I'm looking foward to dark spyro and stelth elf dark spyro because he was only seen in the legend of spyro games 2,3 and also welcome back Aura.

Yea just like the Star Ocean games were you rename a character but everyone calls them by their default names anyway. Making the entire thing pointless.
