A commercial for Skylanders has been revealed. We hear Spyro's voice, Stealth Elf's Zook's, and Boomer's.

If that's Spyro's in-game voice, I've gotta say I really like it. I was secretly fearing a Hero's Tail/Spyro 1 voice, so I'm really relieved.

I beg to differ. I think he sounds too... common, if that makes sense. He doesn't have a nice but striking voice like Tom Kenny or Elijah Wood, he just sounds like your average American teenager.

He sounds fine to me, but I know what you mean.

The first trailer was kind of funny, but the second one... makes it pretty clear they know who their target audience is and don't care if they leave anyone out.

Actually, I find most commercials annoying, so I wasn't expecting a Spyro commercial to be any better. I doubt the game itself will be like that, but it might be.

The classic Spyros did a good job keeping the humor non-obnoxious, so if Skylanders does something like that I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm waitng to see some in-game cutscenes before casting judgement.

...Well yeah, but commercials are supposed to get people interested in the product, right? They don't make commercials for no reason. My point is that they clearly don't care what older audiences think about the game if they chose to market it in a way that's generally only funny to ten-year-old boys. Think about it: if that commercial was all you knew about the game, would you want to find out more?

As a side note, you seem to get pretty defensive when I make a comment that's anything but positive about Skylanders. Relax. I'm not even "bashing" or "hating," just making an observation about, as you said, "just a commercial."

Hell most comertials are terrable.

Eg Enchanted. saw the copmerchal and I instently hated the film by the sight of that, skip a while later on BBc last year it was on TV I watched it, and it was a pritty good disney film, no Snow white or Pocahontus, but still pritty damm good :3

Sorry, I'm not trying to come of as defensive. Anyways, what stations did the commercial air on? Because if it was on Nikolelodian (I think?) then it seems logical to aim it at little kids.

On a side note, now that we actually HAVE seen an in-game cutscene (I think it's the opening scene of the game) I have to say I like the humor, so I doubt it'll be a problem.

(I'm not 100% supportive of Skylanders, by the way. I like it for the most part, and I will buy and play it, but my two negative things are
1. No Jumping (therefore I'll also be buying the 3DS version)- It's not quite a "Spyro" game if he's land-based, but at least some characters can fly.
2. Price- If I blow all my money on the Wii and 3DS versions, I'll have 6 toys, but I'll have to save up all over again if I want to get the other ones I want (Cynder and all the game-original Dragons).)

That is a fair point. I didn't think of that. Just seeing them on Youtube kind of made me forget there was a more limited audience than everyone in the world.
