I saw a "demo" of it in Target today where you can put a toy's box on the portal and see a short video of the toy. I was a little disappointed there was no actual demo, though. I'm not going to buy it, so how else am I ever going to try it out?

I actually got my hands on it the other day.

It was actually kind of fun, but like DotD, cutscenes make me cringe.

This is my issue with this game hmm the main issue.
Heck if it was just called Skylanders and had 32 characters and spyro was one of them, then... GOOD ON YOU

It’s the stupid toy thing, is it REALY needed? No.
Is it Really expensive? Hell yes!
I mean TBH if it was just as I said A game that was called Skylanders and Spyro was in it and it included the 32 characters then this would of ended up on my Christmas list. but its just the sheer amount of money they expect us to spend on a game i mean I’m not paying £55 on a game witch requires further spending on to unlock its "full potential" I'd rather get a game for £40 witch doesn’t require compulsory spending to unlock the game potential. You may be saying "hey what about DLC?!" well the fact is half the time DLC is just Minor add-ons and isn’t very necessary. But for a game like this i imagine they will make it forced on you to go out and get more toys. hmm

I mean why is Spyro in the Title anyway? he's not a Major issue in the game is he?

And my last point is that you may be thinking "BUT THIS GAME IS FOR KIDS!!!" That just makes things worse, making parents forkout tonnes of cash so there kids can get more toys to make the game more open. I'd rather just pay less money and give 'em Uncharted or somthing.

Finally I can access this forum! My browser kept on saying something about a critical error when accessing this site...

Anyway, I will only be able to get this game in May/June because of school reasons. I am sure it is a great game and there will be no denying it. roll

I'm not surprised (and really, rather happy) about the reviews. It's about time Spyro had a game which did not have "mixed or average reviews".

Quite franky i find it amazing there are mugs out there willing to fall for such an obvios scamm because quite frankly there just fools.
Hell and if your sick of reading the same crap over and over again give me a good saolid reson on why the toy system is so despretly needed to make this game sell.

These quotes still tell me you don't have the right perspective on it. Spyro fantards are the only ones who are hating this game. I have heard nothing but good things from the people have bought this game.

And as far as the price of it. I say get over it. If I want to buy $200 on a piece of candy, that's my business. But if I feel I got $200 worth out of it, how is a person who hasn't had that experience it gonna tell me I am a fool. All of these fools that you speak of are enjoying this game and it's idea.

Quite frankly, I feel that you just can't get over the fact that it's 'not a Spyro' game. It's not a Spyro game, yes. But this game incorporates everything we loved about Spyro originally and then some. You guys say that we buy it just because we are fanboys. But I think the fanboys are the ones not buying the game, because they think it's a disgrace to their 'childhood'.

If you ask me, those people are still children.

The toy thing isn't necessary. Nothing in a game is "necessary". It compliments the game.

I have a 8 inch tall Darth Vader figurine from Empire Strikes Back and it just sits on my shelf. Costed me $12. Would you say that's a waste of money? Maybe. Do I need that figurine to watch the movie? No. But for me, its what I decided to do with my money. Perhaps I enjoy Skylanders BECAUSE i bought it with my money. What's so wrong with that? At least I'm enjoying the game while users like you bellyache about it and bark at the people who bought it saying how retarded they are.

The Spyro fandom is starting to *bleep* me off. Because it's starting to be more about 'what to do with Spyro' than simply enjoying the games that we have. I can't remember the last time either of you indicated to me that you enjoy Spyro or gaming.

Theres no point, even you just said that. the fact is there making you pay money to open this game up ((Because with the starter pack you get NOTHING!!!)) when theres clearly no need for it.

It's not a scam. Scams tend to employ at least a small level of subtlety into their play, obscuring what the person is getting for what they give. What Skylander's offers is pretty clear. It is therefore not a scam. It's pricy and basically designed to be a cashcow, but it's not a scam. So if people decide to spend their money on the game, they're not being tricked. They are willfully choosing to buy a full-length game that can be added to later with the purchase of small figures.

You can complain that the game is overpriced, bad value or whatever, but you can't really argue that it's a scam.
