Re: Developer Interview!!!

The only thing I'm worried about now is that it might be like a duplicate of Shadow Legacy. Not that I didn't enjoy that game, but it does get boring after awhile.

SL is an RPG, which is a different genre from Spyro Legend (also SL) so I don't think they'll be that much alike.

Re: Developer Interview!!!

It seems like they might be similar because they both have abilities that you can "level up" and the combat seems similar.

Re: Developer Interview!!!

Not necessarily.  In the great PS2 action/adventure game known as God Of War, you can level up by collecting orbs.  This is the same way Spyro levels up in this new game (only he collects special colored gems).  So, althoughSpyro can level up, its not going to be an RPG like Shadow Legacy.

Re: Developer Interview!!!

Ž · This game will be a lot different from an RPG. IMO the genre of this game would be quite concentrated in Action, just like God of War and Devil May Cry, and a good example of a non-action game that looks like an RPG that IMO is what is on other people's mind is Soul Calibur. It looks like an action game but it actually isn't. IMO in LoS, your reflexes and maybe stylishness and also your hand-eye relation and quickness may be tested.

"Having Spyro as a New Beginning meant that we could explore ways of developing the style and look into something that represented a maturing of the game and its environment, as well as taking full advantage of what the technology is capable of."

And yet Spyro is getting younger?

The point is to look back into the series and explore his past. I think they just want to tie up that loose end then finish with the series.
