Emulator won't run Spyro without fairies on me!

Is there anyway to get around the anti-piracy? Because I put my disc into a .iso file for my emulator, and the fairies are on me.
Any help?

If you have the disc, why not just use that with your emulator? It should still work. Besides that, I don't really know anything about the actual conversion, so someone else might have to help with that.

Actually, the disc will only work if it's not a European disc. If it's a European disc then it'll crash when entering the first non-homeworld level, and will corrupt your save.

@Stormy The disc won't work with the emulator, that's the thing.

@HWD45 It's not a European disc. I don't think so, and I made a new save, and Zoe didn't tell me about hacked or illegal games! But in the second world I can't find 5 gems!

Oh yeah, it did that to me too when I used a ROM. It didn't tell me it was hacked but I encountered a lot of problems that hacked ROMs have... So, I scoured the internet and eventually found a ROM that worked big_smile

Which emulator are you guys talking about? I've got EU disc and it works correctly while using peops cdr plugin with m3s file for subchanel reading. ... Or maybe there is just something I am missing in your posts XD

I use that emulator too (though i prefer Ps1 or Ps3 when I play Ps1 games) I could use a good Year Of The Dragon rom so I could make Let's play series. Or then I just buy Easycap but I'm not sure how it works and is the quality good.

I use psxfin (I think that's what it's called tongue ), which uses less plugins than ePSXe, so perhaps one of the ePSXe plugins bypasses the crashes? Because I've heard it's fairly easy to work around the crashes.

This may be little bit off topic, but I don't want to make a new topic. Since this topic already has discussion about roms and emulators. Could someone post a step-by-step tutorial on how to do rom files out of my ps1 games without breaking the disc or damaging the files on the disc. I will make those roms for personal use and I won't spread them in internet. I'm using ePSXe emulator so the file has to be something that emulator runs.

I just use a program Burn or another one called AnytoISO.
Hope it helps (I'm running Mac, so I don't know if they work on PC).

Also, if you want to run the CD through the app without that process, here's some help. (I made this little tutorial) Ok, I use PCSX-R, but I think (I haven't used your emulator) you just insert the disc and press run CD-ROM in the pop-up menu, like when running an iso.
Hope I helped, never used your emulator before, so don't hate, because I'm just guessing because that's how it works on PCSX-R.

So basicly I just put the ps1 disc on cd drive ,or whatever it's called, and burn it like regular cd (I have only burned audio cd's and one time a concert from dvd but it failed so I'm not sure how to burn a game on your pc). And after that I convert it to right file type.

Yes, but with burn and AnytoISO you convert them automatically to .iso files, which inside are .img files, run them and BAM! Done. Hope I helped!

It should automatically be an iso file, in which there will be an image file where you can play through that for the 'Run ISO'.
Also, make a new file for that game, copy the files inside the iso file to it and you'll know what I mean once you've done things correctly.

I think Spyro games have some sort of protection against copying. I made .img of CTR but when tried to do that to Spyro games i can't. I can't make the .mdx file of them with Daemon tools.

Mdf doesn't work? Does it stop while creating the mdf/mds file, or just emulator crashes while playing the game? I couldn't make mdf when the CD was scratched a lot (it was CTR disc). I had to use CloneCD which made some dummy on the broken parts.

It (Daemon tools) can't recognize the cd or something. I can't even start the creating of .mdx file. Spyro 2 is little bit scratched but Spyro 3 is in pretty good shape.

Well, then I don't know... maybe try CloneCD, but I'm not sure if it is free...

I think I'll try CloneCD because now Daemon Tools Lite won't open for me?

Edit: CloneCD worked!! Now I have a backup copy of my Spyro 2 Gateway To Glimmer. It's little bit strange quality it lags more than the original but it doesn't matter.

Sorry if this is not allowed to post, but its just a patch. Since you own a legal copy, it should be ok. Download this:

Then follow the info in the ZIP file on how to patch the game. What the patch does is successfully removes the anti piracy protection (Or anti gnorc as i call it), and lets you play with ease. I currently use it since i dont have a playstation anymore, but want to use an emulator. I own a legal disk and this happens to me too. Seems EPSXE cant tell if its *Legal* or not.
