Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
Alright, here's my attempt at a critique.
I like what you have going with the black and white silhouette with the eyes and mouth cut out. The white space in your logo could be used in a more interesting way, however. I would make Spyro either much bigger (stretching out and cutting off at the edges) or much smaller and in the center. The former would be more visually interesting as it forces the viewers to complete the shape of Spyro in their minds, while the latter would look more clean and focused. As for the words, I would give them at least a little more of a margin from the top of the page. If it were me, I would put them in the center right above and in line with Spyro, but I'm sure there are a lot of other things you could do with that.
The avatar also definitely needs some work around the edges; they're pretty pixelated. And on the larger image, some of the edges look like they should actually be curved lines, and a few look a bit blurry. I recommend trying a vector graphics editor to solve these issues (one free one that a lot of people use is Inkscape). I also notice you have some extra little grey pixels on and around Spyro's head scales that could just be erased or changed black.
That's just my constructive criticism, so don't feel like you even have to listen to any of this. Hope it helps!

Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
write your logo in 50% opacity over and over again in slightly different positions (one to the left, one starting at maybe the 3rd letter over in the previous one and up a bit more) and then write it in 100% opacity in the center. (or light gray and black, respectively.)
if you use GIMP, take the Spyro image, and go to Filters --> Distorts --> Wind. have fun.

Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
In my opinion... not really. It looks alright, definitely not any worse, but it didn't fix the jagged or blurry edges or anything else at all, really. I still think you should at least give that text a top margin so it's not touching the edge, if nothing else.
Maybe try 36IStillLikeSpyro36's suggestion for the text as well; that could be interesting.

i think the jagged edges work in his favor, actually. he seems to be going for some kind of modern/futurized kind of look, and the jagged edges make it look a bit more convincing.
some space above the words would be an improvement.

Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
I can't find opacity [still kind of a noob to GIMP]
But I did this with the text
Thought it would look cool if it matched the rest of the effect, as for the edges, that's something I did while editing the picture, forgot to go back and fix it before I finished it

Looks a little better; at least they match again now. I must emphasize again that I really think the text should be moved down, though.

I could see that, but I just don't care for it personally. It looks more like it was unintentional rather than an actual design choice. The couple fuzzy edges definitely need work, if nothing else.
And yeah, I've been trying to point out the space above the words thing for my last couple posts here. It really would look a lot better.

Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
Yeah, see on your avatar how there's no space between the words "Dragonfly" and "Tiberius Creations"? That's what I've been talking about. There should be some extra white space at the top of your image.
The whole thing looks a lot better in avatar size, by the way. The eyes kind of look like they're glowing.

Re: Need Avatar/Logo Help
after making that post last night, i realized that i don't think you can actually change the opacity of typed-out text in GIMP, at least in any way that's really easy to pull off. you'd just have to use light gray. that also seems a bit tedious though. that was just a suggestion, if you want to do some other kind of effect too, that's fine.
