Fanfic idea for me to share with you guys
I really enjoyed The Legend of Spyro trilogy, but it ended with me wanting more. You can imagine how disappointed I was when Skylanders was announced. Thankfully, I have fanfiction to ease my troubled soul, but I have an idea for a fanfic that could have a lot of potential. And before you ask why I don't just write it myself, it's because I don't have the time to do so, coupled with how I feel that I could not write the story as good as it could be. So, I've decided to share this idea with you guys and see what you think of it. Heck, you could use it yourself if you wanted to.
(Note: The story is divided into a trilogy)
The first story takes following the defeat of Malefor, where Spyro and Cynder now reside in Warfang following the war. However, after receiving information that an unknown force is attacking several communities, the Guardians send Spyro and Cynder to the village that they predict will be targeted next. True enough, the settlement is attacked, and Spyro and Cynder discover the race behind it all: MAN!
Yes, man! Man has always... Actually, never mind. Some of you probably haven't watched The Nostalgia Critic.
Anyway, after returning to Warfang and telling the guardians of the attack, they all deduce that the humans are marching towards Warfang. After Spyro is contacted by the Chronciler (who we all know is Ignitus), who tells him to go with Cynder to him at the White Iles. As they embark on their journey, Spyro and Cynder (and no, I haven't forgotten Sparx in any of this) encounter a human camp; which holds a human prisoner who is known only as 'Prisoner Zero' or just 'Zero', who is said to be the greatest enemy of 'The Emperor'. Spyro and Cynder end up freeing him, and they reluctantly allow him to accompany them. Spyro is later contacted by The Chronicler again, who tells him that Zero must follow them to The White Iles. As they travel to their destination, the trio encounter put a halt to human activities they come across, and learn to trust one another. After reaching Ignitus, he directs them to find a powerful sword and then return to Warfang to help fight off the upcoming human siege.
After obtaining the sword, Spyro, Cynder and Zero return to Warfang and battle against the human army. After the trio defeating the General leading the assault, Zero disappears, and Spyro and Cynder decide to follow the retreating forces to their homeland, and take the fight directly to 'The Emperor'.
In the second story, after following the humans to their homeland, Spyro and Cynder are quickly found and overwhelmed by the enemy (no thanks to Sparx). However, they are rescued by Zero, who is revealed to be the leader of the resistance fighting against the tyrannical, war mongering emperor. Unfortunately, the capital city of the human empire is protected by a barrier that prevents and attack from being carried out. The trio travel throughout the land , freeing the elves and dwarfs from enslavement (as well as gaining support from those escaped captivity. I imagine this huge elven Sanctuary like in Overlord 2 when I think of this) in order to gather forces for an attack on the capital (during which the elves will use their magic to weaken the barrier surrounding the city, and the dwarfs will forge siege weapons for the assault). As the story progresses, Zero's past is revealed (as well as his name, which can be anything you want it to be), as well as why humans attacked the dragons in the first place.
Millennia ago, before the rise of the Dark Master, the humans and dragons waged war with each other, with the dragons emerging victorious. The humans were crippled by their loss, and eventually broke up into small, separate tribes. Many years later, Zero's father, who was leader of one tribe, dreamed of continuing the war and exact revenge upon dragonkind. However, Zero, who was merely a child at the time, objected, pointing out that doing so would be suicidal (Yes, he is a child prodigy), and that the dragons today should not blamed for the crimes of the dragons then. He was banished from the tribe for this objection, and spent the next few years gathering followers who supported his ideals. After returning to his old home, he battled and killed his father, then took control of his tribe. He then united the other tribes under his banner with the promise of a brighter future and the restoration of the glory of the ancients. After forming this empire and rebuilding the capital city however, Zero's brother, who followed his fathers ideals, overthrew him as emperor and began a campaign of militarization, declaring he would exact justice on the dragons for their perceived crimes against humanity. Zero escaped into exile, and had been organizing the resistance since then until he was finally captured, which leads to the beginning of the first story.
When the attack is launched, Spyro, Cynder and Zero participate, storming The Emperor's palace and facing him in combat. The Emperor reveals his ultimate plan to: open a gate that leads to a dimension called The Shadow Realm, unleashing an army of demons onto the world. The Emperor believes that he can control these forces and use them against the dragons, but Zero knows that such an attempt is impossible and that the demons will destroy all life in the world. After defeating and supposedly killing the emperor, the trio learn that the portal will not open immediately; and Zero tells Spyro and Cynder to return to Warfang and return with aid, knowing that neither humanity nor dragonkind can face the demons alone.
In the final story, six months after the second, the portal the Shadow Realm finally opens (a crack in the sky) and the demons pour through. As Spyro, Cynder and Zero fight the forces back, they enter the Shadow Realm to close the portal connecting the two worlds. There, they discover that the Emperor is alive, and has now become possessed by the demon forces. After defeating the Emperor for a final time, the Shadow Real portal closes and the world is saved. The trio say their goodbyes, and Spyro and Cynder return home.
Also, in the third story, Zero uses two swords. The one he got in the first story and his brother's sword, a family heirloom that is also imbued with magic. (That's how I'd do it, but it's up to you.)
Let me know what you think of this idea, let me know if any of you want to use it. Like I said before, I don't feel that I have the ability to write it as good as it could be.

Re: Fanfic idea for me to share with you guys
Definitely sounds interesting, but I have neither the knowledge of TLoS nor the time to write fanfiction. I think you should try writing it, though; your writing seems good to me.

@Stormy I've already said that I do not feel that I do not feel that I could write it as good as it could be. That's why I'm sharing it here for others. Of course, they need my permission first.

Ok guys, let me say something I should have said a while back. I've finally decided to suck it up and write this story myself. The Legend of Spyro: The Oncoming Storm is on Fanfiction.net for you to read if you're interested.
