My attempt at translating a German article about Spyro 2

Continuing from here, here's my attempt at translating this article. Although I took classes in it in high school and middle school, I am not perfectly fluent in German, so I'm going to have to use Google translate to look up a lot of the words and phrases.

Also, if anyone knows German and wants to help, that would be great!

The article:

First paragraph:
Poor little Spyro: the guys from Insomniac Games (Disruptor) won't give him a break. Although exactly one year since the release of the first part has passed, the story of Gateway to Glimmer (subtitle of the sequel) links seamlessly with the story of the predecessor. Shortly after the final boss[1] Gnasty Gnorc was defeated, our purple darling wanted to rest at the beach, but a clumsy professor beamed him through a false portal, and he found himself now at the beginning of many new exciting adventures. The little power-hungry gnome Greedio with his two monster fiends terrorized 14+ planets with an iron fist and is exclusively afraid of dragons. No question that the noble Spyro helps his friends, the Capricorn Elora and the leopard Jäger[2], who again and again have helpful tips and are at your disposal as a teleporter, in the fight against the trio. The baby dragon still has his talents from part one (fire spitting, sailing with stubby wings, using his horns as a battering ram) in store and additionally two more to learn: a mini-hop after a glide as well as a hop attack[3].

[1] It literally said "upper dragon villain" according to Google, so that's my best guess
[2] Jäger is a literal translation of "Hunter"
[3] I'm not sure what this "hop attack" is supposed to be.

I'll continue with the rest later.

I think the link to the article is broken.

Edit: Here's a fixed one. (Silly 36.) I uploaded it to imgur and have a local copy, so we'll never lose it <3

It's an image in a spoiler, and it's showing up for me. Weird.

Well, I haven't forgotten about this, but I think I've found the same article in English, so it might not need translating after all. tongue

Re: My attempt at translating a German article about Spyro 2

Good find, but I think this is just an entirely different article. It only seems to reuse the surfboard picture, and only the first paragraph seems similar. I compared punctuation between the two a bit, and either the English article is paraphrasing the German one or it's an entirely different one. I'm not the one who speaks German, though tongue

Edit: hah i just realized you found that on tumblr what a looosr heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh

Re: My attempt at translating a German article about Spyro 2

Punctuation probably wouldn't be a good way to compare them because of the different rules in the languages, but yeah, I think you're right that the English one is a paraphrase. The German one seems longer and looks like it has more information. I just saw the surfboard picture and skimmed the first paragraph and assumed they were probably the same.

(lol I'm sorry)
