i haven't found a way to make it do a proxy jump, but in trying to do this today, i did manage to do a proxy "fall" of sorts, where i was thrust down most of the stairs leading to Gulp a few times, and once or twice where it sent me farther than usual in the opposite direction in that hallway.

it also means when you're doing a speedrun, you can just use your glitchin' gucci yolo swag and go into Gulp's Overlook without having to run around actually getting all 14 talismans. i already knew like 3 ways to get to Crush early, but then i had to go back and get the talismans anyway.

plus, i've kind of wondered somewhat recently what's in the walls of Autumn Plains, if anything. you can go under and around the level in Summer Forest and Winter Tundra, but there wasn't any real way to do that in Autumn Plains since all the walls are solid. now you can sort of do that.

in Spyro 2? yep.

for Crush, you can either do a swim in air glitch and go to the tunnel; go to the balcony (where you jump to the other one to get that orb behind the doors), jump on top of the doorways to the right (so that Aquaria Towers would be to the left; those doorways) and then double jump out one of the big areas between those pillars on the walls (making sure you jump pretty high); or go to the area with Sunny Beach and Hurricos, go to the door on the right, and flame the button inside the tunnel while Spyro's in the doorway. from there you can access the tunnel, too.

Ripto, you'd just do a swim in air glitch and go over the castle to the tunnel. i'm sure explanations for both swim in air glitches i mentioned are all over YouTube, and in fact there are at least two you can do in Summer Forest. tongue

i don't mean to go off on a thing here, but i could also point out that if you go to one side of the tunnel leading to Ripto (to the left or right of it), go *slightly* over the top of it, and charge-glide across it to the other side, the screen darkens like when you're going into his level, but if you do it right, the screen won't go entirely black. just sort of or mostly. you can't pause the game or anything, but you can navigate the level, and it looks pretty cool (if not a little creepy) darkened. i *highly* recommend having the map on for this glitch.

if you go over to water (especially the water by Canyon Speedway), you can stop swimming and walk around. if you put your head (read: the camera) under the water, some of the brightness will come back on things like the snow and the sky, and that makes a pretty cool effect, too.

if you go to the right places "inside" the castle, there are a bunch of glitched-up portals that don't actually lead anywhere, but do some interesting stuff to the screen. i'll have to see if i can get some better pictures of those.

i need a life.

If you were to do a speedrun and do that glitch before skipping to Ripto, the boss fight would go by soooo much quicker. smile

man, the way Spyro goes through the wall before turning toward the portal is just perfect. sometimes i really wonder if all the glitches we find were intentionally put there by the developers, maybe to test out certain features, and just forgot to take them out, or if they left them there to see if we could find them.

think about it, that's like a perfect fit in that wall. the water on the steps on Breeze Harbor is at the perfect height to do a swim-in-air glitch. Zoe is positioned just right to easily pull off the swim-in-air glitch in Dino Mines. the box in Fireworks Factory conveniently lets you proxy jump and access that hidden area.
