Dark Matter Dragons

As some science-lovers will know, there is stuff called Dark Matter. It is in all Universes, but it doesn't always work the same in different Universes. In the Legend of Spyro Universe, it is simply a variant of matter that can not interact with normal matter. At least, it's not supposed to...

Dark Matter Dragons take's place in the Legend of Spyro Universe, approximately 2,000,000 years after Spyro's death (600,000 years after defeating Malefor, cause unknown), with a young Dragon named Kyrem, a teen (in Dragon years), living on his own, his parents dead when he was just a baby, their cause of death forgotten.

Give feedback at will. I'm not exactly a great writer, but I try.
Ask questions if you want.

Disclaimers
I have only played the first Legend of Spyro game (A New Beginning).
The story take's place in an alternate Universe where the planet was still whole, and things went on (relatively) normally after defeating Malefor.

SCROLL 1: Kyrem

"What was that?" Kyrem, the green dragon, asked himself.
Something huge crashed into the land. It came from the cloudy sky. Like a meteor, but it seemed a little strange... Kyrem decided to check it out. After all, he was bored to death anyway, as usual.
As Kyrem got closer, he got more and more worried. The smoke seemed distorted, and the ground is strangly seared.
Most may not spot these things, but Kyrem was always interested in space-related things, and Meteors fell a few times a year around the Desert Mountains where he lived ever since his parent's death, long forgotten.
Nowadays, most dragons have parents of different elements. He heard that in the distant past, during and before Spyro's time, all Dragons were born and raised in the legendary Dragon's Temple. There are some theories about who produced the eggs, some saying multiple dragons like nowadays, others say chosen dragons mass-producing eggs, so on and so forth.
The Kyrem was in front of the strange meteor. But it wasn't a meteor. The surface was shiny, smooth, black metal, and everything around the object wavered like the desert air on a hot day. And even stranger, the air around it was also cooling down at an extreme rate. In seconds, Kyrem was touching it, it being very cold, and getting colder by the second. Kyrem backed away, because it was getting even colder and colder.
Then the object started to cover with black ice-like stuff. And it spread.
Kyrem started to fly off, but the stuff spread into the sky, and froze, if that's the right word, froze his feet into place, then froze the rest of Kyrem. Kyrem was quickly encased in black ice.
Kyrem was panicking, his heart beating at a fast rate. Then Kyrem fainted...

When Kyrem woke up, he wondered why he felt so sore. Then the memories came back like a flood, and he looked around. The strange object was still there, but the black ice was gone, and the object had a hole smashed into the side of it. Kyrem got up, and carefully peeked inside.
There was nothing inside, it was completely empty and looked the same inside as it did on the outside. So then Kyrem went back to his hideout.

Kyrem's hideout was small, but it worked. It was a cave in the side of a mountain, with random junk he finds around the nearby village. Absolutely no one talk's to him except when absolutely necessary. From what he did get from them, it has something to do with his parents.
So Kyrem went to get washed in the pool inside. It could be a nice place, if it wasn't so cluttered. When Kyrem got out, he shook, and then froze. Frozen with shock, surprise, and fear this time, stared at the dragon in the water. Then he realised it was him.
His scales were black.

SCROLL 2: Powerless

It's been 2 days since he was turned black. He lost his elemental powers, and also his ability to fly. Some say that if a Dragon cannot fly, yet has done so before, it's almost unbearable. And as Kyrem has learned, they weren't lying. He couldn't fly to the village, and probably wouldn't anyway. A black Dragon has never existed in all of history. Sure, there was that female Dragon Cynder in legends, but from what Kyrem's heard, she had some dark-purple too, not just pure black. Or maybe the same thing happened as what happened to Kyrem, and they hid for the rest of their lives as well. It couldn't just be Kyrem!
Kyrem was outside, hunting desert rabbits for breakfast, when he heard the flapping of Dragon wings nearby. He quickly hid under a nearby shady, low overhang. Then he heard a Dragon roar with pain, and a Dragon crashed into the ground.
The Dragon was an adult Yellow Dragon. It was clearly in pain, but quickly got up anyway, and started to fly off when another Dragon smashed into the Yellow. This Dragon was Red, but with Blue on it's chest-scales. Most Dragons nowadays have different element parents, but their always one element or another, and never cross-colored like that. On it's front-right leg shoulder was branded, in black, the name 'Colfird'. Was that the Dragon's name? Pretty stupid for something so fierce.
The Dragon supposedly named Colfird said "WHERE IS IT?!" The voice was deep and intimidating. The Yellow Dragon replied, terrified, "I don't know what your talking about! Please, let me live! We haven't seen it!" "GRAGH!" Colfird used his breath attack on him. Kyrem was absolutely shocked. It was fire, but it was blue, and the Yellow Dragon froze. Colfird turned around, the blue flame turned to ice, and his name on his shoulder started to glow, but glow black, like shadows.
A black blob appeared in the air in front of Colfird, seemingly from nowhere. It dropped to the ground, and formed into roughly the shape of a small Dragon in the span of about 1 second, but it was clearly still a blob. Then more blobs appeared, and formed more... Blob-Dragons? Then Colfird flew off.
The Blob-Dragons ran in all directions, while Kyrem tried to sneak away on the sides of the Desert Mountains, while also trying to process that scene.
That Yellow Dragon was from the Village. Who else was hurt? Who else was killed? Why did that Dragon Colfird come, and who is he? More and more questions came, and more could of come, except it look's like he was spotted, because those Blob-Dragons were running right at him, trying to get up the mountain.
Kyrem was glad it didn't look like they could fly either. It also seemed that most off in the distance were still running off, but there were still too many, as 1 was too many to begin with for his liking. Then one of them caught up to him from behind, and jumped at Kyrem.
Kyrem reacted seemingly by instinct, and used his tail to 'whip' the blob off the cliff. When it landed, it splattered, and disappeared. That was unusual, as he had never fought before in his life, and those Blobs definitely had weight on them. You know that moment when you are running from bullies at school, then you turn to punch them, and they suddenly seem less of a problem? Me neither, but that's what Kyrem felt. And he turned around and clawed a blob's face to the ground below like silly-putty. Kyrem jumped down to a nearby relatively flat space on the mountain, where a blob was, and landed on it, splattering it everywhere. More jumped down and climbed up to him, and he used his tail to rip them apart using G-Force, throw them to the ground below, ect. At last, they stopped coming, and he climbed down to the vally, and walked back to his hideout.
Too tired to think, he was back before he knew it. But inside his hideout that no one has ever known about, was an Elder-looking male Dragon. Another Black Dragon, but with thin, purple lines streaking across it's entire body.
The Dragon looked at Kyrem and said in a Low but Gentle voice, "So your the new Black Dragon. Well, your going to have a rough time. I should know."

The Occasional Note

Yes, I know my chapters (scrolls) are a bit quick to change between something happening, to something else happening. That's what I have trouble with. I usually can't think of much to fill in between events.

Scroll 3: Flight

"Who are you? Do you want to complicate my life some more?" Asked Kyrem. The other Dragon replied with a sigh, and said "It's already more complicated then you think. It was complicated since you touched the Dark Sphere." "You know something! Why are those strange Dragons after me? What are those things? Who is-" "Hold it, Kyrem-" "How do you know me? Who are you and why-" "I thought I said hold it." Then Kyrem held his tongue.
The Elder continued. "You see that sun?" He came outside of the cave, and looked at the sunset. Kyrem asked "What about it?" "Keep an eye on it every day." The Elder sighed again. Kyrem asked "What's your name, though? I can't address you politely without a name." "I like how you try to be polite." "Thanks. I think..." "But I can't tell you my name. Not yet." "Then how about I call you 'Grat'?" "Haha! Sure Kyrem. I like how you simply accepted. Your going to make a great student." "What?"

For the next week, Grat trained Kyrem to fight. As Grat put it, "What you fought was scouts. The soldiers are deadly." So Grat taught, and Kyrem learned. Kyrem usualy enjoyed it.

A week after the 'incident', Kyrem was practicing his Tail Strike on some rocks. He was also to practice his evasion and strafing with Grat. On his way over to the hideout, where Grat was sleeping, he glanced at the sun, high in the sky. He was still wondering why Grat asked him to check on it every day, but from what he's learned, he probably know's more then most. When he got to the cave entrance, Grat woke, coming out into the sunlight. He always seems to know what's going on outside his sleep. It's a little creepy, actually.
Grat said "We can practice evasion and strafing later. Right now, you need to be able to fly." "But sir, I lost my ability to when this all started! I don't know why, it's like my wings stopped working right." "In a sense. But the truth is, they simply work differently. Allow me to show you how to use the new wings of yours. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and empty your mind. Yes, yes that's it. Now feel the power of your new element coursing through your body. Forget everything you ever thought you knew. Forget yourself... Now fly..."
A silence had come, and Kyrem got worried. He opened his eyes, and saw a look of satisfaction on Grat's face. "What?" Kyrem asked. When he tried to walk closer to him, he didn't move. His feet weren't touching anything. He looked at his feet, then his wings, and he was flying. "YES!!" He zipped through the air above, careful not to get too high for fear that he may be spotted. After a while, he flew back down, and hovered in front of Grat, and said "I forgot how much I missed this! But what was with what you said? It was very much like something I read in a book." "Ah, yes, books. They're quite new, aren't they?" "Actually, they've been around for hundreds of years by now." "Right. Well, I'm off to bed."

I was doing some research on what the ending was. So that's how Skylanders came? That ruins great pieces of my story, some already told. So how about this: The story take's place in an alternate Universe where the planet was still whole, and things went on (relatively) normally after that?

Scroll 4: Breath

It was dark outside, when Kyrem heard screaming from far away. Grat & Kyrem woke up, and looked outside the cave, and they saw fire. Fire from the village. Immediately, Grat took off in that direction. Kyrem yelled "Wait! Wait!" Kyrem took off after Grat, but Grat was much, much faster then Grat. Soon, Grat was at the village, but Kyrem was quite far behind. After about a minute, Kyrem was finally there. Grat was fighting off a group of those Blob Dragons, and he wasn't having any problem as far as Kyrem could tell. Grat yelled, without looking at Kyrem, "Get back! Go! Go!" But Kyrem just jumped into the fray, and whacked the head off of a Blob with his tail, then grabbed the head of another one, ripping it apart. He turned around to whack another, but as he turned around, there was a huge Blob Dragon, and it smacked Kyrem to the ground. Things started to seem silent, things started to seem peaceful. This ground was quite comfortable... Then he wasn't touching the ground anymore. He opened his eyes, and came back to his senses. Grat was holding him, flying away from the chaos that was the village. Then something smashed into Grat, and Kyrem was flung out of his claws. Grat fought back against Colfird, who was about to breath on Grat, when his eyes widened. Kyrem flew right into Colfird's face, and breathed on him. Shadow came right from Kyrem's mouth, which encased Colfird, who dropped to the ground, dead. Kyrem's last thought before fainting was 'What am I?'

Scroll 5: Convexity

Kyrem woke up to hearing someone with an appealing voice talking to someone else. "-and he knew who you were! I could see it in his eyes! This is bad, really bad. Sp-" Then he heard Grat say "Yes, very bad indeed. But let's not speak of this anymore. Kyrem's awake." Kyrem opened his eye slowly. A Grat was coming towards Kyrem. He said "You are one of the new generation of heroes. Eat this, then follow me when your feeling better." He put a bowl in front of Kyrem. It seemed to have some white liquid. Not milk, more like liquid silver. Grat walked to the cave entrance. Kyrem was skeptical, but drank it anyway, as it was Grat who gave him it, and he trust's Grat. It was sweet, like peaches. Grat started to feel much better. When Kyrem got up, he saw the other Dragon that was talking. Kyrem was stunned. The Dragon was white, like a metal, not quite like silver. Kyrem stared at the Dragon while walking towards Grat. The sunrise was unpleasing, for some reason Kyrem couldn't figure out. Then Grat said "There was once a prophecy of four Heroes. The Heroes of the Dark Elements. You are the Hero of Dark Earth. When you transformed, you lost your connection to the Earth Element. Now, I shall teach you to regain that connection, which will combine with your Element of Dark Matter, to make Dark Earth." Kyrem asked "What is Dark Matter?" "Dark Matter is matter just like ours, except it is normally untouchable, for it is in the 5th dimension. You will need your Dark Earth Element to fight the battle that is to come." Then Kyrem saw why the sunrise was unpleasing. It was slightly darker then normal. The White Dragon came up to Kyrem and said "But we must find the last three Dark Heros. All we have is you, Kyrem and the Hero of Dark Convexity S-" "Hovard..." Grat warned him. Convexity sounded familiar, like he read it in a book. Kyrem said "You never did tell me your real name, 'Grat'. I just started calling you 'Grat'." "Hahah!" Hovard laughed plenty hard. 'Grat' sighed, and said "Kyrem, I am a very old Dragon. Convexity was called the 'Dark' Element in my time. A true Dark Element is an Element tied somehow with Dark Matter." Then Kyrem actually realised what the Dragon using Convexity meant. "Your... Spyro?"

The Occasional Note

I don't write regularly. So if I don't write for a long time, it's probably because of that. I just write this whenever I feel like it. Yep, I'm one of those people.
