What do you think the Machinist world would've been like?
Last year, I read on a hacking site that this game was slightly rushed and Insomniac couldn't finish expanding Gnorc Gnexus, then known as Machinist world. If given more time, the world would have been much larger and would include technologically advanced dragons. My question is, what do you think it would've been like? More difficult? Lengthen the game? Add a quirk(e.g.cannons/supercharge)?
Also, do you think with this extra time they would've added any extra challenges in the game or such(superfly powerup)?
If an HD remake somehow occurred, would they return to that idea?

Hm, I didn't know that, but looking at that homeworld compared to the others, it makes a lot of sense.
I think everything else seems finished and probably wouldn't be any different, but the homeworld itself could have definitely been much bigger and more interesting. Maybe it would have ended up looking a bit like Metalhead's realm.

i feel like the way Gnorc Gnexus ended up was pretty much perfect actually, it adds something different while not taking away too much from the fantasy elements. if they developed it more, yeah, i'm imagining something like Metalhead, or maybe like "normal" levels based on stuff like Wild Flight.
i'm imagining cannons and supercharge, yeah. maybe with those enemies from Terrace Village.

Stone Hill's theme? I've never heard of it having Stone Hill's music. Just Toasty's.
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

I honestly think there would have been more dragons to save, but that's about it. I was never particularly fond of Gnorc Gnexus anyhow though, so a longer version of it wouldn't have made me happier

Huh, I'm exactly the opposite. Gnorc Cove and Twilight Harbor were some my favorite levels in the game since they were both so creative. It would have been awesome if instead of just a single platform, Gnorc Gnexus was its own fleshed out homeworld like the previous. I can imagine it looking aesthetically similar to Gnasty's Loot but built around gliding instead of flying.
And I thought the reused Toasty music was actually really cool. It's a great song and I felt like it really fit the ominous nature of the area.

You know, I've wondered since then how they planned to keep the number of dragons even. 80 dragons seemed intentional, so I wonder if they would've added a 35th level and bumped the number of dragons to 90.

And speaking of flying, a superfly power up would have been the icing on this amazing cake of a game. Gnasty's loot reminded me of Dawn of the Dragon and levels like lofty castle begs for temporary free flight.

Re: What do you think the Machinist world would've been like?
I love the machinist world because it combines Artisans and some futuristic themeing. I believe the world could have been bigger with more dragons to save. It would be interesting to see what they would have looked like. The world would need one more level and it would be interesting to see suggestions for it.
I'm both a sucker for Spyro and old school houses!!!
