This Might Not Bring the Strongest Point, But...

Something.png

I dunno, it just still kind of boggles me that one of my favorite franchises can still run while the other's left in a crystal. If a new TLoS game will never exist again, what in the core Spyro series will? I don't mean something that is merely a slap-in of many Spyro games at once, but one that innovates on every aspect of what a dragon protagonist-focused video game is supposed to do. Seriously, I'd kind of like something over the top when it comes to air battles these days, and I think dragons are the perfect candidates for these scenarios.

Who knows the future of Spyro. Spyro's in Skylanders for right now...

Well that style of displaying information certainly looks familiar.... Almost suspiciously so.

But no, this doesn't mean anything. Comparing the Terminator movies, which everyone has at least heard of if not seen, to LoS, which no one outside this little fandom on the Internet cares about? It's just wishful thinking.

It just happens to me when I get excited about sequel releases I didn't expect so soon after a long wait.

Yeah, Spyro is not even close to Terminator on the pop culture scale. I wouldn't get your hopes up

Maybe not in the general public, but you have to remember that the followings for any one video game franchise are, by current records, smaller than any following for a movie franchise, even Mario and any military shooter. The proportions could actually be bigger than that, but it's not known because the players are shy to admit it, maybe even after the effects of the Crash of 1983 and maybe because the news press tends to view games as a pass time that gives detrimental effects.

The differences in production values for the mediums might be another factor. For movies, it's mostly about style vs substance, and trying to balance the two. For video games, it's different, because you can get away with style, but I guess the mass public is used to wanting substance, which is probably why the majority of the public are alienated by video games and why some of the good video games simply get ignored just because they don't have the kind of substance movies or even books do. I can see why Spyro's ignored today just for this very reason, but for the industry to have us wait this long is almost a crime. I can forgive it just a little bit, as it's not as big as the Half-Life 3 crime, but it's still a bother.

All I'm trying to say is the vast majority of people, gamers include, could not care in the slightest what happens regarding Spyro because it's nothing more than that game they played a lot when they were little

Have you seen KrazyKari lately? I mean, have you even seen the dragon OCs in general? I didn't know there were so many that look good for the Spyro universe, and I didn't even know they were still making some after all these years. I'm not the only one who has wishful thinking, and I think you're no different.

People still make OC's for He-Man too.  Doesn't mean it's popular. wishful thinking is fine and all, just don't get your hopes up because a new Spyro game that isn't Skylanders is highly unlikely to ever happen again. It's too old and not enough of a classic
