Was the Professor evil?
I never put much thought into this until today.
It sounds crazy, but it's heavily implied that Professor taught Agent 9 from an early age on how to kill rhynocs, going as far as creating rhynoc themed targets.
Agent 9 is obviously psychotic and obsessed with killing them, and even just mentioning the word sets him off.
That seems incredibly evil of Professor to raise him to be that way, even if rhynocs were the bad guys.
I get it's just a game but it still irks me and I really don't know how to feel about Professor's character.

Re: Was the Professor evil?
i didn't think anything of it until now. yikes.
also, something (kind of unrelated) i've wondered for years now, if they're the forgotten realms, why does the Professor have a laboratory there?

Scary thought... never thought about it before
How he tricked Spyro into Glimmer wasn't especially nice either.

Maybe the realms were just forgotten by the dragons, while the Professor had his remote and secret "super villain" laboratory hideout there

i dont think professor is necessarily evil, just maybe he had some bad experiences with rhynocs before. i figured he did know about the forgotten realms and had that lab there for all those years. i think spyro's the only one who didnt know about the forgotten worlds and professor in spyro 2 just didnt have any reason to bring it up.

Re: Was the Professor evil?
Well ethics in science are always kind of on the cusp. I would call him more of a mad scientist than evil; at least his intentions were always good. Never thought of it that way before though. And Agent 9 seems like a happy-go-lucky guy and not mentally tortured or anything

nah, agent 9 i dont think was tortured in any way. imagine someone telling you your whole life who the bad guy was. you'd believe them because you trust them (maybe even love them) and never question it
believe me, i know from personal experience.
agent 9 is probably just afraid of rhynocs more than anything really
