Skylanders: Battlecast
A trailer was released for the newest Skylander title, Skylanders: Battlecast, was released today.

This will be a mobile release and looks (to me, at least) like a multiplayer Pokemon Trading Card game (although I never played Pokemon so I really have no idea what I'm talking about. I was always a Yu-Gi-Oh person ).
I don't really know what to make of this. Given that you are required to collect cards in order to expand the game, it doubles up with the Skylanders figures which means double the MONIES for Activision (EDIT: Apparently these cards come bundled with the new Figures and Vehicles so you don't have to fork over monies...much).
This does look look an interesting (and dare I say innovative ) idea coming from Activision. I think we have seen this sort of 3D technology used before somewhere with Skylanders in the mobile market.
I can't help but notice that Spyro is once again at the forefront of the trailer, seemingly in what is an attempt to make him stand out among the sea of over 300+ Skylanders (he's probably already drowned at this point ).
But enough of the criticism! What do you all make of this? Personally, I've never played Skylanders, but it seems that this could make a neat little tie in for any Skylanders fans out there .
