Re: This game makes no sense

There is a lot of missing details when it comes to Spyro conflicts.  For Ripto, I feel like it was implied that he's like a realm terrorist, who travels from realm to realm, looking to conquer.  When he arrives in Avalar, he smells that there are no dragons, almost like the places he came from were 'contaminated' with beings he did not like.  So at best, he's a poor runt outcast who got bullied by dragons from another world, and at worst, he's racist.

Re: This game makes no sense

i always assumed the villains in Spyro 2 worked for Ripto. there's nothing really implying that they don't.

though i never did understand what Elora meant by "damage". there wasn't really any... "damage" to any of the worlds?...

Re: This game makes no sense

I always wondered why Ripto hated dragons, yet Crush and Gulp look remarkably similar to dragons.

I mean that's kinda like saying "I hate cats" but I own a snow leopard. Like, it's a bit off from a typical house cat, but that's a cat dude.

Re: This game makes no sense

When I was younger, I always felt the castles in the Avalar homeworlds represented the principality of power, and those powers ruled over the subrealms.  Because Ripto is so tyrannical, it made sense to me that the civilians would be unrest during his time as lord of the realm they lived in.

However, another thing to note that I didn't quite understand was why there are 14 talismans in Avalar, both between Summer Forest and Autumn Plains.  But there are no talismans in Winter Tundra.  Why is that?  Are the Winter Tundra communities against the concept of power-giving magical items that represent other realms?  Maybe they had a realm decree to only use orbs as a way of magic and scientific currency so that it could be easily transferable to other beings from other worlds.  Orbs are in the other homeworlds too, but not in as much concentration.  Another theory could be that Winter Tundra was recently annexed under the Avalarian flag, and did not have the history, culture and talismans that the other two do.  I wonder what kind of government Avalar rules under?  Was Moneybags a ruler, or just the steward of the palaces?  Perhaps Avalar is a plutocracy, in which the laws and regulations are dictated by the wealthy.

I remember vaguely thinking about these things the first time I played the game, and I am thinking more on it now because of this discussion.
