Missing Mushroom Speedway Egg

I'm 100%-ing all the worlds before I face the Sorceress, and am down to just the speedways.
I don't understand how I ever found these difficult, they're a cinch...so much easier than the ones in Ripto's Rage but I digress.

Right now I'm in Mushroom Speedway and I won the butterfly race twice in a row but was NOT awarded the egg either time. It just gives me the option to either race again or return to Sparx.
I just finished Time Attack and received that egg. I haven't yet played the Hunter game and am about to turn in (it's 2am here).
So it's just the butterfly race egg to my knowledge so far.

I triple checked the Atlas and it shows Mushroom Speedway to have 3 eggs just like the others and the order is definitely not the problem because I did the race first in Harbor Speedway and the egg was still awarded.

I have heard of this happening in bootlegs/pirated copies of the game but mine is a legit original PS disc.

Please tell me this is fixable! I'm guessing I need that egg to unlock the super bonus world!

this is a common glitch with certain versions of the game sad i don't know of a workaround for it, sorry. ALTHOUGH there are level select cheat codes that activate after you defeat the Sorceress, one of which leads to the Super Bonus Round smile so even if the game won't credit you with the egg, you can still 100% it. if you just need the code to get to the Super Bonus Round, it's

Another question: My best friend said she'd let me go through her old PS/PS2 games and take what I want. I have no idea if she has this game but if she does, would/could a different disc make a difference?

depends on the version. the Greatest Hits version doesn't have that glitch.

but then again mine wasn't labeled "Greatest Hits" and i never had that glitch so i really don't know what's going on there x_x

but if she doesn't have one labeled "Greatest Hits" i wouldn't take chances with it

Mine isn't greatest hits and I highly doubt hers would be if she had a copy.

I actually never heard of this glitch until right now. Glad I do have the Greatest Hits version.

I don't know which version I had, platinum or something, and this never happened to me. If it wasn't a common glitch, I would guess for a scratched disk.

My best friend didn't have Spyro among the games she gave me but it's cool.
I got into the Super Bonus World with the warp code. Now I'm just having trouble with the Yeti skateboard race.
